LEITURA Bíblia Sagrada Versão - João Ferreira de Almeida - 2ª edição PT-BR King James Version      Gênesis 49 Lucas 4  Jó 16  Jó 17 LEITURA  17º DIA  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Gênesis 49 1 Depois, chamou Jacó a seus filhos e disse: Ajuntai-vos, e eu vos farei saber o que vos há de acontecer nos dias vindouros: 2 Ajuntai-vos e ouvi, filhos de Jacó; ouvi a Israel, vosso pai. 3 Rúben, tu és meu primogênito, minha força e as primícias do meu vigor, o mais excelente em altivez e o mais excelente em poder. 4 Impetuoso como a água, não serás o mais excelente, porque subiste ao leito de teu pai e o profanaste; subiste à minha cama. 5 Simeão e Levi são irmãos; as suas espadas são instrumentos de violência. 6 No seu conselho, não entre minha alma; com o seu agrupamento, minha glória não se ajunte; porque no seu furor mataram homens, e na sua vontade perversa jarretaram touros. 7 Maldito seja o seu furor, pois era forte, e a sua ira, pois era dura; dividi-los-ei em Jacó e os espalharei em Israel. 8 Judá, teus irmãos te louvarão; a tua mão estará sobre a cerviz de teus inimigos; os filhos de teu pai se inclinarão a ti. 9 Judá é leãozinho; da presa subiste, filho meu. Encurva-se e deita-se como leão e como leoa; quem o despertará? 10 O cetro não se arredará de Judá, nem o bastão de entre seus pés, até que venha Siló; e a ele obedecerão os povos. 11 Ele amarrará o seu jumentinho à vide e o filho da sua jumenta, à videira mais excelente; lavará as suas vestes no vinho e a sua capa, em sangue de uvas. 12 Os seus olhos serão cintilantes de vinho, e os dentes, brancos de leite. 13 Zebulom habitará na praia dos mares e servirá de porto de navios, e o seu limite se estenderá até Sidom. 14 Issacar é jumento de fortes ossos, de repouso entre os rebanhos de ovelhas. 15 Viu que o repouso era bom e que a terra era deliciosa; baixou os ombros à carga e sujeitou-se ao trabalho servil. 16 Dã julgará o seu povo, como uma das tribos de Israel. 17 Dã será serpente junto ao caminho, uma víbora junto à vereda, que morde os talões do cavalo e faz cair o seu cavaleiro por detrás. 18 A tua salvação espero, ó SENHOR! 19 Gade, uma guerrilha o acometerá; mas ele a acometerá por sua retaguarda. 20 Aser, o seu pão será abundante e ele motivará delícias reais. 21 Naftali é uma gazela solta; ele profere palavras formosas. 22 José é um ramo frutífero, ramo frutífero junto à fonte; seus galhos se estendem sobre o muro. 23 Os flecheiros lhe dão amargura, atiram contra ele e o aborrecem. 24 O seu arco, porém, permanece firme, e os seus braços são feitos ativos pelas mãos do Poderoso de Jacó, sim, pelo Pastor e pela Pedra de Israel, 25 pelo Deus de teu pai, o qual te ajudará, e pelo Todo-Poderoso, o qual te abençoará com bênçãos dos altos céus, com bênçãos das profundezas, com bênçãos dos seios e da madre. 26 As bênçãos de teu pai excederão as bênçãos de meus pais até ao cimo dos montes eternos; estejam elas sobre a cabeça de José e sobre o alto da cabeça do que foi distinguido entre seus irmãos. 27 Benjamim é lobo que despedaça; pela manhã devora a presa e à tarde reparte o despojo. 28 São estas as doze tribos de Israel; e isto é o que lhes falou seu pai quando os abençoou; a cada um deles abençoou segundo a bênção que lhe cabia. 29 Depois, lhes ordenou, dizendo: Eu me reúno ao meu povo; sepultai-me, com meus pais, na caverna que está no campo de Efrom, o heteu, 30 na caverna que está no campo de Macpela, fronteiro a Manre, na terra de Canaã, a qual Abraão comprou de Efrom com aquele campo, em posse de sepultura. 31 Ali sepultaram Abraão e Sara, sua mulher; ali sepultaram Isaque e Rebeca, sua mulher; e ali sepultei Lia; 32 o campo e a caverna que nele está, comprados aos filhos de Hete. 33 Tendo Jacó acabado de dar determinações a seus filhos, recolheu os pés na cama, e expirou, e foi reunido ao seu povo. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  49 And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days. 2 Gather yourselves together, and hear, ye sons of Jacob; and hearken unto Israel your father. 3 Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power: 4 Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel; because thou wentest up to thy father's bed; then defiledst thou it: he went up to my couch. 5 Simeon and Levi are brethren; instruments of cruelty are in their habitations. 