LEITURA Bíblia Sagrada     Versão - João Ferreira de Almeida - 2ª edição PT-BR King James Version Gênesis 15 Mateus  14 Neemias 4 LEITURA  14º DIA  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Gênesis 15 1 Depois destes acontecimentos, veio a palavra do SENHOR a Abrão, numa visão, e disse: Não temas, Abrão, eu sou o teu escudo, e teu galardão será sobremodo grande. 2 Respondeu Abrão: SENHOR Deus, que me haverás de dar, se continuo sem filhos e o herdeiro da minha casa é o damasceno Eliézer? 3 Disse mais Abrão: A mim não me concedeste descendência, e um servo nascido na minha casa será o meu herdeiro. 4 A isto respondeu logo o SENHOR, dizendo: Não será esse o teu herdeiro; mas aquele que será gerado de ti será o teu herdeiro. 5 Então, conduziu-o até fora e disse: Olha para os céus e conta as estrelas, se é que o podes. E lhe disse: Será assim a tua posteridade. 6 Ele creu no SENHOR, e isso lhe foi imputado para justiça. 7 Disse-lhe mais: Eu sou o SENHOR que te tirei de Ur dos caldeus, para dar-te por herança esta terra. 8 Perguntou-lhe Abrão: SENHOR Deus, como saberei que hei de possuí-la? 9 Respondeu-lhe: Toma-me uma novilha, uma cabra e um cordeiro, cada qual de três anos, uma rola e um pombinho. 10 Ele, tomando todos estes animais, partiu-os pelo meio e lhes pôs em ordem as metades, umas defronte das outras; e não partiu as aves. 11 Aves de rapina desciam sobre os cadáveres, porém Abrão as enxotava. 12 Ao pôr-do-sol, caiu profundo sono sobre Abrão, e grande pavor e cerradas trevas o acometeram; 13 então, lhe foi dito: Sabe, com certeza, que a tua posteridade será peregrina em terra alheia, e será reduzida à escravidão, e será afligida por quatrocentos anos. 14 Mas também eu julgarei a gente a que têm de sujeitar-se; e depois sairão com grandes riquezas. 15 E tu irás para os teus pais em paz; serás sepultado em ditosa velhice. 16 Na quarta geração, tornarão para aqui; porque não se encheu ainda a medida da iniqüidade dos amorreus. 17 E sucedeu que, posto o sol, houve densas trevas; e eis um fogareiro fumegante e uma tocha de fogo que passou entre aqueles pedaços. 18 Naquele mesmo dia, fez o SENHOR aliança com Abrão, dizendo: À tua descendência dei esta terra, desde o rio do Egito até ao grande rio Eufrates: 19 o queneu, o quenezeu, o cadmoneu, 20 o heteu, o ferezeu, os refains, 21 o amorreu, o cananeu, o girgaseu e o jebuseu. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  15 After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward. 2 And Abram said, Lord God, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus? 3 And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir. 4 And, behold, the word of the Lord came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir. 5 And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. 6 And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness. 7 And he said unto him, I am the Lord that brought thee out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give thee this land to inherit it. 8 And he said, Lord God, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it? 9 And he said unto him, Take me an heifer of three years old, and a she goat of three years old, and a ram of three years old, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon. 10 And he took unto him all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one against another: but the birds divided he not. 11 And when the fowls came down upon the carcases, Abram drove them away. 12 And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him. 13 And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years; 14 And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance. 15 And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age. 16 But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full. 17 And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces. 18 In the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates: 19 The Kenites, and the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites, 20 And the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Rephaims, 21 And the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Girgashites, and the Jebusites. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Mateus 14 1 Por aquele tempo, ouviu o tetrarca Herodes a fama de Jesus 2 e disse aos que o serviam: Este é João Batista; ele ressuscitou dos mortos, e, por isso, nele operam forças miraculosas. 3 Porque Herodes, havendo prendido e atado a João, o metera no cárcere, por causa de Herodias, mulher de Filipe, seu irmão; 4 pois João lhe dizia: Não te é lícito possuí-la. 5 E, querendo matá-lo, temia o povo, porque o tinham como profeta. 6 Ora, tendo chegado o dia natalício de Herodes, dançou a filha de Herodias diante de todos e agradou a Herodes. 7 Pelo que prometeu, com juramento, dar-lhe o que pedisse. 8 Então, ela, instigada por sua mãe, disse: Dá-me, aqui, num prato, a cabeça de João Batista. 9 Entristeceu-se o rei, mas, por causa do juramento e dos que estavam com ele à mesa, determinou que lha dessem; 10 e deu ordens e decapitou a João no cárcere. 