Josué 16
1 O território que, em sorte, caiu aos filhos de José, começando no Jordão, na altura de Jericó e no lado oriental das águas de Jericó, vai ao deserto que sobe de Jericó pela região montanhosa até Betel.
2 De Betel sai para Luz, passa ao limite dos arquitas até Atarote
3 e desce, rumo ao ocidente, ao limite de Jaflete, até ao limite de Bete-Horom de baixo e até Gezer, terminando no mar.
4 Assim, alcançaram a sua herança os filhos de José, Manassés e Efraim.
5 Foi o limite da herança dos filhos de Efraim, segundo as suas famílias, no oriente, Atarote-Adar até Bete-Horom de cima;
6 e vai o limite para o mar com Micmetate, ao norte, de onde torna para o oriente até Taanate-Siló, e passa por ela ao oriente de Janoa;
7 desce desde Janoa a Atarote e a Naarate, toca em Jericó, terminando no Jordão.
8 De Tapua vai o limite, para o ocidente, ao ribeiro de Caná, terminando no mar; esta é a herança da tribo dos filhos de Efraim, segundo as suas famílias,
9 mais as cidades que se separaram para os filhos de Efraim, que estavam no meio da herança dos filhos de Manassés; todas aquelas cidades com suas aldeias.
10 Não expulsaram aos cananeus que habitavam em Gezer; assim, habitam eles no meio dos efraimitas até ao dia de hoje; porém sujeitos a trabalhos forçados.
16 And the lot of the children of Joseph fell from Jordan by Jericho, unto the water of Jericho on the east, to the wilderness that goeth up from Jericho throughout mount Bethel, 2 And goeth out from Bethel to Luz, and passeth along unto the borders of Archi to Ataroth, 3 And goeth down westward to the coast of Japhleti, unto the coast of Bethhoron the nether, and to Gezer; and the goings out thereof are at the sea. 4 So the children of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, took their inheritance. 5 And the border of the children of Ephraim according to their families was thus: even the border of their inheritance on the east side was Atarothaddar, unto Bethhoron the upper; 6 And the border went out toward the sea to Michmethah on the north side; and the border went about eastward unto Taanathshiloh, and passed by it on the east to Janohah; 7 And it went down from Janohah to Ataroth, and to Naarath, and came to Jericho, and went out at Jordan. 8 The border went out from Tappuah westward unto the river Kanah; and the goings out thereof were at the sea. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Ephraim by their families. 9 And the separate cities for the children of Ephraim were among the inheritance of the children of Manasseh, all the cities with their villages. 10 And they drave not out the Canaanites that dwelt in Gezer: but the Canaanites dwell among the Ephraimites unto this day, and serve under tribute.

Josué 17
1 Também caiu a sorte à tribo de Manassés, o qual era o primogênito de José. Maquir, o primogênito de Manassés, pai de Gileade, porquanto era homem de guerra, teve Gileade e Basã.
2 Os mais filhos de Manassés também tiveram a sua parte, segundo as suas famílias, a saber, os filhos de Abiezer, e os filhos de Heleque, e os filhos de Asriel, e os filhos de Siquém, e os filhos de Héfer, e os filhos de Semida; são estes os filhos de Manassés, filho de José, segundo as suas famílias.
3 Zelofeade, porém, filho de Héfer, filho de Gileade, filho de Maquir, filho de Manassés, não teve filhos, mas só filhas, cujos nomes são estes: Macla, Noa, Hogla, Milca e Tirza.
4 Estas chegaram diante de Eleazar, o sacerdote, e diante de Josué, filho de Num, e diante dos príncipes, dizendo: O SENHOR ordenou a Moisés que se nos desse herança no meio de nossos irmãos. Pelo que, segundo o dito do SENHOR, Josué lhes deu herança no meio dos irmãos de seu pai.
5 Couberam a Manassés dez quinhões, afora a terra de Gileade e Basã, que está dalém do Jordão;
6 porque as filhas de Manassés, no meio de seus filhos, possuíram herança; os outros filhos de Manassés tiveram a terra de Gileade.
7 O limite de Manassés foi desde Aser até Micmetate, que está a leste de Siquém; e vai este limite, rumo sul, até aos moradores de En-Tapua.
8 Tinha Manassés a terra de Tapua; porém Tapua, ainda que situada no limite de Manassés, era dos filhos de Efraim.
9 Então, desce o limite ao ribeiro de Caná. As cidades, entre as de Manassés, ao sul do ribeiro, pertenciam a Efraim; então, o limite de Manassés vai ao norte do ribeiro, terminando no mar.
