Josué 18
1 Reuniu-se toda a congregação dos filhos de Israel em Siló, e ali armaram a tenda da congregação; e a terra estava sujeita diante deles.
2 Dentre os filhos de Israel ficaram sete tribos que ainda não tinham repartido a sua herança.
3 Disse Josué aos filhos de Israel: Até quando sereis remissos em passardes para possuir a terra que o SENHOR, Deus de vossos pais, vos deu?
4 De cada tribo escolhei três homens, para que eu os envie, eles se disponham, e corram a terra, e façam dela um gráfico relativamente à herança das tribos, e se tornem a mim.
5 Dividirão a terra em sete partes: Judá ficará no seu território, ao sul, e a casa de José, no seu, ao norte.
6 Em sete partes fareis o gráfico da terra e mo trareis a mim, para que eu aqui vos lance as sortes perante o SENHOR, nosso Deus.
7 Porquanto os levitas não têm parte entre vós, pois o sacerdócio do SENHOR é a sua parte. Gade, e Rúben, e a meia tribo de Manassés já haviam recebido a sua herança dalém do Jordão, para o oriente, a qual lhes deu Moisés, servo do SENHOR.
8 Dispuseram-se, pois, aqueles homens e se foram, e Josué deu ordem aos que iam levantar o gráfico da terra, dizendo: Ide, correi a terra, levantai-lhe o gráfico e tornai a mim; aqui vos lançarei as sortes perante o SENHOR, em Siló.
9 Foram, pois, os homens, passaram pela terra, levantaram dela o gráfico, cidade por cidade, em sete partes, num livro, e voltaram a Josué, ao arraial em Siló.
10 Então, Josué lhes lançou as sortes em Siló, perante o SENHOR; e ali repartiu Josué a terra, segundo as suas divisões, aos filhos de Israel.
11 Saiu a sorte da tribo dos filhos de Benjamim, segundo as suas famílias; e o território da sua sorte caiu entre os filhos de Judá e os filhos de José.
12 O seu limite foi para o lado norte desde o Jordão; subia ao lado de Jericó, para o norte, e subia pela montanha, para o ocidente, para terminar no deserto de Bete-Áven.
13 E dali passava o limite a Luz, ao lado de Luz (que é Betel), para o sul; descia a Atarote-Adar, ao pé do monte que está do lado sul de Bete-Horom de baixo.
14 Seguia o limite, e tornava ao lado ocidental, para o sul do monte que está defronte de Bete-Horom, para o sul, e terminava em Quiriate-Baal (que é Quiriate-Jearim), cidade dos filhos de Judá; este era o lado ocidental.
15 O lado do sul começava na extremidade oriental de Quiriate-Jearim e seguia até à fonte das águas de Neftoa;
16 descia o limite até à extremidade do monte que está defronte do vale do Filho de Hinom, ao norte do vale dos Refains, e descia pelo vale de Hinom do lado dos jebuseus, para o sul; e baixava a En-Rogel;
17 volvia-se para o norte, chegava a En-Semes, de onde passava para Gelilote, que está defronte da subida de Adumim, e descia à pedra de Boã, filho de Rúben;
18 passava pela vertente norte, defronte da planície, e descia à planície.
19 Depois, passava o limite até ao lado de Bete-Hogla, para o norte, para terminar na baía do mar Salgado, na desembocadura do Jordão, ao sul; este era o limite do sul.
20 Do lado oriental, o Jordão era o seu limite; esta era a herança dos filhos de Benjamim nos seus limites em redor, segundo as suas famílias.
21 As cidades da tribo dos filhos de Benjamim, segundo as suas famílias, eram: Jericó, Bete-Hogla, Emeque-Quesis,
22 Bete-Arabá, Zemaraim, Betel,
23 Avim, Pará, Ofra,
24 Quefar-Amonai, Ofni e Gaba; ao todo, doze cidades com suas aldeias.
25 Gibeão, Ramá, Beerote,
26 Mispa, Cefira, Mosa,
27 Requém, Irpeel, Tarala,
28 Zela, Elefe, Jebus (esta é Jerusalém), Gibeá e Quiriate; ao todo, catorze cidades com suas aldeias; esta era a herança dos filhos de Benjamim, segundo as suas famílias.
