Os tijolos serviram-lhes de pedra, e o betume, de argamassa. 4 Disseram: Vinde, edifiquemos para nós uma cidade e uma torre cujo tope chegue até aos céus e tornemos célebre o nosso nome, para que não sejamos espalhados por toda a terra. 5 Então, desceu o SENHOR para ver a cidade e a torre, que os filhos dos homens edificavam; 6 e o SENHOR disse: Eis que o povo é um, e todos têm a mesma linguagem. Isto é apenas o começo; agora não haverá restrição para tudo que intentam fazer. 7 Vinde, desçamos e confundamos ali a sua linguagem, para que um não entenda a linguagem de outro. 8 Destarte, o SENHOR os dispersou dali pela superfície da terra; e cessaram de edificar a cidade. 9 Chamou-se-lhe, por isso, o nome de Babel, porque ali confundiu o SENHOR a linguagem de toda a terra e dali o SENHOR os dispersou por toda a superfície dela. 10 São estas as gerações de Sem. Ora, ele era da idade de cem anos quando gerou a Arfaxade, dois anos depois do dilúvio; 11 e, depois que gerou a Arfaxade, viveu Sem quinhentos anos; e gerou filhos e filhas. 12 Viveu Arfaxade trinta e cinco anos e gerou a Salá; 13 e, depois que gerou a Salá, viveu Arfaxade quatrocentos e três anos; e gerou filhos e filhas. 14 Viveu Salá trinta anos e gerou a Héber; 15 e, depois que gerou a Héber, viveu Salá quatrocentos e três anos; e gerou filhos e filhas. 16 Viveu Héber trinta e quatro anos e gerou a Pelegue; 17 e, depois que gerou a Pelegue, viveu Héber quatrocentos e trinta anos; e gerou filhos e filhas. 18 Viveu Pelegue trinta anos e gerou a Reú; 19 e, depois que gerou a Reú, viveu Pelegue duzentos e nove anos; e gerou filhos e filhas. 20 Viveu Reú trinta e dois anos e gerou a Serugue; 21 e, depois que gerou a Serugue, viveu Reú duzentos e sete anos; e gerou filhos e filhas. 22 Viveu Serugue trinta anos e gerou a Naor; 23 e, depois que gerou a Naor, viveu Serugue duzentos anos; e gerou filhos e filhas. 24 Viveu Naor vinte e nove anos e gerou a Tera; 25 e, depois que gerou a Tera, viveu Naor cento e dezenove anos; e gerou filhos e filhas. 26 Viveu Tera setenta anos e gerou a Abrão, a Naor e a Harã. 27 São estas as gerações de Tera. Tera gerou a Abrão, a Naor e a Harã; e Harã gerou a Ló. 28 Morreu Harã na terra de seu nascimento, em Ur dos caldeus, estando Tera, seu pai, ainda vivo. 29 Abrão e Naor tomaram para si mulheres; a de Abrão chamava-se Sarai, a de Naor, Milca, filha de Harã, que foi pai de Milca e de Iscá. 30 Sarai era estéril, não tinha filhos. 31 Tomou Tera a Abrão, seu filho, e a Ló, filho de Harã, filho de seu filho, e a Sarai, sua nora, mulher de seu filho Abrão, e saiu com eles de Ur dos caldeus, para ir à terra de Canaã; foram até Harã, onde ficaram. 32 E, havendo Tera vivido duzentos e cinco anos ao todo, morreu em Harã. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  11 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. 2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there. 3 And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter. 4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. 5 And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. 6 And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. 7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech. 8 So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. 9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the Lord did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the Lord scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth. 10 These are the generations of Shem: Shem was an hundred years old, and begat Arphaxad two years after the flood: 11 And Shem lived after he begat Arphaxad five hundred years, and begat sons and daughters. 12 And Arphaxad lived five and thirty years, and begat Salah: 13 And Arphaxad lived after he begat Salah four hundred and three years, and begat sons and daughters. 14 And Salah lived thirty years, and begat Eber: 15 And Salah lived after he begat Eber four hundred and three years, and begat sons and daughters. 16 And Eber lived four and thirty years, and begat Peleg: 17 And Eber lived after he begat Peleg four hundred and thirty years, and begat sons and daughters. 18 And Peleg lived thirty years, and begat Reu: 19 And Peleg lived after he begat Reu two hundred and nine years, and begat sons and daughters. 20 And Reu lived two and thirty years, and begat Serug: 21 And Reu lived after he begat Serug two hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters. 22 And Serug lived thirty years, and begat Nahor: 23 And Serug lived after he begat Nahor two hundred years, and begat sons and daughters. 24 And Nahor lived nine and twenty years, and begat Terah: 25 And Nahor lived after he begat Terah an hundred and nineteen years, and begat sons and daughters. 