6 O my soul, come not thou into their secret; unto their assembly, mine honour, be not thou united: for in their anger they slew a man, and in their selfwill they digged down a wall. 7 Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce; and their wrath, for it was cruel: I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel. 8 Judah, thou art he whom thy brethren shall praise: thy hand shall be in the neck of thine enemies; thy father's children shall bow down before thee. 9 Judah is a lion's whelp: from the prey, my son, thou art gone up: he stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up? 10 The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be. 11 Binding his foal unto the vine, and his ass's colt unto the choice vine; he washed his garments in wine, and his clothes in the blood of grapes: 12 His eyes shall be red with wine, and his teeth white with milk. 13 Zebulun shall dwell at the haven of the sea; and he shall be for an haven of ships; and his border shall be unto Zidon. 14 Issachar is a strong ass couching down between two burdens: 15 And he saw that rest was good, and the land that it was pleasant; and bowed his shoulder to bear, and became a servant unto tribute. 16 Dan shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel. 17 Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that biteth the horse heels, so that his rider shall fall backward. 18 I have waited for thy salvation, O Lord. 19 Gad, a troop shall overcome him: but he shall overcome at the last. 20 Out of Asher his bread shall be fat, and he shall yield royal dainties. 21 Naphtali is a hind let loose: he giveth goodly words. 22 Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall: 23 The archers have sorely grieved him, and shot at him, and hated him: 24 But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:) 25 Even by the God of thy father, who shall help thee; and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lieth under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb: 26 The blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills: they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren. 27 Benjamin shall ravin as a wolf: in the morning he shall devour the prey, and at night he shall divide the spoil. 28 All these are the twelve tribes of Israel: and this is it that their father spake unto them, and blessed them; every one according to his blessing he blessed them. 29 And he charged them, and said unto them, I am to be gathered unto my people: bury me with my fathers in the cave that is in the field of Ephron the Hittite, 30 In the cave that is in the field of Machpelah, which is before Mamre, in the land of Canaan, which Abraham bought with the field of Ephron the Hittite for a possession of a buryingplace. 31 There they buried Abraham and Sarah his wife; there they buried Isaac and Rebekah his wife; and there I buried Leah. 32 The purchase of the field and of the cave that is therein was from the children of Heth. 33 And when Jacob had made an end of commanding his sons, he gathered up his feet into the bed, and yielded up the ghost, and was gathered unto his people. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Lucas 4 1 Jesus, cheio do Espírito Santo, voltou do Jordão e foi guiado pelo mesmo Espírito, no deserto, 2 durante quarenta dias, sendo tentado pelo diabo. Nada comeu naqueles dias, ao fim dos quais teve fome. 3 Disse-lhe, então, o diabo: Se és o Filho de Deus, manda que esta pedra se transforme em pão. 4 Mas Jesus lhe respondeu: Está escrito: Não só de pão viverá o homem. 5 E, elevando-o, mostrou-lhe, num momento, todos os reinos do mundo. 6 Disse-lhe o diabo: Dar-te-ei toda esta autoridade e a glória destes reinos, porque ela me foi entregue, e a dou a quem eu quiser. 7 Portanto, se prostrado me adorares, toda será tua. 8 Mas Jesus lhe respondeu: Está escrito: Ao Senhor, teu Deus, adorarás e só a ele darás culto. 9 Então, o levou a Jerusalém, e o colocou sobre o pináculo do templo, e disse: Se és o Filho de Deus, atira-te daqui abaixo; 10 porque está escrito: Aos seus anjos ordenará a teu respeito que te guardem; 11 e: Eles te susterão nas suas mãos, para não tropeçares nalguma pedra. 12 Respondeu-lhe Jesus: Dito está: Não tentarás o Senhor, teu Deus. 13 Passadas que foram as tentações de toda sorte, apartou-se dele o diabo, até momento oportuno. 14 Então, Jesus, no poder do Espírito, regressou para a Galiléia, e a sua fama correu por toda a circunvizinhança. 15 E ensinava nas sinagogas, sendo glorificado por todos. 