10 Efraim, ao sul, Manassés, ao norte, e o mar é seu limite; pelo norte, tocam em Aser e, pelo oriente, em Issacar.
11 Porque, em Issacar e em Aser, tinha Manassés a Bete-Seã e suas vilas, Ibleão e suas vilas, os habitantes de Dor e suas vilas, os habitantes de En-Dor e suas vilas, os habitantes de Taanaque e suas vilas e os habitantes de Megido e suas vilas, a região dos três outeiros.
12 E os filhos de Manassés não puderam expulsar os habitantes daquelas cidades, porquanto os cananeus persistiam em habitar nessa terra.
13 Sucedeu que, tornando-se fortes os filhos de Israel, sujeitaram aos cananeus a trabalhos forçados, porém não os expulsaram de todo.
14 Então, o povo dos filhos de José disse a Josué: Por que me deste por herança uma sorte apenas e um quinhão, sendo eu tão grande povo, visto que o SENHOR até aqui me tem abençoado?
15 Disse-lhe Josué: Se és grande povo, sobe ao bosque e abre ali clareira na terra dos ferezeus e dos refains, visto que a região montanhosa de Efraim te é estreita demais.
16 Então, disseram os filhos de José: A região montanhosa não nos basta; e todos os cananeus que habitam na terra do vale têm carros de ferro, tanto os que estão em Bete-Seã e suas vilas como os que estão no vale de Jezreel.
17 Falou Josué à casa de José, a Efraim e a Manassés, dizendo: Tu és povo numeroso e forte; não terás uma sorte apenas;
18 porém a região montanhosa será tua. Ainda que é bosque, cortá-lo-ás, e até às suas extremidades será todo teu; porque expulsarás os cananeus, ainda que possuem carros de ferro e são fortes.
17 There was also a lot for the tribe of Manasseh; for he was the firstborn of Joseph; to wit, for Machir the firstborn of Manasseh, the father of Gilead: because he was a man of war, therefore he had Gilead and Bashan.
2 There was also a lot for the rest of the children of Manasseh by their families; for the children of Abiezer, and for the children of Helek, and for the children of Asriel, and for the children of Shechem, and for the children of Hepher, and for the children of Shemida: these were the male children of Manasseh the son of Joseph by their families. 3 But Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, had no sons, but daughters: and these are the names of his daughters, Mahlah, and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah. 4 And they came near before Eleazar the priest, and before Joshua the son of Nun, and before the princes, saying, The Lord commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brethren. Therefore according to the commandment of the Lord he gave them an inheritance among the brethren of their father. 5 And there fell ten portions to Manasseh, beside the land of Gilead and Bashan, which were on the other side Jordan; 6 Because the daughters of Manasseh had an inheritance among his sons: and the rest of Manasseh's sons had the land of Gilead. 7 And the coast of Manasseh was from Asher to Michmethah, that lieth before Shechem; and the border went along on the right hand unto the inhabitants of Entappuah. 8 Now Manasseh had the land of Tappuah: but Tappuah on the border of Manasseh belonged to the children of Ephraim; 9 And the coast descended unto the river Kanah, southward of the river: these cities of Ephraim are among the cities of Manasseh: the coast of Manasseh also was on the north side of the river, and the outgoings of it were at the sea: 10 Southward it was Ephraim's, and northward it was Manasseh's, and the sea is his border; and they met together in Asher on the north, and in Issachar on the east. 11 And Manasseh had in Issachar and in Asher Bethshean and her towns, and Ibleam and her towns, and the inhabitants of Dor and her towns, and the inhabitants of Endor and her towns, and the inhabitants of Taanach and her towns, and the inhabitants of Megiddo and her towns, even three countries. 12 Yet the children of Manasseh could not drive out the inhabitants of those cities; but the Canaanites would dwell in that land. 13 Yet it came to pass, when the children of Israel were waxen strong, that they put the Canaanites to tribute, but did not utterly drive them out. 14 And the children of Joseph spake unto Joshua, saying, Why hast thou given me but one lot and one portion to inherit, seeing I am a great people, forasmuch as the Lord hath blessed me hitherto? 15 And Joshua answered them, If thou be a great people, then get thee up to the wood country, and cut down for thyself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the giants, if mount Ephraim be too narrow for thee. 16 And the children of Joseph said, The hill is not enough for us: and all the Canaanites that dwell in the land of the valley have chariots of iron, both they who are of Bethshean and her towns, and they who are of the valley of Jezreel. 17 And Joshua spake unto the house of Joseph, even to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying, Thou art a great people, and hast great power: thou shalt not have one lot only: 18 But the mountain shall be thine; for it is a wood, and thou shalt cut it down: and the outgoings of it shall be thine: for thou shalt drive out the Canaanites, though they have iron chariots, and though they be strong.

Salmos 148
1 Aleluia! Louvai ao SENHOR do alto dos céus, louvai-o nas alturas.
2 Louvai-o, todos os seus anjos; louvai-o, todas as suas legiões celestes.
3 Louvai-o, sol e lua; louvai-o, todas as estrelas luzentes.
4 Louvai-o, céus dos céus e as águas que estão acima do firmamento.
5 Louvem o nome do SENHOR, pois mandou ele, e foram criados.
6 E os estabeleceu para todo o sempre; fixou-lhes uma ordem que não passará.
7 Louvai ao SENHOR da terra, monstros marinhos e abismos todos;
8 fogo e saraiva, neve e vapor e ventos procelosos que lhe executam a palavra;
9 montes e todos os outeiros, árvores frutíferas e todos os cedros;
10 feras e gados, répteis e voláteis;
11 reis da terra e todos os povos, príncipes e todos os juízes da terra;
12 rapazes e donzelas, velhos e crianças.
13 Louvem o nome do SENHOR, porque só o seu nome é excelso; a sua majestade é acima da terra e do céu.
14 Ele exalta o poder do seu povo, o louvor de todos os seus santos, dos filhos de Israel, povo que lhe é chegado. Aleluia!
148 Praise ye the Lord. Praise ye the Lord from the heavens: praise him in the heights.
2 Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts. 3 Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light. 4 Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be above the heavens. 5 Let them praise the name of the Lord: for he commanded, and they were created. 6 He hath also stablished them for ever and ever: he hath made a decree which shall not pass. 7 Praise the Lord from the earth, ye dragons, and all deeps: 8 Fire, and hail; snow, and vapours; stormy wind fulfilling his word: 9 Mountains, and all hills; fruitful trees, and all cedars: 10 Beasts, and all cattle; creeping things, and flying fowl: 11 Kings of the earth, and all people; princes, and all judges of the earth: 12 Both young men, and maidens; old men, and children: 13 Let them praise the name of the Lord: for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven. 14 He also exalteth the horn of his people, the praise of all his saints; even of the children of Israel, a people near unto him. Praise ye the Lord.

Jeremias 8
1 Naquele tempo, diz o SENHOR, lançarão para fora das suas sepulturas os ossos dos reis e dos príncipes de Judá, os ossos dos sacerdotes e dos profetas e os ossos dos habitantes de Jerusalém;
2 espalhá-los-ão ao sol, e à lua, e a todo o exército do céu, a quem tinham amado, e a quem serviram, e após quem tinham ido, e a quem procuraram, e diante de quem se tinham prostrado; não serão recolhidos, nem sepultados; serão como esterco sobre a terra.
3 Escolherão antes a morte do que a vida todos os que restarem desta raça malvada que ficar nos lugares para onde os dispersei, diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos.
4 Dize-lhes mais: Assim diz o SENHOR: Quando caem os homens, não se tornam a levantar? Quando alguém se desvia do caminho, não torna a voltar?
5 Por que, pois, este povo de Jerusalém se desvia, apostatando continuamente? Persiste no engano e não quer voltar.
6 Eu escutei e ouvi; não falam o que é reto, ninguém há que se arrependa da sua maldade, dizendo: Que fiz eu? Cada um corre a sua carreira como um cavalo que arremete com ímpeto na batalha.
7 Até a cegonha no céu conhece as suas estações; a rola, a andorinha e o grou observam o tempo da sua arribação; mas o meu povo não conhece o juízo do SENHOR.
8 Como, pois, dizeis: Somos sábios, e a lei do SENHOR está conosco? Pois, com efeito, a falsa pena dos escribas a converteu em mentira.
9 Os sábios serão envergonhados, aterrorizados e presos; eis que rejeitaram a palavra do SENHOR; que sabedoria é essa que eles têm?
10 Portanto, darei suas mulheres a outros, e os seus campos, a novos possuidores; porque, desde o menor deles até ao maior, cada um se dá à ganância, e tanto o profeta como o sacerdote usam de falsidade.