26 And Terah lived seventy years, and begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran. 27 Now these are the generations of Terah: Terah begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran begat Lot. 28 And Haran died before his father Terah in the land of his nativity, in Ur of the Chaldees. 29 And Abram and Nahor took them wives: the name of Abram's wife was Sarai; and the name of Nahor's wife, Milcah, the daughter of Haran, the father of Milcah, and the father of Iscah. 30 But Sarai was barren; she had no child. 31 And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son's son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram's wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there. 32 And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died in Haran. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Mateus 10 1 Tendo chamado os seus doze discípulos, deu-lhes Jesus autoridade sobre espíritos imundos para os expelir e para curar toda sorte de doenças e enfermidades. 2 Ora, os nomes dos doze apóstolos são estes: primeiro, Simão, por sobrenome Pedro, e André, seu irmão; Tiago, filho de Zebedeu, e João, seu irmão; 3 Filipe e Bartolomeu; Tomé e Mateus, o publicano; Tiago, filho de Alfeu, e Tadeu; 4 Simão, o Zelote, e Judas Iscariotes, que foi quem o traiu. 5 A estes doze enviou Jesus, dando-lhes as seguintes instruções: Não tomeis rumo aos gentios, nem entreis em cidade de samaritanos; 6 mas, de preferência, procurai as ovelhas perdidas da casa de Israel; 7 e, à medida que seguirdes, pregai que está próximo o reino dos céus. 8 Curai enfermos, ressuscitai mortos, purificai leprosos, expeli demônios; de graça recebestes, de graça dai. 9 Não vos provereis de ouro, nem de prata, nem de cobre nos vossos cintos; 10 nem de alforje para o caminho, nem de duas túnicas, nem de sandálias, nem de bordão; porque digno é o trabalhador do seu alimento. 11 E, em qualquer cidade ou povoado em que entrardes, indagai quem neles é digno; e aí ficai até vos retirardes. 12 Ao entrardes na casa, saudai-a; 13 se, com efeito, a casa for digna, venha sobre ela a vossa paz; se, porém, não o for, torne para vós outros a vossa paz. 14 Se alguém não vos receber, nem ouvir as vossas palavras, ao sairdes daquela casa ou daquela cidade, sacudi o pó dos vossos pés. 15 Em verdade vos digo que menos rigor haverá para Sodoma e Gomorra, no Dia do Juízo, do que para aquela cidade. 16 Eis que eu vos envio como ovelhas para o meio de lobos; sede, portanto, prudentes como as serpentes e símplices como as pombas. 17 E acautelai-vos dos homens; porque vos entregarão aos tribunais e vos açoitarão nas suas sinagogas; 18 por minha causa sereis levados à presença de governadores e de reis, para lhes servir de testemunho, a eles e aos gentios. 19 E, quando vos entregarem, não cuideis em como ou o que haveis de falar, porque, naquela hora, vos será concedido o que haveis de dizer, 20 visto que não sois vós os que falais, mas o Espírito de vosso Pai é quem fala em vós. 21 Um irmão entregará à morte outro irmão, e o pai, ao filho; filhos haverá que se levantarão contra os progenitores e os matarão. 22 Sereis odiados de todos por causa do meu nome; aquele, porém, que perseverar até ao fim, esse será salvo. 23 Quando, porém, vos perseguirem numa cidade, fugi para outra; porque em verdade vos digo que não acabareis de percorrer as cidades de Israel, até que venha o Filho do Homem. 24 O discípulo não está acima do seu mestre, nem o servo, acima do seu senhor. 25 Basta ao discípulo ser como o seu mestre, e ao servo, como o seu senhor. Se chamaram Belzebu ao dono da casa, quanto mais aos seus domésticos? 26 Portanto, não os temais; pois nada há encoberto, que não venha a ser revelado; nem oculto, que não venha a ser conhecido. 27 O que vos digo às escuras, dizei-o a plena luz; e o que se vos diz ao ouvido, proclamai-o dos eirados. 28 Não temais os que matam o corpo e não podem matar a alma; temei, antes, aquele que pode fazer perecer no inferno tanto a alma como o corpo. 29 Não se vendem dois pardais por um asse? E nenhum deles cairá em terra sem o consentimento de vosso Pai. 30 E, quanto a vós outros, até os cabelos todos da cabeça estão contados. 31 Não temais, pois! Bem mais valeis vós do que muitos pardais. 32 Portanto, todo aquele que me confessar diante dos homens, também eu o confessarei diante de meu Pai, que está nos céus; 33 mas aquele que me negar diante dos homens, também eu o negarei diante de meu Pai, que está nos céus. 34 Não penseis que vim trazer paz à terra; não vim trazer paz, mas espada. 35 Pois vim causar divisão entre o homem e seu pai; entre a filha e sua mãe e entre a nora e sua sogra. 36 Assim, os inimigos do homem serão os da sua própria casa. 37 Quem ama seu pai ou sua mãe mais do que a mim não é digno de mim; quem ama seu filho ou sua filha mais do que a mim não é digno de mim; 38 e quem não toma a sua cruz e vem após mim não é digno de mim. 39 Quem acha a sua vida perdê-la-á; quem, todavia, perde a vida por minha causa achá-la-á. 40 Quem vos recebe a mim me recebe; e quem me recebe recebe aquele que me enviou. 