16 Indo para Nazaré, onde fora criado, entrou, num sábado, na sinagoga, segundo o seu costume, e levantou-se para ler. 17 Então, lhe deram o livro do profeta Isaías, e, abrindo o livro, achou o lugar onde estava escrito: 18 O Espírito do Senhor está sobre mim, pelo que me ungiu para evangelizar os pobres; enviou-me para proclamar libertação aos cativos e restauração da vista aos cegos, para pôr em liberdade os oprimidos, 19 e apregoar o ano aceitável do Senhor. 20 Tendo fechado o livro, devolveu-o ao assistente e sentou-se; e todos na sinagoga tinham os olhos fitos nele. 21 Então, passou Jesus a dizer-lhes: Hoje, se cumpriu a Escritura que acabais de ouvir. 22 Todos lhe davam testemunho, e se maravilhavam das palavras de graça que lhe saíam dos lábios, e perguntavam: Não é este o filho de José? 23 Disse-lhes Jesus: Sem dúvida, citar-me-eis este provérbio: Médico, cura-te a ti mesmo; tudo o que ouvimos ter-se dado em Cafarnaum, faze-o também aqui na tua terra. 24 E prosseguiu: De fato, vos afirmo que nenhum profeta é bem recebido na sua própria terra. 25 Na verdade vos digo que muitas viúvas havia em Israel no tempo de Elias, quando o céu se fechou por três anos e seis meses, reinando grande fome em toda a terra; 26 e a nenhuma delas foi Elias enviado, senão a uma viúva de Sarepta de Sidom. 27 Havia também muitos leprosos em Israel nos dias do profeta Eliseu, e nenhum deles foi purificado, senão Naamã, o siro. 28 Todos na sinagoga, ouvindo estas coisas, se encheram de ira. 29 E, levantando-se, expulsaram-no da cidade e o levaram até ao cimo do monte sobre o qual estava edificada, para, de lá, o precipitarem abaixo. 30 Jesus, porém, passando por entre eles, retirou-se. 31 E desceu a Cafarnaum, cidade da Galiléia, e os ensinava no sábado. 32 E muito se maravilhavam da sua doutrina, porque a sua palavra era com autoridade. 33 Achava-se na sinagoga um homem possesso de um espírito de demônio imundo, e bradou em alta voz: 34 Ah! Que temos nós contigo, Jesus Nazareno? Vieste para perder-nos? Bem sei quem és: o Santo de Deus! 35 Mas Jesus o repreendeu, dizendo: Cala-te e sai deste homem. O demônio, depois de o ter lançado por terra no meio de todos, saiu dele sem lhe fazer mal. 36 Todos ficaram grandemente admirados e comentavam entre si, dizendo: Que palavra é esta, pois, com autoridade e poder, ordena aos espíritos imundos, e eles saem? 37 E a sua fama corria por todos os lugares da circunvizinhança. 38 Deixando ele a sinagoga, foi para a casa de Simão. Ora, a sogra de Simão achava-se enferma, com febre muito alta; e rogaram-lhe por ela. 39 Inclinando-se ele para ela, repreendeu a febre, e esta a deixou; e logo se levantou, passando a servi-los. 40 Ao pôr-do-sol, todos os que tinham enfermos de diferentes moléstias lhos traziam; e ele os curava, impondo as mãos sobre cada um. 41 Também de muitos saíam demônios, gritando e dizendo: Tu és o Filho de Deus! Ele, porém, os repreendia para que não falassem, pois sabiam ser ele o Cristo. 42 Sendo dia, saiu e foi para um lugar deserto; as multidões o procuravam, e foram até junto dele, e instavam para que não os deixasse. 43 Ele, porém, lhes disse: É necessário que eu anuncie o evangelho do reino de Deus também às outras cidades, pois para isso é que fui enviado. 44 E pregava nas sinagogas da Judéia. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  4 And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, 2 Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered. 3 And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread. 4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. 5 And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. 6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. 7 If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine. 8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. 9 And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence: 10 For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee: 11 And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. 12 And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. 13 And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season. 14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. 15 And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all. 16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. 17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, 18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. 20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. 