11 Foi trazida a cabeça num prato e dada à jovem, que a levou a sua mãe. 12 Então, vieram os seus discípulos, levaram o corpo e o sepultaram; depois, foram e o anunciaram a Jesus. 13 Jesus, ouvindo isto, retirou-se dali num barco, para um lugar deserto, à parte; sabendo-o as multidões, vieram das cidades seguindo-o por terra. 14 Desembarcando, viu Jesus uma grande multidão, compadeceu-se dela e curou os seus enfermos. 15 Ao cair da tarde, vieram os discípulos a Jesus e lhe disseram: O lugar é deserto, e vai adiantada a hora; despede, pois, as multidões para que, indo pelas aldeias, comprem para si o que comer. 16 Jesus, porém, lhes disse: Não precisam retirar-se; dai-lhes, vós mesmos, de comer. 17 Mas eles responderam: Não temos aqui senão cinco pães e dois peixes. 18 Então, ele disse: Trazei-mos. 19 E, tendo mandado que a multidão se assentasse sobre a relva, tomando os cinco pães e os dois peixes, erguendo os olhos ao céu, os abençoou. Depois, tendo partido os pães, deu-os aos discípulos, e estes, às multidões. 20 Todos comeram e se fartaram; e dos pedaços que sobejaram recolheram ainda doze cestos cheios. 21 E os que comeram foram cerca de cinco mil homens, além de mulheres e crianças. 22 Logo a seguir, compeliu Jesus os discípulos a embarcar e passar adiante dele para o outro lado, enquanto ele despedia as multidões. 23 E, despedidas as multidões, subiu ao monte, a fim de orar sozinho. Em caindo a tarde, lá estava ele, só. 24 Entretanto, o barco já estava longe, a muitos estádios da terra, açoitado pelas ondas; porque o vento era contrário. 25 Na quarta vigília da noite, foi Jesus ter com eles, andando por sobre o mar. 26 E os discípulos, ao verem-no andando sobre as águas, ficaram aterrados e exclamaram: É um fantasma! E, tomados de medo, gritaram. 27 Mas Jesus imediatamente lhes disse: Tende bom ânimo! Sou eu. Não temais! 28 Respondendo-lhe Pedro, disse: Se és tu, Senhor, manda-me ir ter contigo, por sobre as águas. 29 E ele disse: Vem! E Pedro, descendo do barco, andou por sobre as águas e foi ter com Jesus. 30 Reparando, porém, na força do vento, teve medo; e, começando a submergir, gritou: Salva-me, Senhor! 31 E, prontamente, Jesus, estendendo a mão, tomou-o e lhe disse: Homem de pequena fé, por que duvidaste? 32 Subindo ambos para o barco, cessou o vento. 33 E os que estavam no barco o adoraram, dizendo: Verdadeiramente és Filho de Deus! 34 Então, estando já no outro lado, chegaram a terra, em Genesaré. 35 Reconhecendo-o os homens daquela terra, mandaram avisar a toda a circunvizinhança e trouxeram-lhe todos os enfermos; 36 e lhe rogavam que ao menos pudessem tocar na orla da sua veste. E todos os que tocaram ficaram sãos. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  14 At that time Herod the tetrarch heard of the fame of Jesus, 2 And said unto his servants, This is John the Baptist; he is risen from the dead; and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him. 3 For Herod had laid hold on John, and bound him, and put him in prison for Herodias' sake, his brother Philip's wife. 4 For John said unto him, It is not lawful for thee to have her. 5 And when he would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet. 6 But when Herod's birthday was kept, the daughter of Herodias danced before them, and pleased Herod. 7 Whereupon he promised with an oath to give her whatsoever she would ask. 8 And she, being before instructed of her mother, said, Give me here John Baptist's head in a charger. 9 And the king was sorry: nevertheless for the oath's sake, and them which sat with him at meat, he commanded it to be given her. 10 And he sent, and beheaded John in the prison. 11 And his head was brought in a charger, and given to the damsel: and she brought it to her mother. 12 And his disciples came, and took up the body, and buried it, and went and told Jesus. 13 When Jesus heard of it, he departed thence by ship into a desert place apart: and when the people had heard thereof, they followed him on foot out of the cities. 14 And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick. 15 And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals. 16 But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat. 17 And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes. 18 He said, Bring them hither to me. 19 And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. 20 And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full. 21 And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children. 22 And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away. 23 And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone. 24 But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. 25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. 26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. 27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. 28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. 29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. 31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? 32 And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased. 33 Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God. 34 And when they were gone over, they came into the land of Gennesaret. 