41 Quem recebe um profeta, no caráter de profeta, receberá o galardão de profeta; quem recebe um justo, no caráter de justo, receberá o galardão de justo. 42 E quem der a beber, ainda que seja um copo de água fria, a um destes pequeninos, por ser este meu discípulo, em verdade vos digo que de modo algum perderá o seu galardão. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  10 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. 2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; 3 Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus; 4 Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him. 5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: 6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. 8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. 9 Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses, 10 Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat. 11 And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, enquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence. 12 And when ye come into an house, salute it. 13 And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you. 14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet. 15 Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city. 16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. 17 But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues; 18 And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles. 19 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. 20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you. 21 And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death. 22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved. 23 But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come. 24 The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord. 25 It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household? 26 Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known. 27 What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops. 28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. 29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. 30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows. 32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. 33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. 34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. 35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. 36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household. 37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. 39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it. 40 He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. 41 He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward. 42 And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Esdras 10 1 Enquanto Esdras orava e fazia confissão, chorando prostrado diante da Casa de Deus, ajuntou-se a ele de Israel mui grande congregação de homens, de mulheres e de crianças; pois o povo chorava com grande choro. 2 Então, Secanias, filho de Jeiel, um dos filhos de Elão, tomou a palavra e disse a Esdras: Nós temos transgredido contra o nosso Deus, casando com mulheres estrangeiras, dos povos de outras terras, mas, no tocante a isto, ainda há esperança para Israel. 3 Agora, pois, façamos aliança com o nosso Deus, de que despediremos todas as mulheres e os seus filhos, segundo o conselho do Senhor e o dos que tremem ao mandado do nosso Deus; e faça-se segundo a Lei. 4 Levanta-te, pois esta coisa é de tua incumbência, e nós seremos contigo; sê forte e age. 5 Então, Esdras se levantou e ajuramentou os principais sacerdotes, os levitas e todo o Israel, de que fariam segundo esta palavra. E eles juraram. 6 Esdras se retirou de diante da Casa de Deus, e entrou na câmara de Joanã, filho de Eliasibe, e lá não comeu pão, nem bebeu água, porque pranteava por causa da transgressão dos que tinham voltado do exílio. 7 Fez-se passar pregão por Judá e Jerusalém a todos os que vieram do exílio, que deviam ajuntar-se em Jerusalém; 8 e que, se alguém, em três dias, não viesse, segundo o conselho dos príncipes e dos anciãos, todos os seus bens seriam totalmente destruídos, e ele mesmo separado da congregação dos que voltaram do exílio. 9 Então, todos os homens de Judá e Benjamim, em três dias, se ajuntaram em Jerusalém; no dia vinte do mês nono, todo o povo se assentou na praça da Casa de Deus, tremendo por causa desta coisa e por causa das grandes chuvas. 10 Então, se levantou Esdras, o sacerdote, e lhes disse: Vós transgredistes casando-vos com mulheres estrangeiras, aumentando a culpa de Israel. 11 Agora, pois, fazei confissão ao SENHOR, Deus de vossos pais, e fazei o que é do seu agrado; separai-vos dos povos de outras terras e das mulheres estrangeiras. 12 Respondeu toda a congregação e disse em altas vozes: Assim seja; segundo as tuas palavras, assim nos convém fazer. 13 Porém o povo é muito, e, sendo tempo de grandes chuvas, não podemos estar aqui de fora; e não é isto obra de um dia ou dois, pois somos muitos os que transgredimos nesta coisa. 14 Ora, que os nossos príncipes decidam por toda a congregação, e que venham a eles em tempos determinados todos os que em nossas cidades casaram com mulheres estrangeiras, e com estes os anciãos de cada cidade, e os seus juízes, até que desviemos de nós o brasume da ira do nosso Deus, por esta coisa. 15 No entanto, Jônatas, filho de Asael, e Jazeías, filho de Ticvá, se opuseram a esta coisa; e Mesulão e Sabetai, levita, os apoiaram. 16 Assim o fizeram os que voltaram do exílio; então, Esdras, o sacerdote, elegeu nominalmente os homens cabeças de famílias, segundo a casa de seus pais, que se assentaram no dia primeiro do décimo mês, para inquirir nesta coisa; 17 e o concluíram no dia primeiro do primeiro mês, a respeito de todos os homens que casaram com mulheres estrangeiras. 18 Acharam-se dentre os filhos dos sacerdotes estes, que casaram com mulheres estrangeiras: dos filhos de Jesua, filho de Jozadaque, e de seus irmãos: Maaséias, Eliézer, Jaribe e Gedalias. 19 Com um aperto de mão, prometeram despedir suas mulheres e, por serem culpados, ofereceram um carneiro do rebanho pela sua culpa. 20 Dos filhos de Imer: Hanani e Zebadias. 21 Dos filhos de Harim: Maaséias, Elias, Semaías, Jeiel e Uzias. 22 Dos filhos de Pasur: Elioenai, Maaséias, Ismael, Natanael, Jozabade e Elasa. 23 Dos levitas: Jozabade e Simei, Quelaías (este é Quelita), Petaías, Judá e Eliézer. 24 Dos cantores: Eliasibe; dos porteiros: Salum, Telém e Uri. 25 E de Israel: dos filhos de Parós: Ramias, Jezias, Malquias, Miamim, Eleazar, Malquias e Benaia. 26 Dos filhos de Elão: Matanias, Zacarias, Jeiel, Abdi, Jerimote e Elias. 27 Dos filhos de Zatu: Elioenai, Eliasibe, Matanias, Jerimote, Zabade e Aziza. 28 Dos filhos de Bebai: Joanã, Hananias, Zabai e Atlai. 29 Dos filhos de Bani: Mesulão, Maluque, Adaías, Jasube, Seal e Jerimote. 30 Dos filhos de Paate-Moabe: Adna, Quelal, Benaia, Maaséias, Matanias, Bezalel, Binui e Manassés. 31 Dos filhos de Harim: Eliézer, Issias, Malquias, Semaías, Simeão, 32 Benjamim, Maluque e Semarias. 33 Dos filhos de Hasum: Matenai, Matatá, Zabade, Elifelete, Jeremai, Manassés e Simei. 34 Dos filhos de Bani: Maadai, Anrão, Uel, 35 Benaia, Bedias, Queluí, 36 Vanias, Meremote, Eliasibe, 37 Matanias, Matenai, Jaasai, 38 Bani, Binui, Simei, 39 Selemias, Natã, Adaías, 40 Macnadbai, Sasai, Sarai, 41 Azarel, Selemias, Semarias, 42 Salum, Amarias e José. 43 Dos filhos de Nebo: Jeiel, Matitias, Zabade, Zebina, Jadai, Joel e Benaia. 44 Todos estes haviam tomado mulheres estrangeiras, alguns dos quais tinham filhos destas mulheres. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  10 Now when Ezra had prayed, and when he had confessed, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, there assembled unto him out of Israel a very great congregation of men and women and children: for the people wept very sore. 2 And Shechaniah the son of Jehiel, one of the sons of Elam, answered and said unto Ezra, We have trespassed against our God, and have taken strange wives of the people of the land: yet now there is hope in Israel concerning this thing. 3 Now therefore let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the wives, and such as are born of them, according to the counsel of my lord, and of those that tremble at the commandment of our God; and let it be done according to the law. 4 Arise; for this matter belongeth unto thee: we also will be with thee: be of good courage, and do it. 5 Then arose Ezra, and made the chief priests, the Levites, and all Israel, to swear that they should do according to this word. And they sware. 6 Then Ezra rose up from before the house of God, and went into the chamber of Johanan the son of Eliashib: and when he came thither, he did eat no bread, nor drink water: for he mourned because of the transgression of them that had been carried away. 7 And they made proclamation throughout Judah and Jerusalem unto all the children of the captivity, that they should gather themselves together unto Jerusalem; 8 And that whosoever would not come within three days, according to the counsel of the princes and the elders, all his substance should be forfeited, and himself separated from the congregation of those that had been carried away. 9 Then all the men of Judah and Benjamin gathered themselves together unto Jerusalem within three days. It was the ninth month, on the twentieth day of the month; and all the people sat in the street of the house of God, trembling because of this matter, and for the great rain. 10 And Ezra the priest stood up, and said unto them, Ye have transgressed, and have taken strange wives, to increase the trespass of Israel. 11 Now therefore make confession unto the Lord God of your fathers, and do his pleasure: and separate yourselves from the people of the land, and from the strange wives. 12 Then all the congregation answered and said with a loud voice, As thou hast said, so must we do. 13 But the people are many, and it is a time of much rain, and we are not able to stand without, neither is this a work of one day or two: for we are many that have transgressed in this thing. 14 Let now our rulers of all the congregation stand, and let all them which have taken strange wives in our cities come at appointed times, and with them the elders of every city, and the judges thereof, until the fierce wrath of our God for this matter be turned from us. 15 Only Jonathan the son of Asahel and Jahaziah the son of Tikvah were employed about this matter: and Meshullam and Shabbethai the Levite helped them. 16 And the children of the captivity did so. And Ezra the priest, with certain chief of the fathers, after the house of their fathers, and all of them by their names, were separated, and sat down in the first day of the tenth month to examine the matter. 17 And they made an end with all the men that had taken strange wives by the first day of the first month. 18 And among the sons of the priests there were found that had taken strange wives: namely, of the sons of Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brethren; Maaseiah, and Eliezer, and Jarib, and Gedaliah. 19 And they gave their hands that they would put away their wives; and being guilty, they offered a ram of the flock for their trespass. 20 And of the sons of Immer; Hanani, and Zebadiah. 21 And of the sons of Harim; Maaseiah, and Elijah, and Shemaiah, and Jehiel, and Uzziah. 22 And of the sons of Pashur; Elioenai, Maaseiah, Ishmael, Nethaneel, Jozabad, and Elasah. 23 Also of the Levites; Jozabad, and Shimei, and Kelaiah, (the same is Kelita,) Pethahiah, Judah, and Eliezer. 24 Of the singers also; Eliashib: and of the porters; Shallum, and Telem, and Uri. 25 Moreover of Israel: of the sons of Parosh; Ramiah, and Jeziah, and Malchiah, and Miamin, and Eleazar, and Malchijah, and Benaiah. 26 And of the sons of Elam; Mattaniah, Zechariah, and Jehiel, and Abdi, and Jeremoth, and Eliah. 27 And of the sons of Zattu; Elioenai, Eliashib, Mattaniah, and Jeremoth, and Zabad, and Aziza. 28 Of the sons also of Bebai; Jehohanan, Hananiah, Zabbai, and Athlai. 29 And of the sons of Bani; Meshullam, Malluch, and Adaiah, Jashub, and Sheal, and Ramoth. 30 And of the sons of Pahathmoab; Adna, and Chelal, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattaniah, Bezaleel, and Binnui, and Manasseh. 31 And of the sons of Harim; Eliezer, Ishijah, Malchiah, Shemaiah, Shimeon, 32 Benjamin, Malluch, and Shemariah. 33 Of the sons of Hashum; Mattenai, Mattathah, Zabad, Eliphelet, Jeremai, Manasseh, and Shimei. 34 Of the sons of Bani; Maadai, Amram, and Uel, 35 Benaiah, Bedeiah, Chelluh, 36 Vaniah, Meremoth, Eliashib, 37 Mattaniah, Mattenai, and Jaasau, 38 And Bani, and Binnui, Shimei, 39 And Shelemiah, and Nathan, and Adaiah, 40 Machnadebai, Shashai, Sharai, 41 Azareel, and Shelemiah, Shemariah, 42 Shallum, Amariah, and Joseph. 43 Of the sons of Nebo; Jeiel, Mattithiah, Zabad, Zebina, Jadau, and Joel, Benaiah. 44 All these had taken strange wives: and some of them had wives by whom they had children. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Observações por Blog Heavenly Heavenly O pensamento religioso está inserido em todo lugar. e nasceram-lhes filhos depois do dilúvio. 2 Os filhos de Jafé são: Gomer, Magogue, Madai, Javã, Tubal, Meseque e Tiras. 3 Os filhos de Gomer são: Asquenaz, Rifate e Togarma. 4 Os de Javã são: Elisá, Társis, Quitim e Dodanim. 5 Estes repartiram entre si as ilhas das nações nas suas terras, cada qual segundo a sua língua, segundo as suas famílias, em suas nações. 6 Os filhos de Cam: Cuxe, Mizraim, Pute e Canaã. 7 Os filhos de Cuxe: Sebá, Havilá, Sabtá, Raamá e Sabtecá; e os filhos de Raamá: Sabá e Dedã. 8 Cuxe gerou a Ninrode, o qual começou a ser poderoso na terra. 9 Foi valente caçador diante do SENHOR; daí dizer-se: Como Ninrode, poderoso caçador diante do SENHOR. 10 O princípio do seu reino foi Babel, Ereque, Acade e Calné, na terra de Sinar. 11 Daquela terra saiu ele para a Assíria e edificou Nínive, Reobote-Ir e Calá. 12 E, entre Nínive e Calá, a grande cidade de Resém. 13 Mizraim gerou a Ludim, a Anamim, a Leabim, a Naftuim, 14 a Patrusim, a Casluim (donde saíram os filisteus) e a Caftorim. 15 Canaã gerou a Sidom, seu primogênito, e a Hete, 16 e aos jebuseus, aos amorreus, aos girgaseus, 17 aos heveus, aos arqueus, aos sineus, 18 aos arvadeus, aos zemareus e aos hamateus; e depois se espalharam as famílias dos cananeus. 19 E o limite dos cananeus foi desde Sidom, indo para Gerar, até Gaza, indo para Sodoma, Gomorra, Admá e Zeboim, até Lasa. 20 São estes os filhos de Cam, segundo as suas famílias, segundo as suas línguas, em suas terras, em suas nações. 21 A Sem, que foi pai de todos os filhos de Héber e irmão mais velho de Jafé, também lhe nasceram filhos. 22 Os filhos de Sem são: Elão, Assur, Arfaxade, Lude e Arã. 23 Os filhos de Arã: Uz, Hul, Geter e Más. 24 Arfaxade gerou a Salá; Salá gerou a Héber. 25 A Héber nasceram dois filhos: um teve por nome Pelegue, porquanto em seus dias se repartiu a terra; e o nome de seu irmão foi Joctã. 26 Joctã gerou a Almodá, a Selefe, a Hazar-Mavé, a Jerá, 27 a Hadorão, a Uzal, a Dicla, 28 a Obal, a Abimael, a Sabá, 29 a Ofir, a Havilá e a Jobabe; todos estes foram filhos de Joctã. 30 E habitaram desde Messa, indo para Sefar, montanha do Oriente. 31 São estes os filhos de Sem, segundo as suas famílias, segundo as suas línguas, em suas terras, em suas nações. 32 São estas as famílias dos filhos de Noé, segundo as suas gerações, nas suas nações; Vendo-lhes a fé, Jesus disse ao paralítico: Tem bom ânimo, filho; estão perdoados os teus pecados. 3 Mas alguns escribas diziam consigo: Este blasfema. 4 Jesus, porém, conhecendo-lhes os pensamentos, disse: Por que cogitais o mal no vosso coração? 5 Pois qual é mais fácil? Dizer: Estão perdoados os teus pecados, ou dizer: Levanta-te e anda? 6 Ora, para que saibais que o Filho do Homem tem sobre a terra autoridade para perdoar pecados – disse, então, ao paralítico: Levanta-te, toma o teu leito e vai para tua casa. 7 E, levantando-se, partiu para sua casa. 8 Vendo isto, as multidões, possuídas de temor, glorificaram a Deus, que dera tal autoridade aos homens. 9 Partindo Jesus dali, viu um homem chamado Mateus sentado na coletoria e disse-lhe: Segue-me! Ele se levantou e o seguiu. 10 E sucedeu que, estando ele em casa, à mesa, muitos publicanos e pecadores vieram e tomaram lugares com Jesus e seus discípulos. 11 Ora, vendo isto, os fariseus perguntavam aos discípulos: Por que come o vosso Mestre com os publicanos e pecadores? 12 Mas Jesus, ouvindo, disse: Os sãos não precisam de médico, e sim os doentes. 13 Ide, porém, e aprendei o que significa: Misericórdia quero e não holocaustos; pois não vim chamar justos, e sim pecadores [ao arrependimento]. 14 Vieram, depois, os discípulos de João e lhe perguntaram: Por que jejuamos nós, e os fariseus [muitas vezes], e teus discípulos não jejuam? 15 Respondeu-lhes Jesus: Podem, acaso, estar tristes os convidados para o casamento, enquanto o noivo está com eles? Dias virão, contudo, em que lhes será tirado o noivo, e nesses dias hão de jejuar. 16 Ninguém põe remendo de pano novo em veste velha; porque o remendo tira parte da veste, e fica maior a rotura. 17 Nem se põe vinho novo em odres velhos; do contrário, rompem-se os odres, derrama-se o vinho, e os odres se perdem. Mas põe-se vinho novo em odres novos, e ambos se conservam. 18 Enquanto estas coisas lhes dizia, eis que um chefe, aproximando-se, o adorou e disse: Minha filha faleceu agora mesmo; mas vem, impõe a mão sobre ela, e viverá. 19 E Jesus, levantando-se, o seguia, e também os seus discípulos. 20 E eis que uma mulher, que durante doze anos vinha padecendo de uma hemorragia, veio por trás dele e lhe tocou na orla da veste; 21 porque dizia consigo mesma: Se eu apenas lhe tocar a veste, ficarei curada. 22 E Jesus, voltando-se e vendo-a, disse: Tem bom ânimo, filha, a tua fé te salvou. E, desde aquele instante, a mulher ficou sã. 23 Tendo Jesus chegado à casa do chefe e vendo os tocadores de flauta e o povo em alvoroço, disse: 24 Retirai-vos, porque não está morta a menina, mas dorme. E riam-se dele. 25 Mas, afastado o povo, entrou Jesus, tomou a menina pela mão, e ela se levantou. 26 E a fama deste acontecimento correu por toda aquela terra. 27 Partindo Jesus dali, seguiram-no dois cegos, clamando: Tem compaixão de nós, Filho de Davi! 28 Tendo ele entrado em casa, aproximaram-se os cegos, e Jesus lhes perguntou: Credes que eu posso fazer isso? Responderam-lhe: Sim, Senhor! 29 Então, lhes tocou os olhos, dizendo: Faça-se-vos conforme a vossa fé. 30 E abriram-se-lhes os olhos. Jesus, porém, os advertiu severamente, dizendo: Acautelai-vos de que ninguém o saiba. 31 Saindo eles, porém, divulgaram-lhe a fama por toda aquela terra. 32 Ao retirarem-se eles, foi-lhe trazido um mudo endemoninhado. 33 E, expelido o demônio, falou o mudo; e as multidões se admiravam, dizendo: Jamais se viu tal coisa em Israel! 34 Mas os fariseus murmuravam: Pelo maioral dos demônios é que expele os demônios. 