21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears. 22 And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph's son? 23 And he said unto them, Ye will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in thy country. 24 And he said, Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country. 25 But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land; 26 But unto none of them was Elias sent, save unto Sarepta, a city of Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow. 27 And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian. 28 And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath, 29 And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong. 30 But he passing through the midst of them went his way, 31 And came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on the sabbath days. 32 And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power. 33 And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice, 34 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God. 35 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not. 36 And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out. 37 And the fame of him went out into every place of the country round about. 38 And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house. And Simon's wife's mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her. 39 And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them. 40 Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them. 41 And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking them suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ. 42 And when it was day, he departed and went into a desert place: and the people sought him, and came unto him, and stayed him, that he should not depart from them. 43 And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent. 44 And he preached in the synagogues of Galilee. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Jó 16 1 Então, respondeu Jó: 2 Tenho ouvido muitas coisas como estas; todos vós sois consoladores molestos. 3 Porventura, não terão fim essas palavras de vento? Ou que é que te instiga para responderes assim? 4 Eu também poderia falar como vós falais; se a vossa alma estivesse em lugar da minha, eu poderia dirigir-vos um montão de palavras e menear contra vós outros a minha cabeça; 5 poderia fortalecer-vos com as minhas palavras, e a compaixão dos meus lábios abrandaria a vossa dor. 6 Se eu falar, a minha dor não cessa; se me calar, qual é o meu alívio? 7 Na verdade, as minhas forças estão exaustas; tu, ó Deus, destruíste a minha família toda. 8 Testemunha disto é que já me tornaste encarquilhado, a minha magreza já se levanta contra mim e me acusa cara a cara. 9 Na sua ira me despedaçou e tem animosidade contra mim; contra mim rangeu os dentes e, como meu adversário, aguça os olhos. 10 Homens abrem contra mim a boca, com desprezo me esbofeteiam, e contra mim todos se ajuntam. 11 Deus me entrega ao ímpio e nas mãos dos perversos me faz cair. 12 Em paz eu vivia, porém ele me quebrantou; pegou-me pelo pescoço e me despedaçou; pôs-me por seu alvo. 13 Cercam-me as suas flechas, atravessa-me os rins, e não me poupa, e o meu fel derrama na terra. 14 Fere-me com ferimento sobre ferimento, arremete contra mim como um guerreiro. 15 Cosi sobre a minha pele o cilício e revolvi o meu orgulho no pó. 16 O meu rosto está todo afogueado de chorar, e sobre as minhas pálpebras está a sombra da morte, 17 embora não haja violência nas minhas mãos, e seja pura a minha oração. 18 Ó terra, não cubras o meu sangue, e não haja lugar em que se oculte o meu clamor! 19 Já agora sabei que a minha testemunha está no céu, e, nas alturas, quem advoga a minha causa. 20 Os meus amigos zombam de mim, mas os meus olhos se desfazem em lágrimas diante de Deus, 21 para que ele mantenha o direito do homem contra o próprio Deus e o do filho do homem contra o seu próximo. 22 Porque dentro de poucos anos eu seguirei o caminho de onde não tornarei. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  16 Then Job answered and said, 2 I have heard many such things: miserable comforters are ye all. 3 Shall vain words have an end? or what emboldeneth thee that thou answerest? 4 I also could speak as ye do: if your soul were in my soul's stead, I could heap up words against you, and shake mine head at you. 5 But I would strengthen you with my mouth, and the moving of my lips should asswage your grief. 6 Though I speak, my grief is not asswaged: and though I forbear, what am I eased? 