35 And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent out into all that country round about, and brought unto him all that were diseased; 36 And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Neemias 4 1 Tendo Sambalate ouvido que edificávamos o muro, ardeu em ira, e se indignou muito, e escarneceu dos judeus. 2 Então, falou na presença de seus irmãos e do exército de Samaria e disse: Que fazem estes fracos judeus? Permitir-se-lhes-á isso? Sacrificarão? Darão cabo da obra num só dia? Renascerão, acaso, dos montões de pó as pedras que foram queimadas? 3 Estava com ele Tobias, o amonita, e disse: Ainda que edifiquem, vindo uma raposa, derribará o seu muro de pedra. 4 Ouve, ó nosso Deus, pois estamos sendo desprezados; caia o seu opróbrio sobre a cabeça deles, e faze que sejam despojo numa terra de cativeiro. 5 Não lhes encubras a iniqüidade, e não se risque de diante de ti o seu pecado, pois te provocaram à ira, na presença dos que edificavam. 6 Assim, edificamos o muro, e todo o muro se fechou até a metade de sua altura; porque o povo tinha ânimo para trabalhar. 7 Mas, ouvindo Sambalate e Tobias, os arábios, os amonitas e os asdoditas que a reparação dos muros de Jerusalém ia avante e que já se começavam a fechar-lhe as brechas, ficaram sobremodo irados. 8 Ajuntaram-se todos de comum acordo para virem atacar Jerusalém e suscitar confusão ali. 9 Porém nós oramos ao nosso Deus e, como proteção, pusemos guarda contra eles, de dia e de noite. 10 Então, disse Judá: Já desfaleceram as forças dos carregadores, e os escombros são muitos; de maneira que não podemos edificar o muro. 11 Disseram, porém, os nossos inimigos: Nada saberão disto, nem verão, até que entremos no meio deles e os matemos; assim, faremos cessar a obra. 12 Quando os judeus que habitavam na vizinhança deles, dez vezes, nos disseram: De todos os lugares onde moram, subirão contra nós, 13 então, pus o povo, por famílias, nos lugares baixos e abertos, por detrás do muro, com as suas espadas, e as suas lanças, e os seus arcos; 14 inspecionei, dispus-me e disse aos nobres, aos magistrados e ao resto do povo: não os temais; lembrai-vos do Senhor, grande e temível, e pelejai pelos vossos irmãos, vossos filhos, vossas filhas, vossa mulher e vossa casa. 15 E sucedeu que, ouvindo os nossos inimigos que já o sabíamos e que Deus tinha frustrado o desígnio deles, voltamos todos nós ao muro, cada um à sua obra. 16 Daquele dia em diante, metade dos meus moços trabalhava na obra, e a outra metade empunhava lanças, escudos, arcos e couraças; e os chefes estavam por detrás de toda a casa de Judá; 17 os carregadores, que por si mesmos tomavam as cargas, cada um com uma das mãos fazia a obra e com a outra segurava a arma. 18 Os edificadores, cada um trazia a sua espada à cinta, e assim edificavam; o que tocava a trombeta estava junto de mim. 19 Disse eu aos nobres, aos magistrados e ao resto do povo: Grande e extensa é a obra, e nós estamos no muro mui separados, longe uns dos outros. 20 No lugar em que ouvirdes o som da trombeta, para ali acorrei a ter conosco; o nosso Deus pelejará por nós. 21 Assim trabalhávamos na obra; e metade empunhava as lanças desde o raiar do dia até ao sair das estrelas. 22 Também nesse mesmo tempo disse eu ao povo: Cada um com o seu moço fique em Jerusalém, para que de noite nos sirvam de guarda e de dia trabalhem. 23 Nem eu, nem meus irmãos, nem meus moços, nem os homens da guarda que me seguiam largávamos as nossas vestes; cada um se deitava com as armas à sua direita. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  4 But it came to pass, that when Sanballat heard that we builded the wall, he was wroth, and took great indignation, and mocked the Jews. 2 And he spake before his brethren and the army of Samaria, and said, What do these feeble Jews? will they fortify themselves? will they sacrifice? will they make an end in a day? will they revive the stones out of the heaps of the rubbish which are burned? 3 Now Tobiah the Ammonite was by him, and he said, Even that which they build, if a fox go up, he shall even break down their stone wall. 4 Hear, O our God; for we are despised: and turn their reproach upon their own head, and give them for a prey in the land of captivity: 5 And cover not their iniquity, and let not their sin be blotted out from before thee: for they have provoked thee to anger before the builders. 6 So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work. 7 But it came to pass, that when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and the Arabians, and the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites, heard that the walls of Jerusalem were made up, and that the breaches began to be stopped, then they were very wroth, 8 And conspired all of them together to come and to fight against Jerusalem, and to hinder it. 9 Nevertheless we made our prayer unto our God, and set a watch against them day and night, because of them. 10 And Judah said, The strength of the bearers of burdens is decayed, and there is much rubbish; so that we are not able to build the wall. 11 And our adversaries said, They shall not know, neither see, till we come in the midst among them, and slay them, and cause the work to cease. 