35 E percorria Jesus todas as cidades e povoados, ensinando nas sinagogas, pregando o evangelho do reino e curando toda sorte de doenças e enfermidades. 36 Vendo ele as multidões, compadeceu-se delas, porque estavam aflitas e exaustas como ovelhas que não têm pastor. 37 E, então, se dirigiu a seus discípulos: A seara, na verdade, é grande, mas os trabalhadores são poucos. 38 Rogai, pois, ao Senhor da seara que mande trabalhadores para a sua seara. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  9 And he entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into his own city. 2 And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee. 3 And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth. 4 And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts? 5 For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk? 6 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house. 7 And he arose, and departed to his house. 8 But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men. 9 And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him. 10 And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples. 11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners? 12 But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. 13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. 14 Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not? 15 And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast. 16 No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse. 17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved. 18 While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live. 19 And Jesus arose, and followed him, and so did his disciples. 20 And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment: 21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole. 22 But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour. 23 And when Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise, 24 He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn. 25 But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose. 26 And the fame hereof went abroad into all that land. 27 And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou son of David, have mercy on us. 28 And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord. 29 Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you. 30 And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no man know it. 31 But they, when they were departed, spread abroad his fame in all that country. 32 As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil. 33 And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel. 34 But the Pharisees said, He casteth out devils through the prince of the devils. 35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. 36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. 37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; 38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Esdras 9 1 Acabadas, pois, estas coisas, vieram ter comigo os príncipes, dizendo: O povo de Israel, e os sacerdotes, e os levitas não se separaram dos povos de outras terras com as suas abominações, isto é, dos cananeus, dos heteus, dos ferezeus, dos jebuseus, dos amonitas, dos moabitas, dos egípcios e dos amorreus, 2 pois tomaram das suas filhas para si e para seus filhos, e, assim, se misturou a linhagem santa com os povos dessas terras, e até os príncipes e magistrados foram os primeiros nesta transgressão. 3 Ouvindo eu tal coisa, rasguei as minhas vestes e o meu manto, e arranquei os cabelos da cabeça e da barba, e me assentei atônito. 4 Então, se ajuntaram a mim todos os que tremiam das palavras do Deus de Israel, por causa da transgressão dos do cativeiro; porém eu permaneci assentado atônito até ao sacrifício da tarde. 5 Na hora do sacrifício da tarde, levantei-me da minha humilhação, com as vestes e o manto já rasgados, me pus de joelhos, estendi as mãos para o SENHOR, meu Deus, 6 e disse: Meu Deus! Estou confuso e envergonhado, para levantar a ti a face, meu Deus, porque as nossas iniqüidades se multiplicaram sobre a nossa cabeça, e a nossa culpa cresceu até aos céus. 7 Desde os dias de nossos pais até hoje, estamos em grande culpa e, por causa das nossas iniqüidades, fomos entregues, nós, os nossos reis e os nossos sacerdotes, nas mãos dos reis de outras terras e sujeitos à espada, ao cativeiro, ao roubo e à ignomínia, como hoje se vê. 8 Agora, por breve momento, se nos manifestou a graça da parte do SENHOR, nosso Deus, para nos deixar alguns que escapem e para dar-nos estabilidade no seu santo lugar; para nos alumiar os olhos, ó Deus nosso, e para nos dar um pouco de vida na nossa servidão; 9 porque somos servos, porém, na nossa servidão, não nos desamparou o nosso Deus; antes, estendeu sobre nós a sua misericórdia, e achamos favor perante os reis da Pérsia, para nos reviver, para levantar a casa do nosso Deus, para restaurar as suas ruínas e para que nos desse um muro de segurança em Judá e em Jerusalém. 