7 But now he hath made me weary: thou hast made desolate all my company. 8 And thou hast filled me with wrinkles, which is a witness against me: and my leanness rising up in me beareth witness to my face. 9 He teareth me in his wrath, who hateth me: he gnasheth upon me with his teeth; mine enemy sharpeneth his eyes upon me. 10 They have gaped upon me with their mouth; they have smitten me upon the cheek reproachfully; they have gathered themselves together against me. 11 God hath delivered me to the ungodly, and turned me over into the hands of the wicked. 12 I was at ease, but he hath broken me asunder: he hath also taken me by my neck, and shaken me to pieces, and set me up for his mark. 13 His archers compass me round about, he cleaveth my reins asunder, and doth not spare; he poureth out my gall upon the ground. 14 He breaketh me with breach upon breach, he runneth upon me like a giant. 15 I have sewed sackcloth upon my skin, and defiled my horn in the dust. 16 My face is foul with weeping, and on my eyelids is the shadow of death; 17 Not for any injustice in mine hands: also my prayer is pure. 18 O earth, cover not thou my blood, and let my cry have no place. 19 Also now, behold, my witness is in heaven, and my record is on high. 20 My friends scorn me: but mine eye poureth out tears unto God. 21 O that one might plead for a man with God, as a man pleadeth for his neighbour! 22 When a few years are come, then I shall go the way whence I shall not return. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Jó 17 1 O meu espírito se vai consumindo, os meus dias se vão apagando, e só tenho perante mim a sepultura. 2 Estou, de fato, cercado de zombadores, e os meus olhos são obrigados a lhes contemplar a provocação. 3 Dá-me, pois, um penhor; sê o meu fiador para contigo mesmo; quem mais haverá que se possa comprometer comigo? 4 Porque ao seu coração encobriste o entendimento, pelo que não os exaltarás. 5 Se alguém oferece os seus amigos como presa, os olhos de seus filhos desfalecerão. 6 Mas a mim me pôs por provérbio dos povos; tornei-me como aquele em cujo rosto se cospe. 7 Pelo que já se escureceram de mágoa os meus olhos, e já todos os meus membros são como a sombra; 8 os retos pasmam disto, e o inocente se levanta contra o ímpio. 9 Contudo, o justo segue o seu caminho, e o puro de mãos cresce mais e mais em força. 10 Mas tornai-vos, todos vós, e vinde cá; porque sábio nenhum acharei entre vós. 11 Os meus dias passaram, e se malograram os meus propósitos, as aspirações do meu coração. 12 Convertem-me a noite em dia, e a luz, dizem, está perto das trevas. 13 Mas, se eu aguardo já a sepultura por minha casa; se nas trevas estendo a minha cama; 14 se ao sepulcro eu clamo: tu és meu pai; e aos vermes: vós sois minha mãe e minha irmã, 15 onde está, pois, a minha esperança? Então, José tomou consigo a seus dois filhos, Manassés e Efraim. 2 E avisaram a Jacó: Eis que José, teu filho, vem ter contigo. Esforçou-se Israel e se assentou no leito. 3 Disse Jacó a José: O Deus Todo-Poderoso me apareceu em Luz, na terra de Canaã, e me abençoou, 4 e me disse: Eis que te farei fecundo, e te multiplicarei, e te tornarei multidão de povos, e à tua descendência darei esta terra em possessão perpétua. 5 Agora, pois, os teus dois filhos, que te nasceram na terra do Egito, antes que eu viesse a ti no Egito, são meus; Efraim e Manassés serão meus, como Rúben e Simeão. 6 Mas a tua descendência, que gerarás depois deles, será tua; segundo o nome de um de seus irmãos serão chamados na sua herança. 7 Vindo, pois, eu de Padã, me morreu, com pesar meu, Raquel na terra de Canaã, no caminho, havendo ainda pequena distância para chegar a Efrata; sepultei-a ali no caminho de Efrata, que é Belém. 8 Tendo Israel visto os filhos de José, disse: Quem são estes? 9 Respondeu José a seu pai: São meus filhos, que Deus me deu aqui. Faze-os chegar a mim, disse ele, para que eu os abençoe. 10 Os olhos de Israel já se tinham escurecido por causa da velhice, de modo que não podia ver bem. José, pois, fê-los chegar a ele; e ele os beijou e os abraçou. 11 Então, disse Israel a José: Eu não cuidara ver o teu rosto; e eis que Deus me fez ver os teus filhos também. 12 E José, tirando-os dentre os joelhos de seu pai, inclinou-se à terra diante da sua face. 13 Depois, tomou José a ambos, a Efraim na sua mão direita, à esquerda de Israel, e a Manassés na sua esquerda, à direita de Israel, e fê-los chegar a ele. 14 Mas Israel estendeu a mão direita e a pôs sobre a cabeça de Efraim, que era o mais novo, e a sua esquerda sobre a cabeça de Manassés, cruzando assim as mãos, não obstante ser Manassés o primogênito. 