12 And it came to pass, that when the Jews which dwelt by them came, they said unto us ten times, From all places whence ye shall return unto us they will be upon you. 13 Therefore set I in the lower places behind the wall, and on the higher places, I even set the people after their families with their swords, their spears, and their bows. 14 And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses. 15 And it came to pass, when our enemies heard that it was known unto us, and God had brought their counsel to nought, that we returned all of us to the wall, every one unto his work. 16 And it came to pass from that time forth, that the half of my servants wrought in the work, and the other half of them held both the spears, the shields, and the bows, and the habergeons; and the rulers were behind all the house of Judah. 17 They which builded on the wall, and they that bare burdens, with those that laded, every one with one of his hands wrought in the work, and with the other hand held a weapon. 18 For the builders, every one had his sword girded by his side, and so builded. And he that sounded the trumpet was by me. 19 And I said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, The work is great and large, and we are separated upon the wall, one far from another. 20 In what place therefore ye hear the sound of the trumpet, resort ye thither unto us: our God shall fight for us. 21 So we laboured in the work: and half of them held the spears from the rising of the morning till the stars appeared. 22 Likewise at the same time said I unto the people, Let every one with his servant lodge within Jerusalem, that in the night they may be a guard to us, and labour on the day. 23 So neither I, nor my brethren, nor my servants, nor the men of the guard which followed me, none of us put off our clothes, saving that every one put them off for washing. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..◦ ◦ ◦... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Observações por Blog Heavenly Heavenly "Ele creu no SENHOR, e isso lhe foi  imputado para justiça ." [GÊNESIS 15:6]. É muito fácil confessar somente com os lábios, crer em DEUS. Mas a justificação que procede do Senhor DEUS Altíssimo , então concede-nos uma confissão não de lábios, mas consequentemente da convicção pelo modo de viver. Na Sua Presença. Porque somente ELE pode e quer justificar ao que O buscar.  Seja, quem for. "As misericórdias do SENHOR  são a causa de não sermos consumidos,  porque as SUAS misericórdias  não tem fim; renovam-se cada manhã. Grande é a TUA fidelidade. A minha porção é o SENHOR, diz a minha alma; portanto, esperarei n'ELE.  Bom é o SENHOR para os que esperam por ELE, para a alma que O busca."  LAMENTAÇÕES 3:22-25. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦

LEITURA Bíblia Sagrada    Versão - João Ferreira de Almeida - 2ª edição PT-BR King James Version  Gênesis 14 Mateus 13  Neemias 3 LEITURA  13º DIA  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Gênesis 14 1 Sucedeu naquele tempo que Anrafel, rei de Sinar, Arioque, rei de Elasar, Quedorlaomer, rei de Elão, e Tidal, rei de Goim, 2 fizeram guerra contra Bera, rei de Sodoma, contra Birsa, rei de Gomorra, contra Sinabe, rei de Admá, contra Semeber, rei de Zeboim, e contra o rei de Bela (esta é Zoar). 3 Todos estes se ajuntaram no vale de Sidim (que é o mar Salgado). 4 Doze anos serviram a Quedorlaomer, porém no décimo terceiro se rebelaram. 5 Ao décimo quarto ano, veio Quedorlaomer e os reis que estavam com ele e feriram aos refains em Asterote-Carnaim, e aos zuzins em Hã, e aos emins em Savé-Quiriataim, 6 e aos horeus no seu monte Seir, até El-Parã, que está junto ao deserto. 7 De volta passaram em En-Mispate (que é Cades) e feriram toda a terra dos amalequitas e dos amorreus, que habitavam em Hazazom-Tamar. 8 Então, saíram os reis de Sodoma, de Gomorra, de Admá, de Zeboim e de Bela (esta é Zoar) e se ordenaram e levantaram batalha contra eles no vale de Sidim, 9 contra Quedorlaomer, rei de Elão, contra Tidal, rei de Goim, contra Anrafel, rei de Sinar, contra Arioque, rei de Elasar: quatro reis contra cinco. 10 Ora, o vale de Sidim estava cheio de poços de betume; os reis de Sodoma e de Gomorra fugiram; alguns caíram neles, e os restantes fugiram para um monte. 11 Tomaram, pois, todos os bens de Sodoma e de Gomorra e todo o seu mantimento e se foram. 12 Apossaram-se também de Ló, filho do irmão de Abrão, que morava em Sodoma, e dos seus bens e partiram. 13 Porém veio um, que escapara, e o contou a Abrão, o hebreu; este habitava junto dos carvalhais de Manre, o amorreu, irmão de Escol e de Aner, os quais eram aliados de Abrão. 14 Ouvindo Abrão que seu sobrinho estava preso, fez sair trezentos e dezoito homens dos mais capazes, nascidos em sua casa, e os perseguiu até Dã. 15 E, repartidos contra eles de noite, ele e os seus homens, feriu-os e os perseguiu até Hobá, que fica à esquerda de Damasco. 16 Trouxe de novo todos os bens, e também a Ló, seu sobrinho, os bens dele, e ainda as mulheres, e o povo. 17 Após voltar Abrão de ferir a Quedorlaomer e aos reis que estavam com ele, saiu-lhe ao encontro o rei de Sodoma no vale de Savé, que é o vale do Rei. 18 Melquisedeque, rei de Salém, trouxe pão e vinho; era sacerdote do Deus Altíssimo; 19 abençoou ele a Abrão e disse: Bendito seja Abrão pelo Deus Altíssimo, que possui os céus e a terra; 20 e bendito seja o Deus Altíssimo, que entregou os teus adversários nas tuas mãos. E de tudo lhe deu Abrão o dízimo. 21 Então, disse o rei de Sodoma a Abrão: Dá-me as pessoas, e os bens ficarão contigo. 22 Mas Abrão lhe respondeu: Levanto a mão ao SENHOR, o Deus Altíssimo, o que possui os céus e a terra, 23 e juro que nada tomarei de tudo o que te pertence, nem um fio, nem uma correia de sandália, para que não digas: Eu enriqueci a Abrão; 24 nada quero para mim, senão o que os rapazes comeram e a parte que toca aos homens Aner, Escol e Manre, que foram comigo; estes que tomem o seu quinhão. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  14 And it came to pass in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of nations; 2 That these made war with Bera king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, and Shemeber king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela, which is Zoar. 3 All these were joined together in the vale of Siddim, which is the salt sea. 4 Twelve years they served Chedorlaomer, and in the thirteenth year they rebelled. 5 And in the fourteenth year came Chedorlaomer, and the kings that were with him, and smote the Rephaims in Ashteroth Karnaim, and the Zuzims in Ham, and the Emins in Shaveh Kiriathaim, 6 And the Horites in their mount Seir, unto Elparan, which is by the wilderness. 7 And they returned, and came to Enmishpat, which is Kadesh, and smote all the country of the Amalekites, and also the Amorites, that dwelt in Hazezontamar. 8 And there went out the king of Sodom, and the king of Gomorrah, and the king of Admah, and the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (the same is Zoar;) and they joined battle with them in the vale of Siddim; 9 With Chedorlaomer the king of Elam, and with Tidal king of nations, and Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar; four kings with five. 10 And the vale of Siddim was full of slimepits; and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, and fell there; and they that remained fled to the mountain. 11 And they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their victuals, and went their way. 12 And they took Lot, Abram's brother's son, who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and departed. 13 And there came one that had escaped, and told Abram the Hebrew; for he dwelt in the plain of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner: and these were confederate with Abram. 14 And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan. 15 And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and smote them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus. 16 And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people. 17 And the king of Sodom went out to meet him after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer, and of the kings that were with him, at the valley of Shaveh, which is the king's dale. 18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God. 19 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth: 20 And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all. 21 And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons, and take the goods to thyself. 22 And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the Lord, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth, 23 That I will not take from a thread even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich: 24 Save only that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men which went with me, Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre; let them take their portion. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Mateus 13 1 Naquele mesmo dia, saindo Jesus de casa, assentou-se à beira-mar; 2 e grandes multidões se reuniram perto dele, de modo que entrou num barco e se assentou; e toda a multidão estava em pé na praia. 3 E de muitas coisas lhes falou por parábolas e dizia: Eis que o semeador saiu a semear. 4 E, ao semear, uma parte caiu à beira do caminho, e, vindo as aves, a comeram. 5 Outra parte caiu em solo rochoso, onde a terra era pouca, e logo nasceu, visto não ser profunda a terra. 6 Saindo, porém, o sol, a queimou; e, porque não tinha raiz, secou-se. 7 Outra caiu entre os espinhos, e os espinhos cresceram e a sufocaram. 8 Outra, enfim, caiu em boa terra e deu fruto: a cem, a sessenta e a trinta por um. 9 Quem tem ouvidos [para ouvir], ouça. 10 Então, se aproximaram os discípulos e lhe perguntaram: Por que lhes falas por parábolas? 11 Ao que respondeu: Porque a vós outros é dado conhecer os mistérios do reino dos céus, mas àqueles não lhes é isso concedido. 12 Pois ao que tem se lhe dará, e terá em abundância; mas, ao que não tem, até o que tem lhe será tirado. 13 Por isso, lhes falo por parábolas; porque, vendo, não vêem; e, ouvindo, não ouvem, nem entendem. 