10 Agora, ó nosso Deus, que diremos depois disto? Pois deixamos os teus mandamentos, 11 que ordenaste por intermédio dos teus servos, os profetas, dizendo: A terra em que entrais para a possuir é terra imunda pela imundícia dos seus povos, pelas abominações com que, na sua corrupção, a encheram de uma extremidade à outra. 12 Por isso, não dareis as vossas filhas a seus filhos, e suas filhas não tomareis para os vossos filhos, e jamais procurareis a paz e o bem desses povos; para que sejais fortes, e comais o melhor da terra, e a deixeis por herança a vossos filhos, para sempre. 13 Depois de tudo o que nos tem sucedido por causa das nossas más obras e da nossa grande culpa, e vendo ainda que tu, ó nosso Deus, nos tens castigado menos do que merecem as nossas iniqüidades e ainda nos deste este restante que escapou, 14 tornaremos a violar os teus mandamentos e a aparentar-nos com os povos destas abominações? Eis que estamos diante de ti na nossa culpa, porque ninguém há que possa estar na tua presença por causa disto. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  9 Now when these things were done, the princes came to me, saying, The people of Israel, and the priests, and the Levites, have not separated themselves from the people of the lands, doing according to their abominations, even of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites. 2 For they have taken of their daughters for themselves, and for their sons: so that the holy seed have mingled themselves with the people of those lands: yea, the hand of the princes and rulers hath been chief in this trespass. 3 And when I heard this thing, I rent my garment and my mantle, and plucked off the hair of my head and of my beard, and sat down astonied. 4 Then were assembled unto me every one that trembled at the words of the God of Israel, because of the transgression of those that had been carried away; and I sat astonied until the evening sacrifice. 5 And at the evening sacrifice I arose up from my heaviness; and having rent my garment and my mantle, I fell upon my knees, and spread out my hands unto the Lord my God, 6 And said, O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift up my face to thee, my God: for our iniquities are increased over our head, and our trespass is grown up unto the heavens. 7 Since the days of our fathers have we been in a great trespass unto this day; and for our iniquities have we, our kings, and our priests, been delivered into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, and to a spoil, and to confusion of face, as it is this day. 8 And now for a little space grace hath been shewed from the Lord our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a nail in his holy place, that our God may lighten our eyes, and give us a little reviving in our bondage. 9 For we were bondmen; yet our God hath not forsaken us in our bondage, but hath extended mercy unto us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to give us a reviving, to set up the house of our God, and to repair the desolations thereof, and to give us a wall in Judah and in Jerusalem. 10 And now, O our God, what shall we say after this? for we have forsaken thy commandments, 11 Which thou hast commanded by thy servants the prophets, saying, The land, unto which ye go to possess it, is an unclean land with the filthiness of the people of the lands, with their abominations, which have filled it from one end to another with their uncleanness. 12 Now therefore give not your daughters unto their sons, neither take their daughters unto your sons, nor seek their peace or their wealth for ever: that ye may be strong, and eat the good of the land, and leave it for an inheritance to your children for ever. 13 And after all that is come upon us for our evil deeds, and for our great trespass, seeing that thou our God hast punished us less than our iniquities deserve, and hast given us such deliverance as this; 14 Should we again break thy commandments, and join in affinity with the people of these abominations? wouldest not thou be angry with us till thou hadst consumed us, so that there should be no remnant nor escaping? 15 O Lord God of Israel, thou art righteous: for we remain yet escaped, as it is this day: behold, we are before thee in our trespasses: for we cannot stand before thee because of this. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Observações por Blog Heavenly Heavenly Nem a morte tem força de ação num coração cujo espírito está com o Altíssimo, Senhor DEUS.  "Tendo Jesus chegado à casa do chefe e vendo os tocadores de flauta e o povo em alvoroço, disse:  Retirai-vos, porque não está morta a menina, mas dorme.