15 E abençoou a José, dizendo: O Deus em cuja presença andaram meus pais Abraão e Isaque, o Deus que me sustentou durante a minha vida até este dia, 16 o Anjo que me tem livrado de todo mal, abençoe estes rapazes; seja neles chamado o meu nome e o nome de meus pais Abraão e Isaque; e cresçam em multidão no meio da terra. 17 Vendo José que seu pai pusera a mão direita sobre a cabeça de Efraim, foi-lhe isto desagradável, e tomou a mão de seu pai para mudar da cabeça de Efraim para a cabeça de Manassés. 18 E disse José a seu pai: Não assim, meu pai, pois o primogênito é este; põe a mão direita sobre a cabeça dele. 19 Mas seu pai o recusou e disse: Eu sei, meu filho, eu o sei; ele também será um povo, também ele será grande; contudo, o seu irmão menor será maior do que ele, e a sua descendência será uma multidão de nações. 20 Assim, os abençoou naquele dia, declarando: Por vós Israel abençoará, dizendo: Deus te faça como a Efraim e como a Manassés. E pôs o nome de Efraim adiante do de Manassés. 21 Depois, disse Israel a José: Eis que eu morro, mas Deus será convosco e vos fará voltar à terra de vossos pais. 22 Dou-te, de mais que a teus irmãos, um declive montanhoso, o qual tomei da mão dos amorreus com a minha espada e com o meu arco. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  48 And it came to pass after these things, that one told Joseph, Behold, thy father is sick: and he took with him his two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim. 2 And one told Jacob, and said, Behold, thy son Joseph cometh unto thee: and Israel strengthened himself, and sat upon the bed. 3 And Jacob said unto Joseph, God Almighty appeared unto me at Luz in the land of Canaan, and blessed me, 4 And said unto me, Behold, I will make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, and I will make of thee a multitude of people; and will give this land to thy seed after thee for an everlasting possession. 5 And now thy two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, which were born unto thee in the land of Egypt before I came unto thee into Egypt, are mine; as Reuben and Simeon, they shall be mine. 6 And thy issue, which thou begettest after them, shall be thine, and shall be called after the name of their brethren in their inheritance. 7 And as for me, when I came from Padan, Rachel died by me in the land of Canaan in the way, when yet there was but a little way to come unto Ephrath: and I buried her there in the way of Ephrath; the same is Bethlehem. 8 And Israel beheld Joseph's sons, and said, Who are these? 9 And Joseph said unto his father, They are my sons, whom God hath given me in this place. And he said, Bring them, I pray thee, unto me, and I will bless them. 10 Now the eyes of Israel were dim for age, so that he could not see. E encher-se-á a si mesmo de vento oriental, 3 argüindo com palavras que de nada servem e com razões de que nada aproveita? 4 Tornas vão o temor de Deus e diminuis a devoção a ele devida. 5 Pois a tua iniqüidade ensina à tua boca, e tu escolheste a língua dos astutos. 6 A tua própria boca te condena, e não eu; os teus lábios testificam contra ti. 7 És tu, porventura, o primeiro homem que nasceu? Ou foste formado antes dos outeiros? 8 Ou ouviste o secreto conselho de Deus e a ti só limitaste a sabedoria? 9 Que sabes tu, que nós não saibamos? Que entendes, que não haja em nós? 10 Também há entre nós encanecidos e idosos, muito mais idosos do que teu pai. 11 Porventura, fazes pouco caso das consolações de Deus e das suaves palavras que te dirigimos nós? 12 Por que te arrebata o teu coração? Por que flamejam os teus olhos, 13 para voltares contra Deus o teu furor e deixares sair tais palavras da tua boca? 14 Que é o homem, para que seja puro? E o que nasce de mulher, para ser justo? 15 Eis que Deus não confia nem nos seus santos; nem os céus são puros aos seus olhos, 16 quanto menos o homem, que é abominável e corrupto, que bebe a iniqüidade como a água! 17 Escuta-me, mostrar-to-ei; e o que tenho visto te contarei, 18 o que os sábios anunciaram, que o ouviram de seus pais e não o ocultaram 19 (aos quais somente se dera a terra, e nenhum estranho passou por entre eles): 20 Todos os dias o perverso é atormentado, no curto número de anos que se reservam para o opressor. 21 O sonido dos horrores está nos seus ouvidos; na prosperidade lhe sobrevém o assolador. 