18 And the whole congregation of the children of Israel assembled together at Shiloh, and set up the tabernacle of the congregation there. And the land was subdued before them. 2 And there remained among the children of Israel seven tribes, which had not yet received their inheritance. 3 And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long are ye slack to go to possess the land, which the Lord God of your fathers hath given you? 4 Give out from among you three men for each tribe: and I will send them, and they shall rise, and go through the land, and describe it according to the inheritance of them; and they shall come again to me. 5 And they shall divide it into seven parts: Judah shall abide in their coast on the south, and the house of Joseph shall abide in their coasts on the north. 6 Ye shall therefore describe the land into seven parts, and bring the description hither to me, that I may cast lots for you here before the Lord our God. 7 But the Levites have no part among you; for the priesthood of the Lord is their inheritance: and Gad, and Reuben, and half the tribe of Manasseh, have received their inheritance beyond Jordan on the east, which Moses the servant of the Lord gave them. 8 And the men arose, and went away: and Joshua charged them that went to describe the land, saying, Go and walk through the land, and describe it, and come again to me, that I may here cast lots for you before the Lord in Shiloh. 9 And the men went and passed through the land, and described it by cities into seven parts in a book, and came again to Joshua to the host at Shiloh. 10 And Joshua cast lots for them in Shiloh before the Lord: and there Joshua divided the land unto the children of Israel according to their divisions. 11 And the lot of the tribe of the children of Benjamin came up according to their families: and the coast of their lot came forth between the children of Judah and the children of Joseph. 12 And their border on the north side was from Jordan; and the border went up to the side of Jericho on the north side, and went up through the mountains westward; and the goings out thereof were at the wilderness of Bethaven. 13 And the border went over from thence toward Luz, to the side of Luz, which is Bethel, southward; and the border descended to Atarothadar, near the hill that lieth on the south side of the nether Bethhoron. 14 And the border was drawn thence, and compassed the corner of the sea southward, from the hill that lieth before Bethhoron southward; and the goings out thereof were at Kirjathbaal, which is Kirjathjearim, a city of the children of Judah: this was the west quarter. 15 And the south quarter was from the end of Kirjathjearim, and the border went out on the west, and went out to the well of waters of Nephtoah: 16 And the border came down to the end of the mountain that lieth before the valley of the son of Hinnom, and which is in the valley of the giants on the north, and descended to the valley of Hinnom, to the side of Jebusi on the south, and descended to Enrogel, 17 And was drawn from the north, and went forth to Enshemesh, and went forth toward Geliloth, which is over against the going up of Adummim, and descended to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben, 18 And passed along toward the side over against Arabah northward, and went down unto Arabah: 19 And the border passed along to the side of Bethhoglah northward: and the outgoings of the border were at the north bay of the salt sea at the south end of Jordan: this was the south coast. 20 And Jordan was the border of it on the east side. This was the inheritance of the children of Benjamin, by the coasts thereof round about, according to their families. 21 Now the cities of the tribe of the children of Benjamin according to their families were Jericho, and Bethhoglah, and the valley of Keziz, 22 And Betharabah, and Zemaraim, and Bethel, 23 And Avim, and Pharah, and Ophrah, 24 And Chepharhaammonai, and Ophni, and Gaba; twelve cities with their villages: 25 Gibeon, and Ramah, and Beeroth, 26 And Mizpeh, and Chephirah, and Mozah, 27 And Rekem, and Irpeel, and Taralah, 28 And Zelah, Eleph, and Jebusi, which is Jerusalem, Gibeath, and Kirjath; fourteen cities with their villages. Josué 19
1 Saiu a segunda sorte a Simeão, à tribo dos filhos de Simeão, segundo as suas famílias, e foi a sua herança no meio da dos filhos de Judá.
2 Na herança, tiveram: Berseba, Seba, Molada,
3 Hazar-Sual, Balá, Ezém,
4 Eltolade, Betul, Horma,
5 Ziclague, Bete-Marcabote, Hazar-Susa,
6 Bete-Lebaote e Saruém; ao todo, treze cidades com suas aldeias.
7 Aim, Rimom, Eter e Asã; ao todo, quatro cidades com suas aldeias.
8 E todas as aldeias que havia em redor destas cidades, até Baalate-Ber, que é Ramá do Neguebe; esta era a herança da tribo dos filhos de Simeão, segundo as suas famílias.
9 A herança dos filhos de Simeão se tirou de entre a porção dos filhos de Judá, pois a herança destes era demasiadamente grande para eles, pelo que os filhos de Simeão tiveram a sua herança no meio deles.
10 Saiu a terceira sorte aos filhos de Zebulom, segundo as suas famílias. O limite da sua herança ia até Saride.
11 Subia o seu limite, pelo ocidente, a Marala, tocava em Dabesete e chegava até ao ribeiro que está defronte de Jocneão.
12 De Saride, dava volta para o oriente, para o nascente do sol, até ao limite de Quislote-Tabor, saía a Daberate, e ia subindo a Jafia;
13 dali, passava, para o nascente, a Gate-Hefer, a Ete-Cazim, ia a Rimom, que se estendia até Neá,
14 e, rodeando-a, o limite passava, para o norte, a Hanatom e terminava no vale de Ifta-El.
15 Ainda Catate, Naalal, Sinrom, Idala e Belém, completando doze cidades com suas aldeias.
16 Esta era a herança dos filhos de Zebulom, segundo as suas famílias; estas cidades com suas aldeias.
17 A quarta sorte saiu a Issacar, aos filhos de Issacar, segundo as suas famílias.
18 O seu território incluía Jezreel, Quesulote, Suném,
19 Hafaraim, Siom, Anacarate,
20 Rabite, Quisião, Ebes,
21 Remete, En-Ganim, En-Hada e Bete-Pasês.
22 O limite tocava o Tabor, Saazima e Bete-Semes e terminava no Jordão; ao todo, dezesseis cidades com suas aldeias.
23 Esta era a herança da tribo dos filhos de Issacar, segundo as suas famílias; estas cidades com suas aldeias.
24 Saiu a quinta sorte à tribo dos filhos de Aser, segundo as suas famílias.
25 O seu território incluía Helcate, Hali, Béten, Acsafe,
26 Alameleque, Amade e Misal; e tocava o Carmelo, para o ocidente, e Sior-Libnate;
27 volvendo-se para o nascente do sol, Bete-Dagom, tocava Zebulom e o vale de Ifta-El, ao norte de Bete-Emeque e de Neiel, e vinha sair a Cabul, pela esquerda,
28 Ebrom, Reobe, Hamom e Caná, até à grande Sidom.
29 Voltava o limite a Ramá e até à forte cidade de Tiro; então, tornava a Hosa, para terminar no mar, na região de Aczibe;
30 também Umá, Afeca e Reobe, completando vinte e duas cidades com suas aldeias.
31 Esta era a herança da tribo dos filhos de Aser, segundo as suas famílias; estas cidades com suas aldeias.
32 Saiu a sexta sorte aos filhos de Naftali, segundo as suas famílias.
33 Era o seu limite desde Helefe, do carvalho em Zaananim, Adami-Nequebe, Jabneel, até Lacum e terminava no Jordão.
34 Voltava o limite, pelo ocidente, a Aznote-Tabor, de onde passava a Hucoque; tocava Zebulom, ao sul, e Aser, ao ocidente, e Judá, pelo Jordão, ao nascente do sol.
35 As cidades fortificadas eram: Zidim, Zer, Hamate, Racate, Quinerete,
36 Adamá, Ramá, Hazor,
37 Quedes, Edrei, En-Hazor,
38 Irom, Migdal-El, Horém, Bete-Anate e Bete-Semes; ao todo, dezenove cidades com suas aldeias.
39 Esta era a herança da tribo dos filhos de Naftali, segundo as suas famílias; estas cidades com suas aldeias.
40 A sétima sorte saiu à tribo dos filhos de Dã, segundo as suas famílias.
41 O território da sua herança incluía Zorá, Estaol, Ir-Semes,
42 Saalabim, Aijalom, Itla,
43 Elom, Timna, Ecrom,
44 Elteque, Gibetom, Baalate,
45 Jeúde, Benê-Beraque, Gate-Rimom,
46 Me-Jarcom e Racom, com o território defronte de Jope.
47 Saiu, porém, pequeno o limite aos filhos de Dã, pelo que subiram os filhos de Dã, e pelejaram contra Lesém, e a tomaram, e a feriram a fio de espada; e, tendo-a possuído, habitaram nela e lhe chamaram Dã, segundo o nome de Dã, seu pai.
48 Esta era a herança da tribo dos filhos de Dã, segundo as suas famílias; estas cidades com suas aldeias.
49 Acabando, pois, de repartir a terra em herança, segundo os seus territórios, deram os filhos de Israel a Josué, filho de Num, herança no meio deles.
50 Deram-lhe, segundo o mandado do SENHOR, a cidade que pediu, Timnate-Sera, na região montanhosa de Efraim; reedificou ele a cidade e habitou nela.
51 Eram estas as heranças que Eleazar, o sacerdote, e Josué, filho de Num, e os cabeças dos pais das famílias repartiram por sorte, em herança, pelas tribos dos filhos de Israel, em Siló, perante o SENHOR, à porta da tenda da congregação. E assim acabaram de repartir a terra.
19 And the second lot came forth to Simeon, even for the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families: and their inheritance was within the inheritance of the children of Judah.
2 And they had in their inheritance Beersheba, and Sheba, and Moladah, 3 And Hazarshual, and Balah, and Azem, 4 And Eltolad, and Bethul, and Hormah, 5 And Ziklag, and Bethmarcaboth, and Hazarsusah, 6 And Bethlebaoth, and Sharuhen; thirteen cities and their villages: 7 Ain, Remmon, and Ether, and Ashan; four cities and their villages: 8 And all the villages that were round about these cities to Baalathbeer, Ramath of the south. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families. 9 Out of the portion of the children of Judah was the inheritance of the children of Simeon: for the part of the children of Judah was too much for them: therefore the children of Simeon had their inheritance within the inheritance of them. 10 And the third lot came up for the children of Zebulun according to their families: and the border of their inheritance was unto Sarid: 11 And their border went up toward the sea, and Maralah, and reached to Dabbasheth, and reached to the river that is before Jokneam; 12 And turned from Sarid eastward toward the sunrising unto the border of Chislothtabor, and then goeth out to Daberath, and goeth up to Japhia, 13 And from thence passeth on along on the east to Gittahhepher, to Ittahkazin, and goeth out to Remmonmethoar to Neah; 14 And the border compasseth it on the north side to Hannathon: and the outgoings thereof are in the valley of Jiphthahel: 15 And Kattath, and Nahallal, and Shimron, and Idalah, and Bethlehem: twelve cities with their villages. 16 This is the inheritance of the children of Zebulun according to their families, these cities with their villages. 17 And the fourth lot came out to Issachar, for the children of Issachar according to their families. 18 And their border was toward Jezreel, and Chesulloth, and Shunem, 19 And Haphraim, and Shihon, and Anaharath, 20 And Rabbith, and Kishion, and Abez, 21 And Remeth, and Engannim, and Enhaddah, and Bethpazzez; 22 And the coast reacheth to Tabor, and Shahazimah, and Bethshemesh; and the outgoings of their border were at Jordan: sixteen cities with their villages. 23 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Issachar according to their families, the cities and their villages. 24 And the fifth lot came out for the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families. 25 And their border was Helkath, and Hali, and Beten, and Achshaph, 26 And Alammelech, and Amad, and Misheal; and reacheth to Carmel westward, and to Shihorlibnath; 27 And turneth toward the sunrising to Bethdagon, and reacheth to Zebulun, and to the valley of Jiphthahel toward the north side of Bethemek, and Neiel, and goeth out to Cabul on the left hand, 28 And Hebron, and Rehob, and Hammon, and Kanah, even unto great Zidon; 29 And then the coast turneth to Ramah, and to the strong city Tyre; and the coast turneth to Hosah; and the outgoings thereof are at the sea from the coast to Achzib: 30 Ummah also, and Aphek, and Rehob: twenty and two cities with their villages. 31 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families, these cities with their villages. 32 The sixth lot came out to the children of Naphtali, even for the children of Naphtali according to their families. 33 And their coast was from Heleph, from Allon to Zaanannim, and Adami, Nekeb, and Jabneel, unto Lakum; and the outgoings thereof were at Jordan: 34 And then the coast turneth westward to Aznothtabor, and goeth out from thence to Hukkok, and reacheth to Zebulun on the south side, and reacheth to Asher on the west side, and to Judah upon Jordan toward the sunrising. 35 And the fenced cities are Ziddim, Zer, and Hammath, Rakkath, and Chinnereth, 36 And Adamah, and Ramah, and Hazor, 37 And Kedesh, and Edrei, and Enhazor, 38 And Iron, and Migdalel, Horem, and Bethanath, and Bethshemesh; nineteen cities with their villages. 39 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Naphtali according to their families, the cities and their villages. 40 And the seventh lot came out for the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families. 41 And the coast of their inheritance was Zorah, and Eshtaol, and Irshemesh, 42 And Shaalabbin, and Ajalon, and Jethlah, 43 And Elon, and Thimnathah, and Ekron, 44 And Eltekeh, and Gibbethon, and Baalath, 45 And Jehud, and Beneberak, and Gathrimmon, 46 And Mejarkon, and Rakkon, with the border before Japho. 47 And the coast of the children of Dan went out too little for them: therefore the children of Dan went up to fight against Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt therein, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father. 48 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families, these cities with their villages. 49 When they had made an end of dividing the land for inheritance by their coasts, the children of Israel gave an inheritance to Joshua the son of Nun among them: 50 According to the word of the Lord they gave him the city which he asked, even Timnathserah in mount Ephraim: and he built the city, and dwelt therein. 51 These are the inheritances, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, divided for an inheritance by lot in Shiloh before the Lord, at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. So they made an end of dividing the country.

1 Aleluia! Cantai ao SENHOR um novo cântico e o seu louvor, na assembléia dos santos.
2 Regozije-se Israel no seu Criador, exultem no seu Rei os filhos de Sião.
3 Louvem-lhe o nome com flauta; cantem-lhe salmos com adufe e harpa.
4 Porque o SENHOR se agrada do seu povo e de salvação adorna os humildes.
5 Exultem de glória os santos, no seu leito cantem de júbilo.
6 Nos seus lábios estejam os altos louvores de Deus, nas suas mãos, espada de dois gumes,
7 para exercer vingança entre as nações e castigo sobre os povos;
8 para meter os seus reis em cadeias e os seus nobres, em grilhões de ferro;
9 para executar contra eles a sentença escrita, o que será honra para todos os seus santos. Aleluia!
149 Praise ye the Lord. Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.
2 Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King. 3 Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp. 4 For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation. 5 Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds. 6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand; 7 To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; 8 To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; 9 To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. 3 Louvai-o ao som da trombeta; louvai-o com saltério e com harpa.
4 Louvai-o com adufes e danças; louvai-o com instrumentos de cordas e com flautas.
5 Louvai-o com címbalos sonoros; louvai-o com címbalos retumbantes.
150 Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.
2 Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness. 3 Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. 4 Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. 5 Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. 6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Jeremias 9
1 Prouvera a Deus a minha cabeça se tornasse em águas, e os meus olhos, em fonte de lágrimas! Então, choraria de dia e de noite os mortos da filha do meu povo.
2 Prouvera a Deus eu tivesse no deserto uma estalagem de caminhantes! Então, deixaria o meu povo e me apartaria dele, porque todos eles são adúlteros, são um bando de traidores;
3 curvam a língua, como se fosse o seu arco, para a mentira; fortalecem-se na terra, mas não para a verdade, porque avançam de malícia em malícia e não me conhecem, diz o SENHOR.
4 Guardai-vos cada um do seu amigo e de irmão nenhum vos fieis; porque todo irmão não faz mais do que enganar, e todo amigo anda caluniando.
5 Cada um zomba do seu próximo, e não falam a verdade; ensinam a sua língua a proferir mentiras; cansam-se de praticar a iniqüidade.
6 Vivem no meio da falsidade; pela falsidade recusam conhecer-me, diz o SENHOR.
7 Portanto, assim diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos: Eis que eu os acrisolarei e os provarei; porque de que outra maneira procederia eu com a filha do meu povo?
8 Flecha mortífera é a língua deles; falam engano; com a boca fala cada um de paz com o seu companheiro, mas no seu interior lhe arma ciladas.
9 Acaso, por estas coisas não os castigaria? – diz o SENHOR; ou não me vingaria eu de nação tal como esta?
10 Pelos montes levantarei choro e pranto e pelas pastagens do deserto, lamentação; porque já estão queimadas, e ninguém passa por elas; já não se ouve ali o mugido de gado; tanto as aves dos céus como os animais fugiram e se foram.
11 Farei de Jerusalém montões de ruínas, morada de chacais; e das cidades de Judá farei uma assolação, de sorte que fiquem desabitadas.
12 Quem é o homem sábio, que entenda isto, e a quem falou a boca do SENHOR, homem que possa explicar por que razão pereceu a terra e se queimou como deserto, de sorte que ninguém passa por ela?
13 Respondeu o SENHOR: Porque deixaram a minha lei, que pus perante eles, e não deram ouvidos ao que eu disse, nem andaram nela.
14 Antes, andaram na dureza do seu coração e seguiram os baalins, como lhes ensinaram os seus pais.
15 Portanto, assim diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos, Deus de Israel: Eis que alimentarei este povo com absinto e lhe darei a beber água venenosa.
16 Espalhá-los-ei entre nações que nem eles nem seus pais conheceram; e enviarei a espada após eles, até que eu venha a consumi-los.
17 Assim diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos: Considerai e chamai carpideiras, para que venham; mandai procurar mulheres hábeis, para que venham.
18 Apressem-se e levantem sobre nós o seu lamento, para que os nossos olhos se desfaçam em lágrimas, e as nossas pálpebras destilem água.
19 Porque uma voz de pranto se ouve de Sião: Como estamos arruinados! Estamos sobremodo envergonhados, porque deixamos a terra, e eles transtornaram as nossas moradas.
20 Ouvi, pois, vós, mulheres, a palavra do SENHOR, e os vossos ouvidos recebam a palavra da sua boca; ensinai o pranto a vossas filhas; e, cada uma à sua companheira, a lamentação.
21 Porque a morte subiu pelas nossas janelas e entrou em nossos palácios; exterminou das ruas as crianças e os jovens, das praças.
22 Fala: Assim diz o SENHOR: Os cadáveres dos homens jazerão como esterco sobre o campo e cairão como gavela atrás do segador, e não há quem a recolha.
23 Assim diz o SENHOR: Não se glorie o sábio na sua sabedoria, nem o forte, na sua força, nem o rico, nas suas riquezas;
24 mas o que se gloriar, glorie-se nisto: em me conhecer e saber que eu sou o SENHOR e faço misericórdia, juízo e justiça na terra; porque destas coisas me agrado, diz o SENHOR.
25 Eis que vêm dias, diz o SENHOR, em que castigarei a todos os circuncidados juntamente com os incircuncisos:
26 ao Egito, e a Judá, e a Edom, e aos filhos de Amom, e a Moabe, e a todos os que cortam os cabelos nas têmporas e habitam no deserto; porque todas as nações são incircuncisas, e toda a casa de Israel é incircuncisa de coração.
9 Oh that my head were waters, and mine eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people! 2 Oh that I had in the wilderness a lodging place of wayfaring men; that I might leave my people, and go from them! for they be all adulterers, an assembly of treacherous men. 3 And they bend their tongues like their bow for lies: but they are not valiant for the truth upon the earth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they know not me, saith the Lord. 4 Take ye heed every one of his neighbour, and trust ye not in any brother: for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbour will walk with slanders. 5 And they will deceive every one his neighbour, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and weary themselves to commit iniquity. 6 Thine habitation is in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know me, saith the Lord. 7 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts, Behold, I will melt them, and try them; for how shall I do for the daughter of my people? 8 Their tongue is as an arrow shot out; it speaketh deceit: one speaketh peaceably to his neighbour with his mouth, but in heart he layeth his wait. 9 Shall I not visit them for these things? saith the Lord: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this? 10 For the mountains will I take up a weeping and wailing, and for the habitations of the wilderness a lamentation, because they are burned up, so that none can pass through them; neither can men hear the voice of the cattle; both the fowl of the heavens and the beast are fled; they are gone. 11 And I will make Jerusalem heaps, and a den of dragons; and I will make the cities of Judah desolate, without an inhabitant. 12 Who is the wise man, that may understand this? and who is he to whom the mouth of the Lord hath spoken, that he may declare it, for what the land perisheth and is burned up like a wilderness, that none passeth through? 13 And the Lord saith, Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice, neither walked therein; 14 But have walked after the imagination of their own heart, and after Baalim, which their fathers taught them: 15 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will feed them, even this people, with wormwood, and give them water of gall to drink. 16 I will scatter them also among the heathen, whom neither they nor their fathers have known: and I will send a sword after them, till I have consumed them. 17 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, Consider ye, and call for the mourning women, that they may come; and send for cunning women, that they may come: 18 And let them make haste, and take up a wailing for us, that our eyes may run down with tears, and our eyelids gush out with waters. 19 For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion, How are we spoiled! we are greatly confounded, because we have forsaken the land, because our dwellings have cast us out. 20 Yet hear the word of the Lord, O ye women, and let your ear receive the word of his mouth, and teach your daughters wailing, and every one her neighbour lamentation. 21 For death is come up into our windows, and is entered into our palaces, to cut off the children from without, and the young men from the streets. 22 Speak, Thus saith the Lord, Even the carcases of men shall fall as dung upon the open field, and as the handful after the harvestman, and none shall gather them. 23 Thus saith the Lord, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: 24 But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Lord. 25 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will punish all them which are circumcised with the uncircumcised; 26 Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all that are in the utmost corners, that dwell in the wilderness: for all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the heart.