11 Curam superficialmente a ferida do meu povo, dizendo: Paz, paz; quando não há paz.
12 Serão envergonhados, porque cometem abominação sem sentir por isso vergonha; nem sabem que coisa é envergonhar-se. Portanto, cairão com os que caem; quando eu os castigar, tropeçarão, diz o SENHOR.
13 Eu os consumirei de todo, diz o SENHOR; não haverá uvas na vide, nem figos na figueira, e a folha já está murcha; e já lhes designei os que passarão sobre eles.
14 Por que estamos ainda assentados aqui? Reuni-vos, e entremos nas cidades fortificadas e ali pereçamos; pois o SENHOR já nos decretou o perecimento e nos deu a beber água venenosa, porquanto pecamos contra o SENHOR.
15 Espera-se a paz, e nada há de bom; o tempo da cura, e eis o terror.
16 Desde Dã se ouve o resfolegar dos seus cavalos; toda a terra treme à voz dos rinchos dos seus garanhões; e vêm e devoram a terra e a sua abundância, a cidade e os que habitam nela.
17 Porque eis que envio para entre vós serpentes, áspides contra as quais não há encantamento, e vos morderão, diz o SENHOR.
18 Oh! Se eu pudesse consolar-me na minha tristeza! O meu coração desfalece dentro de mim.
19 Eis a voz do clamor da filha do meu povo de terra mui remota: Não está o SENHOR em Sião? Não está nela o seu Rei? Por que me provocaram à ira com as suas imagens de escultura, com os ídolos dos estrangeiros?
20 Passou a sega, findou o verão, e nós não estamos salvos.
21 Estou quebrantado pela ferida da filha do meu povo; estou de luto; o espanto se apoderou de mim.
22 Acaso, não há bálsamo em Gileade? Ou não há lá médico? Por que, pois, não se realizou a cura da filha do meu povo?
8 At that time, saith the Lord, they shall bring out the bones of the kings of Judah, and the bones of his princes, and the bones of the priests, and the bones of the prophets, and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, out of their graves: 2 And they shall spread them before the sun, and the moon, and all the host of heaven, whom they have loved, and whom they have served, and after whom they have walked, and whom they have sought, and whom they have worshipped: they shall not be gathered, nor be buried; they shall be for dung upon the face of the earth. 3 And death shall be chosen rather than life by all the residue of them that remain of this evil family, which remain in all the places whither I have driven them, saith the Lord of hosts. 4 Moreover thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord; Shall they fall, and not arise? shall he turn away, and not return? 5 Why then is this people of Jerusalem slidden back by a perpetual backsliding? they hold fast deceit, they refuse to return. 6 I hearkened and heard, but they spake not aright: no man repented him of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? every one turned to his course, as the horse rusheth into the battle. 7 Yea, the stork in the heaven knoweth her appointed times; and the turtle and the crane and the swallow observe the time of their coming; but my people know not the judgment of the Lord. 8 How do ye say, We are wise, and the law of the Lord is with us? Lo, certainly in vain made he it; the pen of the scribes is in vain. 9 The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: lo, they have rejected the word of the Lord; and what wisdom is in them? 10 Therefore will I give their wives unto others, and their fields to them that shall inherit them: for every one from the least even unto the greatest is given to covetousness, from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely. 11 For they have healed the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace. 12 Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore shall they fall among them that fall: in the time of their visitation they shall be cast down, saith the Lord. 13 I will surely consume them, saith the Lord: there shall be no grapes on the vine, nor figs on the fig tree, and the leaf shall fade; and the things that I have given them shall pass away from them. 14 Why do we sit still? assemble yourselves, and let us enter into the defenced cities, and let us be silent there: for the Lord our God hath put us to silence, and given us water of gall to drink, because we have sinned against the Lord. 15 We looked for peace, but no good came; and for a time of health, and behold trouble! 16 The snorting of his horses was heard from Dan: the whole land trembled at the sound of the neighing of his strong ones; for they are come, and have devoured the land, and all that is in it; the city, and those that dwell therein. 17 For, behold, I will send serpents, cockatrices, among you, which will not be charmed, and they shall bite you, saith the Lord. 18 When I would comfort myself against sorrow, my heart is faint in me. 19 Behold the voice of the cry of the daughter of my people because of them that dwell in a far country: Is not the Lord in Zion? is not her king in her? Why have they provoked me to anger with their graven images, and with strange vanities? 20 The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved. 21 For the hurt of the daughter of my people am I hurt; I am black; astonishment hath taken hold on me. 22 Is there no balm in Gilead; is there no physician there? why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered?