14 De sorte que neles se cumpre a profecia de Isaías: Ouvireis com os ouvidos e de nenhum modo entendereis; vereis com os olhos e de nenhum modo percebereis. 15 Porque o coração deste povo está endurecido, de mau grado ouviram com os ouvidos e fecharam os olhos; para não suceder que vejam com os olhos, ouçam com os ouvidos, entendam com o coração, se convertam e sejam por mim curados. 16 Bem-aventurados, porém, os vossos olhos, porque vêem; e os vossos ouvidos, porque ouvem. 17 Pois em verdade vos digo que muitos profetas e justos desejaram ver o que vedes e não viram; e ouvir o que ouvis e não ouviram. 18 Atendei vós, pois, à parábola do semeador. 19 A todos os que ouvem a palavra do reino e não a compreendem, vem o maligno e arrebata o que lhes foi semeado no coração. Este é o que foi semeado à beira do caminho. 20 O que foi semeado em solo rochoso, esse é o que ouve a palavra e a recebe logo, com alegria; 21 mas não tem raiz em si mesmo, sendo, antes, de pouca duração; em lhe chegando a angústia ou a perseguição por causa da palavra, logo se escandaliza. 22 O que foi semeado entre os espinhos é o que ouve a palavra, porém os cuidados do mundo e a fascinação das riquezas sufocam a palavra, e fica infrutífera. 23 Mas o que foi semeado em boa terra é o que ouve a palavra e a compreende; este frutifica e produz a cem, a sessenta e a trinta por um. 24 Outra parábola lhes propôs, dizendo: O reino dos céus é semelhante a um homem que semeou boa semente no seu campo; 25 mas, enquanto os homens dormiam, veio o inimigo dele, semeou o joio no meio do trigo e retirou-se. 26 E, quando a erva cresceu e produziu fruto, apareceu também o joio. 27 Então, vindo os servos do dono da casa, lhe disseram: Senhor, não semeaste boa semente no teu campo? Donde vem, pois, o joio? 28 Ele, porém, lhes respondeu: Um inimigo fez isso. Mas os servos lhe perguntaram: Queres que vamos e arranquemos o joio? 29 Não! Replicou ele, para que, ao separar o joio, não arranqueis também com ele o trigo. 30 Deixai-os crescer juntos até à colheita, e, no tempo da colheita, direi aos ceifeiros: ajuntai primeiro o joio, atai-o em feixes para ser queimado; mas o trigo, recolhei-o no meu celeiro. 31 Outra parábola lhes propôs, dizendo: O reino dos céus é semelhante a um grão de mostarda, que um homem tomou e plantou no seu campo; 32 o qual é, na verdade, a menor de todas as sementes, e, crescida, é maior do que as hortaliças, e se faz árvore, de modo que as aves do céu vêm aninhar-se nos seus ramos. 33 Disse-lhes outra parábola: O reino dos céus é semelhante ao fermento que uma mulher tomou e escondeu em três medidas de farinha, até ficar tudo levedado. 34 Todas estas coisas disse Jesus às multidões por parábolas e sem parábolas nada lhes dizia; 35 para que se cumprisse o que foi dito por intermédio do profeta: Abrirei em parábolas a minha boca; publicarei coisas ocultas desde a criação [do mundo]. 36 Então, despedindo as multidões, foi Jesus para casa. E, chegando-se a ele os seus discípulos, disseram: Explica-nos a parábola do joio do campo. 37 E ele respondeu: O que semeia a boa semente é o Filho do Homem; 38 o campo é o mundo; a boa semente são os filhos do reino; o joio são os filhos do maligno; 39 o inimigo que o semeou é o diabo; a ceifa é a consumação do século, e os ceifeiros são os anjos. 40 Pois, assim como o joio é colhido e lançado ao fogo, assim será na consumação do século. 41 Mandará o Filho do Homem os seus anjos, que ajuntarão do seu reino todos os escândalos e os que praticam a iniqüidade 42 e os lançarão na fornalha acesa; ali haverá choro e ranger de dentes. 43 Então, os justos resplandecerão como o sol, no reino de seu Pai. Quem tem ouvidos [para ouvir], ouça. 44 O reino dos céus é semelhante a um tesouro oculto no campo, o qual certo homem, tendo-o achado, escondeu. E, transbordante de alegria, vai, vende tudo o que tem e compra aquele campo. 45 O reino dos céus é também semelhante a um que negocia e procura boas pérolas; 46 e, tendo achado uma pérola de grande valor, vende tudo o que possui e a compra. 47 O reino dos céus é ainda semelhante a uma rede que, lançada ao mar, recolhe peixes de toda espécie. 48 E, quando já está cheia, os pescadores arrastam-na para a praia e, assentados, escolhem os bons para os cestos e os ruins deitam fora. 49 Assim será na consumação do século: sairão os anjos, e separarão os maus dentre os justos, 50 e os lançarão na fornalha acesa; ali haverá choro e ranger de dentes. 51 Entendestes todas estas coisas? Responderam-lhe: Sim! 52 Então, lhes disse: Por isso, todo escriba versado no reino dos céus é semelhante a um pai de família que tira do seu depósito coisas novas e coisas velhas. 53 Tendo Jesus proferido estas parábolas, retirou-se dali. 54 E, chegando à sua terra, ensinava-os na sinagoga, de tal sorte que se maravilhavam e diziam: Donde lhe vêm esta sabedoria e estes poderes miraculosos? 55 Não é este o filho do carpinteiro? Não se chama sua mãe Maria, e seus irmãos, Tiago, José, Simão e Judas? 56 Não vivem entre nós todas as suas irmãs? Donde lhe vem, pois, tudo isto? 57 E escandalizavam-se nele. Jesus, porém, lhes disse: Não há profeta sem honra, senão na sua terra e na sua casa. 58 E não fez ali muitos milagres, por causa da incredulidade deles. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  13 The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side. 2 And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore. 3 And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow; 4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up: 5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth: 6 And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away. 7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them: 8 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold. 9 Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. 10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? 11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. 12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath. 13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. 14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: 15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. 16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear. 17 For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them. 18 Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower. 19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side. 20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; 21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended. 22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful. 23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. 24 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: 25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. 26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. 27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? 28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? 29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn. 31 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field: 32 Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof. 33 Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened. 34 All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them: 35 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world. 36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field. 37 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man; 38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; 39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. 40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. 41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; 42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. 43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. 44 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field. 45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: 46 Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it. 47 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind: 48 Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away. 49 So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, 50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. 51 Jesus saith unto them, Have ye understood all these things? They say unto him, Yea, Lord. 52 Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old. 53 And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these parables, he departed thence. 54 And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works? 55 Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? 56 And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things? 57 And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house. 58 And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Neemias 3 1 Então, se dispôs Eliasibe, o sumo sacerdote, com os sacerdotes, seus irmãos, e reedificaram a Porta das Ovelhas; consagraram-na, assentaram-lhe as portas e continuaram a reconstrução até à Torre dos Cem e à Torre de Hananel. 2 Junto a ele edificaram os homens de Jericó; também, ao seu lado, edificou Zacur, filho de Inri. 3 Os filhos de Hassenaá edificaram a Porta do Peixe; colocaram-lhe as vigas e lhe assentaram as portas com seus ferrolhos e trancas. 4 Ao seu lado, reparou Meremote, filho de Urias, filho de Coz; junto deste reparou Mesulão, filho de Berequias, filho de Mesezabel, a cujo lado reparou Zadoque, filho de Baaná. 5 Ao lado destes, repararam os tecoítas; os seus nobres, porém, não se sujeitaram ao serviço do seu senhor. 6 Joiada, filho de Paséia, e Mesulão, filho de Besodias, repararam a Porta Velha; colocaram-lhe as vigas e lhe assentaram as portas com seus ferrolhos e trancas. 7 Junto deles, trabalharam Melatias, gibeonita, e Jadom, meronotita, homens de Gibeão e de Mispa, que pertenciam ao domínio do governador de além do Eufrates. 8 Ao seu lado, reparou Uziel, filho de Haraías, um dos ourives; junto dele, Hananias, um dos perfumistas; e restauraram Jerusalém até ao Muro Largo. 9 Junto a estes, trabalhou Refaías, filho de Hur, maioral da metade de Jerusalém. 10 Ao seu lado, reparou Jedaías, filho de Harumafe, defronte da sua casa; e, ao seu lado, reparou Hatus, filho de Hasabnéias. 11 A outra parte reparou Malquias, filho de Harim, e Hassube, filho de Paate-Moabe, como também a Torre dos Fornos. 12 Ao lado dele, reparou Salum, filho de Haloés, maioral da outra meia parte de Jerusalém, ele e suas filhas. 13 A Porta do Vale, reparou-a Hanum e os moradores de Zanoa; edificaram-na e lhe assentaram as portas com seus ferrolhos e trancas e ainda mil côvados da muralha, até à Porta do Monturo. 14 A Porta do Monturo, reparou-a Malquias, filho de Recabe, maioral do distrito de Bete-Haquerém; ele a edificou e lhe assentou as portas com seus ferrolhos e trancas. 15 A Porta da Fonte, reparou-a Salum, filho de Col-Hozé, maioral do distrito de Mispa; ele a edificou, e a cobriu, e lhe assentou as portas com seus ferrolhos e trancas, e ainda o muro do açude de Selá, junto ao jardim do rei, até aos degraus que descem da Cidade de Davi. 16 Depois dele, reparou Neemias, filho de Azbuque, maioral da metade do distrito de Bete-Zur, até defronte dos sepulcros de Davi, até ao açude artificial e até à casa dos heróis. 17 Depois dele, repararam os levitas, Reum, filho de Bani, e, ao seu lado, Hasabias, maioral da metade do distrito de Queila. 18 Depois dele, repararam seus irmãos: Bavai, filho de Henadade, maioral da metade do distrito de Queila; 19 ao seu lado, reparou Ezer, filho de Jesua, maioral de Mispa, outra parte defronte da subida para a casa das armas, no ângulo do muro. 20 Depois dele, reparou com grande ardor Baruque, filho de Zabai, outra porção, desde o ângulo do muro até à porta da casa de Eliasibe, o sumo sacerdote. 21 Depois dele, reparou Meremote, filho de Urias, filho de Coz, outra porção, desde a porta da casa de Eliasibe até à extremidade da casa de Eliasibe. 22 Depois dele, repararam os sacerdotes que habitavam na campina. 23 Depois, repararam Benjamim e Hassube, defronte da sua casa; depois deles, reparou Azarias, filho de Maaséias, filho de Ananias, junto à sua casa. 24 Depois dele, reparou Binui, filho de Henadade, outra porção, desde a casa de Azarias até ao ângulo e até à esquina. 25 Palal, filho de Uzai, reparou defronte do ângulo e da torre que sai da casa real superior, que está junto ao pátio do cárcere; And next unto him repaired Hattush the son of Hashabniah. 11 Malchijah the son of Harim, and Hashub the son of Pahathmoab, repaired the other piece, and the tower of the furnaces. 12 And next unto him repaired Shallum the son of Halohesh, the ruler of the half part of Jerusalem, he and his daughters. 13 The valley gate repaired Hanun, and the inhabitants of Zanoah; they built it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof, and a thousand cubits on the wall unto the dung gate. 14 But the dung gate repaired Malchiah the son of Rechab, the ruler of part of Bethhaccerem; he built it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof. 15 But the gate of the fountain repaired Shallun the son of Colhozeh, the ruler of part of Mizpah; he built it, and covered it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof, and the wall of the pool of Siloah by the king's garden, and unto the stairs that go down from the city of David. 16 After him repaired Nehemiah the son of Azbuk, the ruler of the half part of Bethzur, unto the place over against the sepulchres of David, and to the pool that was made, and unto the house of the mighty. 17 After him repaired the Levites, Rehum the son of Bani. Next unto him repaired Hashabiah, the ruler of the half part of Keilah, in his part. 18 After him repaired their brethren, Bavai the son of Henadad, the ruler of the half part of Keilah. 19 And next to him repaired Ezer the son of Jeshua, the ruler of Mizpah, another piece over against the going up to the armoury at the turning of the wall. 20 After him Baruch the son of Zabbai earnestly repaired the other piece, from the turning of the wall unto the door of the house of Eliashib the high priest. 21 After him repaired Meremoth the son of Urijah the son of Koz another piece, from the door of the house of Eliashib even to the end of the house of Eliashib. 22 And after him repaired the priests, the men of the plain. 23 After him repaired Benjamin and Hashub over against their house. After him repaired Azariah the son of Maaseiah the son of Ananiah by his house. 24 After him repaired Binnui the son of Henadad another piece, from the house of Azariah unto the turning of the wall, even unto the corner. 25 Palal the son of Uzai, over against the turning of the wall, and the tower which lieth out from the king's high house, that was by the court of the prison. After him Pedaiah the son of Parosh. 26 Moreover the Nethinims dwelt in Ophel, unto the place over against the water gate toward the east, and the tower that lieth out. 27 After them the Tekoites repaired another piece, over against the great tower that lieth out, even unto the wall of Ophel. 28 From above the horse gate repaired the priests, every one over against his house. 29 After them repaired Zadok the son of Immer over against his house. After him repaired also Shemaiah the son of Shechaniah, the keeper of the east gate. 30 After him repaired Hananiah the son of Shelemiah, and Hanun the sixth son of Zalaph, another piece.