22 Não crê que tornará das trevas, e sim que o espera a espada. 23 Por pão anda vagueando, dizendo: Onde está? Bem sabe que o dia das trevas lhe está preparado, à mão. 24 Assombram-no a angústia e a tribulação; prevalecem contra ele, como o rei preparado para a peleja, 25 porque estendeu a mão contra Deus e desafiou o Todo-Poderoso; 26 arremete contra ele obstinadamente, atrás da grossura dos seus escudos, 27 porquanto cobriu o rosto com a sua gordura e criou enxúndia nas ilhargas; 28 habitou em cidades assoladas, em casas em que ninguém devia morar, que estavam destinadas a se fazerem montões de ruínas. 29 Por isso, não se enriquecerá, nem subsistirá a sua fazenda, nem se estenderão seus bens pela terra. 30 Não escapará das trevas; a chama do fogo secará os seus renovos, e ao assopro da boca de Deus será arrebatado. 31 Não confie, pois, na vaidade, enganando-se a si mesmo, porque a vaidade será a sua recompensa. 32 Esta se lhe consumará antes dos seus dias, e o seu ramo não reverdecerá. 33 Sacudirá as suas uvas verdes, como a vide, e deixará cair a sua flor, como a oliveira; 34 pois a companhia dos ímpios será estéril, e o fogo consumirá as tendas de suborno. 35 Concebem a malícia e dão à luz a iniqüidade, pois o seu coração só prepara enganos. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  15 Then answered Eliphaz the Temanite, and said, 2 Should a wise man utter vain knowledge, and fill his belly with the east wind? 3 Should he reason with unprofitable talk? or with speeches wherewith he can do no good? 4 Yea, thou castest off fear, and restrainest prayer before God. 5 For thy mouth uttereth thine iniquity, and thou choosest the tongue of the crafty. 6 Thine own mouth condemneth thee, and not I: yea, thine own lips testify against thee. 7 Art thou the first man that was born? or wast thou made before the hills? 8 Hast thou heard the secret of God? and dost thou restrain wisdom to thyself? 9 What knowest thou, that we know not? what understandest thou, which is not in us? 10 With us are both the grayheaded and very aged men, much elder than thy father. 11 Are the consolations of God small with thee? is there any secret thing with thee? 12 Why doth thine heart carry thee away? and what do thy eyes wink at, 13 That thou turnest thy spirit against God, and lettest such words go out of thy mouth? 14 What is man, that he should be clean? and he which is born of a woman, that he should be righteous? 15 Behold, he putteth no trust in his saints; yea, the heavens are not clean in his sight. 16 How much more abominable and filthy is man, which drinketh iniquity like water? 17 I will shew thee, hear me; and that which I have seen I will declare; 18 Which wise men have told from their fathers, and have not hid it: 19 Unto whom alone the earth was given, and no stranger passed among them. 20 The wicked man travaileth with pain all his days, and the number of years is hidden to the oppressor. 21 A dreadful sound is in his ears: in prosperity the destroyer shall come upon him. 22 He believeth not that he shall return out of darkness, and he is waited for of the sword. 23 He wandereth abroad for bread, saying, Where is it? he knoweth that the day of darkness is ready at his hand. 24 Trouble and anguish shall make him afraid; they shall prevail against him, as a king ready to the battle. 25 For he stretcheth out his hand against God, and strengtheneth himself against the Almighty. 26 He runneth upon him, even on his neck, upon the thick bosses of his bucklers: 27 Because he covereth his face with his fatness, and maketh collops of fat on his flanks. 28 And he dwelleth in desolate cities, and in houses which no man inhabiteth, which are ready to become heaps. 29 He shall not be rich, neither shall his substance continue, neither shall he prolong the perfection thereof upon the earth. 30 He shall not depart out of darkness; the flame shall dry up his branches, and by the breath of his mouth shall he go away. 31 Let not him that is deceived trust in vanity: for vanity shall be his recompence. 32 It shall be accomplished before his time, and his branch shall not be green. 33 He shall shake off his unripe grape as the vine, and shall cast off his flower as the olive. 34 For the congregation of hypocrites shall be desolate, and fire shall consume the tabernacles of bribery. 35 They conceive mischief, and bring forth vanity, and their belly prepareth deceit. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦
