LEITURA Bíblia Sagrada     Versão - João Ferreira de Almeida - 2ª edição PT-BR King James Version Gênesis 17 Mateus  16 Neemias 6 LEITURA  16º DIA  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Gênesis 17 1 Quando atingiu Abrão a idade de noventa e nove anos, apareceu-lhe o SENHOR e disse-lhe: Eu sou o Deus Todo-Poderoso; anda na minha presença e sê perfeito. 2 Farei uma aliança entre mim e ti e te multiplicarei extraordinariamente. 3 Prostrou-se Abrão, rosto em terra, e Deus lhe falou: 4 Quanto a mim, será contigo a minha aliança; serás pai de numerosas nações. 5 Abrão já não será o teu nome, e sim Abraão; porque por pai de numerosas nações te constituí. 6 Far-te-ei fecundo extraordinariamente, de ti farei nações, e reis procederão de ti. 7 Estabelecerei a minha aliança entre mim e ti e a tua descendência no decurso das suas gerações, aliança perpétua, para ser o teu Deus e da tua descendência. 8 Dar-te-ei e à tua descendência a terra das tuas peregrinações, toda a terra de Canaã, em possessão perpétua, e serei o seu Deus. 9 Disse mais Deus a Abraão: Guardarás a minha aliança, tu e a tua descendência no decurso das suas gerações. 10 Esta é a minha aliança, que guardareis entre mim e vós e a tua descendência: todo macho entre vós será circuncidado. 11 Circuncidareis a carne do vosso prepúcio; será isso por sinal de aliança entre mim e vós. 12 O que tem oito dias será circuncidado entre vós, todo macho nas vossas gerações, tanto o escravo nascido em casa como o comprado a qualquer estrangeiro, que não for da tua estirpe. 13 Com efeito, será circuncidado o nascido em tua casa e o comprado por teu dinheiro; a minha aliança estará na vossa carne e será aliança perpétua. 14 O incircunciso, que não for circuncidado na carne do prepúcio, essa vida será eliminada do seu povo; quebrou a minha aliança. 15 Disse também Deus a Abraão: A Sarai, tua mulher, já não lhe chamarás Sarai, porém Sara. 16 Abençoá-la-ei e dela te darei um filho; sim, eu a abençoarei, e ela se tornará nações; reis de povos procederão dela. 17 Então, se prostrou Abraão, rosto em terra, e se riu, e disse consigo: A um homem de cem anos há de nascer um filho? Dará à luz Sara com seus noventa anos? 18 Disse Abraão a Deus: Tomara que viva Ismael diante de ti. 19 Deus lhe respondeu: De fato, Sara, tua mulher, te dará um filho, e lhe chamarás Isaque; estabelecerei com ele a minha aliança, aliança perpétua para a sua descendência. 20 Quanto a Ismael, eu te ouvi: abençoá-lo-ei, fá-lo-ei fecundo e o multiplicarei extraordinariamente; gerará doze príncipes, e dele farei uma grande nação. 21 A minha aliança, porém, estabelecê-la-ei com Isaque, o qual Sara te dará à luz, neste mesmo tempo, daqui a um ano. 22 E, finda esta fala com Abraão, Deus se retirou dele, elevando-se. 23 Tomou, pois, Abraão a seu filho Ismael, e a todos os escravos nascidos em sua casa, e a todos os comprados por seu dinheiro, todo macho dentre os de sua casa, e lhes circuncidou a carne do prepúcio de cada um, naquele mesmo dia, como Deus lhe ordenara. 24 Tinha Abraão noventa e nove anos de idade, quando foi circuncidado na carne do seu prepúcio. 25 Ismael, seu filho, era de treze anos, quando foi circuncidado na carne do seu prepúcio. 26 Abraão e seu filho, Ismael, foram circuncidados no mesmo dia. 27 E também foram circuncidados todos os homens de sua casa, tanto os escravos nascidos nela como os comprados por dinheiro ao estrangeiro. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  17 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. 2 And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. 3 And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying, 4 As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. 5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. 6 And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee. 7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. 8 And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God. 9 And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations. 10 This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised. 11 And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you. 12 And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed. 13 He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant. 14 And the uncircumcised man child whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken my covenant. 15 And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be. 16 And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her. 17 Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear? 18 And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee! 19 And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him. 20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation. 21 But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year. 22 And he left off talking with him, and God went up from Abraham. 23 And Abraham took Ishmael his son, and all that were born in his house, and all that were bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham's house; and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin in the selfsame day, as God had said unto him. 24 And Abraham was ninety years old and nine, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin. 25 And Ishmael his son was thirteen years old, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin. 26 In the selfsame day was Abraham circumcised, and Ishmael his son. 27 And all the men of his house, born in the house, and bought with money of the stranger, were circumcised with him. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Mateus 16 1 Aproximando-se os fariseus e os saduceus, tentando-o, pediram-lhe que lhes mostrasse um sinal vindo do céu. 2 Ele, porém, lhes respondeu: Chegada a tarde, dizeis: Haverá bom tempo, porque o céu está avermelhado; 3 e, pela manhã: Hoje, haverá tempestade, porque o céu está de um vermelho sombrio. Sabeis, na verdade, discernir o aspecto do céu e não podeis discernir os sinais dos tempos? 4 Uma geração má e adúltera pede um sinal; e nenhum sinal lhe será dado, senão o de Jonas. E, deixando-os, retirou-se. 5 Ora, tendo os discípulos passado para o outro lado, esqueceram-se de levar pão. 6 E Jesus lhes disse: Vede e acautelai-vos do fermento dos fariseus e dos saduceus. 7 Eles, porém, discorriam entre si, dizendo: É porque não trouxemos pão. 8 Percebendo-o Jesus, disse: Por que discorreis entre vós, homens de pequena fé, sobre o não terdes pão? 9 Não compreendeis ainda, nem vos lembrais dos cinco pães para cinco mil homens e de quantos cestos tomastes? 10 Nem dos sete pães para os quatro mil e de quantos cestos tomastes? 11 Como não compreendeis que não vos falei a respeito de pães? E sim: acautelai-vos do fermento dos fariseus e dos saduceus. 12 Então, entenderam que não lhes dissera que se acautelassem do fermento de pães, mas da doutrina dos fariseus e dos saduceus. 13 Indo Jesus para os lados de Cesaréia de Filipe, perguntou a seus discípulos: Quem diz o povo ser o Filho do Homem? 14 E eles responderam: Uns dizem: João Batista; outros: Elias; e outros: Jeremias ou algum dos profetas. 15 Mas vós, continuou ele, quem dizeis que eu sou? 16 Respondendo Simão Pedro, disse: Tu és o Cristo, o Filho do Deus vivo. 17 Então, Jesus lhe afirmou: Bem-aventurado és, Simão Barjonas, porque não foi carne e sangue que to revelaram, mas meu Pai, que está nos céus. 18 Também eu te digo que tu és Pedro, e sobre esta pedra edificarei a minha igreja, e as portas do inferno não prevalecerão contra ela. 19 Dar-te-ei as chaves do reino dos céus; o que ligares na terra terá sido ligado nos céus; e o que desligares na terra terá sido desligado nos céus. 20 Então, advertiu os discípulos de que a ninguém dissessem ser ele o Cristo. 21 Desde esse tempo, começou Jesus Cristo a mostrar a seus discípulos que lhe era necessário seguir para Jerusalém e sofrer muitas coisas dos anciãos, dos principais sacerdotes e dos escribas, ser morto e ressuscitado no terceiro dia. 22 E Pedro, chamando-o à parte, começou a reprová-lo, dizendo: Tem compaixão de ti, Senhor; isso de modo algum te acontecerá. 23 Mas Jesus, voltando-se, disse a Pedro: Arreda, Satanás! Tu és para mim pedra de tropeço, porque não cogitas das coisas de Deus, e sim das dos homens. 24 Então, disse Jesus a seus discípulos: Se alguém quer vir após mim, a si mesmo se negue, tome a sua cruz e siga-me. 25 Porquanto, quem quiser salvar a sua vida perdê-la-á; e quem perder a vida por minha causa achá-la-á. 26 Pois que aproveitará o homem se ganhar o mundo inteiro e perder a sua alma? Ou que dará o homem em troca da sua alma? 27 Porque o Filho do Homem há de vir na glória de seu Pai, com os seus anjos, e, então, retribuirá a cada um conforme as suas obras. 28 Em verdade vos digo que alguns há, dos que aqui se encontram, que de maneira nenhuma passarão pela morte até que vejam vir o Filho do Homem no seu reino. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  16 The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven. 2 He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. 3 And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowering. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times? 4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed. 5 And when his disciples were come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread. 6 Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. 7 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have taken no bread. 8 Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread? 9 Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up? 10 Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up? 11 How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees? 12 Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. 13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? 14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. 15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? 16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. 18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. 20 Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ. 21 From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. 22 Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. 23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men. 24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. 25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. 26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? 27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. 28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Neemias 6 1 Tendo ouvido Sambalate, Tobias, Gesém, o arábio, e o resto dos nossos inimigos que eu tinha edificado o muro e que nele já não havia brecha nenhuma, ainda que até este tempo não tinha posto as portas nos portais, 2 Sambalate e Gesém mandaram dizer-me: Vem, encontremo-nos, nas aldeias, no vale de Ono. Porém intentavam fazer-me mal. 3 Enviei-lhes mensageiros a dizer: Estou fazendo grande obra, de modo que não poderei descer; por que cessaria a obra, enquanto eu a deixasse e fosse ter convosco? 4 Quatro vezes me enviaram o mesmo pedido; eu, porém, lhes dei sempre a mesma resposta. 5 Então, Sambalate me enviou pela quinta vez o seu moço, o qual trazia na mão uma carta aberta, 6 do teor seguinte: Entre as gentes se ouviu, e Gesém diz que tu e os judeus intentais revoltar-vos; por isso, reedificas o muro, e, segundo se diz, queres ser o rei deles, 7 e puseste profetas para falarem a teu respeito em Jerusalém, dizendo: Este é rei em Judá. Ora, o rei ouvirá isso, segundo essas palavras. Vem, pois, agora, e consultemos juntamente. 8 Mandei dizer-lhe: De tudo o que dizes coisa nenhuma sucedeu; tu, do teu coração, é que o inventas. 9 Porque todos eles procuravam atemorizar-nos, dizendo: As suas mãos largarão a obra, e não se efetuará. Agora, pois, ó Deus, fortalece as minhas mãos. 10 Tendo eu ido à casa de Semaías, filho de Delaías, filho de Meetabel (que estava encerrado), disse ele: Vamos juntamente à Casa de Deus, ao meio do templo, e fechemos as portas do templo; porque virão matar-te; aliás, de noite virão matar-te. 11 Porém eu disse: homem como eu fugiria? E quem há, como eu, que entre no templo para que viva? De maneira nenhuma entrarei. 12 Então, percebi que não era Deus quem o enviara; tal profecia falou ele contra mim, porque Tobias e Sambalate o subornaram. 13 Para isto o subornaram, para me atemorizar, e para que eu, assim, viesse a proceder e a pecar, para que tivessem motivo de me infamar e me vituperassem. 14 Lembra-te, meu Deus, de Tobias e de Sambalate, no tocante a estas suas obras, e também da profetisa Noadia e dos mais profetas que procuraram atemorizar-me. 15 Acabou-se, pois, o muro aos vinte e cinco dias do mês de elul, em cinqüenta e dois dias. 16 Sucedeu que, ouvindo-o todos os nossos inimigos, temeram todos os gentios nossos circunvizinhos e decaíram muito no seu próprio conceito; porque reconheceram que por intervenção de nosso Deus é que fizemos esta obra. 17 Também naqueles dias alguns nobres de Judá escreveram muitas cartas, que iam para Tobias, e cartas de Tobias vinham para eles. 18 Pois muitos em Judá lhe eram ajuramentados porque era genro de Secanias, filho de Ará; e seu filho Joanã se casara com a filha de Mesulão, filho de Berequias. 19 Também das suas boas ações falavam na minha presença, e as minhas palavras lhe levavam a ele; Tobias escrevia cartas para me atemorizar. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  6 Now it came to pass when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and Geshem the Arabian, and the rest of our enemies, heard that I had builded the wall, and that there was no breach left therein; (though at that time I had not set up the doors upon the gates;) 2 That Sanballat and Geshem sent unto me, saying, Come, let us meet together in some one of the villages in the plain of Ono. But they thought to do me mischief. 3 And I sent messengers unto them, saying, I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you? 4 Yet they sent unto me four times after this sort; and I answered them after the same manner. 5 Then sent Sanballat his servant unto me in like manner the fifth time with an open letter in his hand; 6 Wherein was written, It is reported among the heathen, and Gashmu saith it, that thou and the Jews think to rebel: for which cause thou buildest the wall, that thou mayest be their king, according to these words. 7 And thou hast also appointed prophets to preach of thee at Jerusalem, saying, There is a king in Judah: and now shall it be reported to the king according to these words. Come now therefore, and let us take counsel together. 8 Then I sent unto him, saying, There are no such things done as thou sayest, but thou feignest them out of thine own heart. 9 For they all made us afraid, saying, Their hands shall be weakened from the work, that it be not done. Now therefore, O God, strengthen my hands. 10 Afterward I came unto the house of Shemaiah the son of Delaiah the son of Mehetabeel, who was shut up; and he said, Let us meet together in the house of God, within the temple, and let us shut the doors of the temple: for they will come to slay thee; yea, in the night will they come to slay thee. 11 And I said, Should such a man as I flee? and who is there, that, being as I am, would go into the temple to save his life? I will not go in. 12 And, lo, I perceived that God had not sent him; but that he pronounced this prophecy against me: for Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him. 13 Therefore was he hired, that I should be afraid, and do so, and sin, and that they might have matter for an evil report, that they might reproach me. 14 My God, think thou upon Tobiah and Sanballat according to these their works, and on the prophetess Noadiah, and the rest of the prophets, that would have put me in fear. 15 So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty and two days. 16 And it came to pass, that when all our enemies heard thereof, and all the heathen that were about us saw these things, they were much cast down in their own eyes: for they perceived that this work was wrought of our God. 17 Moreover in those days the nobles of Judah sent many letters unto Tobiah, and the letters of Tobiah came unto them. 18 For there were many in Judah sworn unto him, because he was the son in law of Shechaniah the son of Arah; and his son Johanan had taken the daughter of Meshullam the son of Berechiah. 19 Also they reported his good deeds before me, and uttered my words to him. Ou, dos que O confessam, apenas com os lábios.  Mas está ao alcance dos que escolhem andar no Caminho da SUA PRESENÇA.  "Porque a lei do Espírito da Vida, em Cristo JESUS, te livrou da lei do pecado e da morte." E Abrão anuiu ao conselho de Sarai. 3 Então, Sarai, mulher de Abrão, tomou a Agar, egípcia, sua serva, e deu-a por mulher a Abrão, seu marido, depois de ter ele habitado por dez anos na terra de Canaã. 4 Ele a possuiu, e ela concebeu. Vendo ela que havia concebido, foi sua senhora por ela desprezada. 5 Disse Sarai a Abrão: Seja sobre ti a afronta que se me faz a mim. Eu te dei a minha serva para a possuíres; ela, porém, vendo que concebeu, desprezou-me. Julgue o SENHOR entre mim e ti. 6 Respondeu Abrão a Sarai: A tua serva está nas tuas mãos, procede segundo melhor te parecer. Sarai humilhou-a, e ela fugiu de sua presença. 7 Tendo-a achado o Anjo do SENHOR junto a uma fonte de água no deserto, junto à fonte no caminho de Sur, 8 disse-lhe: Agar, serva de Sarai, donde vens e para onde vais? Ela respondeu: Fujo da presença de Sarai, minha senhora. 9 Então, lhe disse o Anjo do SENHOR: Volta para a tua senhora e humilha-te sob suas mãos. 10 Disse-lhe mais o Anjo do SENHOR: Multiplicarei sobremodo a tua descendência, de maneira que, por numerosa, não será contada. 11 Disse-lhe ainda o Anjo do SENHOR: Concebeste e darás à luz um filho, a quem chamarás Ismael, porque o SENHOR te acudiu na tua aflição. 12 Ele será, entre os homens, como um jumento selvagem; a sua mão será contra todos, e a mão de todos, contra ele; e habitará fronteiro a todos os seus irmãos. 13 Então, ela invocou o nome do SENHOR, que lhe falava: Tu és Deus que vê; pois disse ela: Não olhei eu neste lugar para aquele que me vê? 14 Por isso, aquele poço se chama Beer-Laai-Roi; está entre Cades e Berede. 15 Agar deu à luz um filho a Abrão; e Abrão, a seu filho que lhe dera Agar, chamou-lhe Ismael. 16 Era Abrão de oitenta e seis anos, quando Agar lhe deu à luz Ismael. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  16 Now Sarai Abram's wife bare him no children: and she had an handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar. 2 And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the Lord hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. Bem profetizou Isaías a vosso respeito, dizendo: 8 Este povo honra-me com os lábios, mas o seu coração está longe de mim. 9 E em vão me adoram, ensinando doutrinas que são preceitos de homens. 10 E, tendo convocado a multidão, lhes disse: Ouvi e entendei: 11 não é o que entra pela boca o que contamina o homem, mas o que sai da boca, isto, sim, contamina o homem. 12 Então, aproximando-se dele os discípulos, disseram: Sabes que os fariseus, ouvindo a tua palavra, se escandalizaram? 13 Ele, porém, respondeu: Toda planta que meu Pai celestial não plantou será arrancada. 14 Deixai-os; são cegos, guias de cegos. Ora, se um cego guiar outro cego, cairão ambos no barranco. 15 Então, lhe disse Pedro: Explica-nos a parábola. 16 Jesus, porém, disse: Também vós não entendeis ainda? 17 Não compreendeis que tudo o que entra pela boca desce para o ventre e, depois, é lançado em lugar escuso? 18 Mas o que sai da boca vem do coração, e é isso que contamina o homem. 19 Porque do coração procedem maus desígnios, homicídios, adultérios, prostituição, furtos, falsos testemunhos, blasfêmias. 20 São estas as coisas que contaminam o homem; mas o comer sem lavar as mãos não o contamina. 21 Partindo Jesus dali, retirou-se para os lados de Tiro e Sidom. 22 E eis que uma mulher cananéia, que viera daquelas regiões, clamava: Senhor, Filho de Davi, tem compaixão de mim! E os seus discípulos, aproximando-se, rogaram-lhe: Despede-a, pois vem clamando atrás de nós. 24 Mas Jesus respondeu: Não fui enviado senão às ovelhas perdidas da casa de Israel. 25 Ela, porém, veio e o adorou, dizendo: Senhor, socorre-me! 26 Então, ele, respondendo, disse: Não é bom tomar o pão dos filhos e lançá-lo aos cachorrinhos. 27 Ela, contudo, replicou: Sim, Senhor, porém os cachorrinhos comem das migalhas que caem da mesa dos seus donos. 28 Então, lhe disse Jesus: Ó mulher, grande é a tua fé! Faça-se contigo como queres. E, desde aquele momento, sua filha ficou sã. 29 Partindo Jesus dali, foi para junto do mar da Galiléia; e, subindo ao monte, assentou-se ali. 30 E vieram a ele muitas multidões trazendo consigo coxos, aleijados, cegos, mudos e outros muitos e os largaram junto aos pés de Jesus; e ele os curou. 31 De modo que o povo se maravilhou ao ver que os mudos falavam, os aleijados recobravam saúde, os coxos andavam e os cegos viam. Então, glorificavam ao Deus de Israel. 32 E, chamando Jesus os seus discípulos, disse: Tenho compaixão desta gente, porque há três dias que permanece comigo e não tem o que comer; e não quero despedi-la em jejum, para que não desfaleça pelo caminho. 33 Mas os discípulos lhe disseram: Onde haverá neste deserto tantos pães para fartar tão grande multidão? 34 Perguntou-lhes Jesus: Quantos pães tendes? Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. 7 Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, 8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. 9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. 10 And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand: 11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man. 12 Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying? 13 But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up. 14 Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch. 15 Then answered Peter and said unto him, Declare unto us this parable. 16 And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding? 17 Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught? 18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. 19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: 20 These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man. 21 Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon. 22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. 23 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. 24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. 26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs. 27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table. 28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour. 29 And Jesus departed from thence, and came nigh unto the sea of Galilee; and went up into a mountain, and sat down there. 30 And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus' feet; and he healed them: 31 Insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel. 32 Then Jesus called his disciples unto him, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way. 33 And his disciples say unto him, Whence should we have so much bread in the wilderness, as to fill so great a multitude? 34 And Jesus saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? Não está em nosso poder evitá-lo; pois os nossos campos e as nossas vinhas já são de outros. 6 Ouvindo eu, pois, o seu clamor e estas palavras, muito me aborreci. 7 Depois de ter considerado comigo mesmo, repreendi os nobres e magistrados e lhes disse: Sois usurários, cada um para com seu irmão; e convoquei contra eles um grande ajuntamento. 8 Disse-lhes: nós resgatamos os judeus, nossos irmãos, que foram vendidos às gentes, segundo nossas posses; e vós outra vez negociaríeis vossos irmãos, para que sejam vendidos a nós? 9 Então, se calaram e não acharam o que responder. Disse mais: não é bom o que fazeis; porventura não devíeis andar no temor do nosso Deus, por causa do opróbrio dos gentios, os nossos inimigos? 10 Também eu, meus irmãos e meus moços lhes demos dinheiro emprestado e trigo. Demos de mão a esse empréstimo. 11 Restituí-lhes hoje, vos peço, as suas terras, as suas vinhas, os seus olivais e as suas casas, como também o centésimo do dinheiro, do trigo, do vinho e do azeite, que exigistes deles. 12 Então, responderam: Restituir-lhes-emos e nada lhes pediremos; faremos assim como dizes. Então, chamei os sacerdotes e os fiz jurar que fariam segundo prometeram. 13 Também sacudi o meu regaço e disse: Assim o faça Deus, sacuda de sua casa e de seu trabalho a todo homem que não cumprir esta promessa; seja sacudido e despojado. E toda a congregação respondeu: Amém! E louvaram o SENHOR; e o povo fez segundo a sua promessa. 14 Também desde o dia em que fui nomeado seu governador na terra de Judá, desde o vigésimo ano até ao trigésimo segundo ano do rei Artaxerxes, doze anos, nem eu nem meus irmãos comemos o pão devido ao governador. 15 Mas os primeiros governadores, que foram antes de mim, oprimiram o povo e lhe tomaram pão e vinho, além de quarenta siclos de prata; até os seus moços dominavam sobre o povo, porém eu assim não fiz, por causa do temor de Deus. 16 Antes, também na obra deste muro fiz reparação, e terra nenhuma compramos; e todos os meus moços se ajuntaram ali para a obra. 17 Também cento e cinqüenta homens dos judeus e dos magistrados e os que vinham a nós, dentre as gentes que estavam ao nosso redor, eram meus hóspedes. 18 O que se preparava para cada dia era um boi e seis ovelhas escolhidas; também à minha custa eram preparadas aves e, de dez em dez dias, muito vinho de todas as espécies; nem por isso exigi o pão devido ao governador, porquanto a servidão deste povo era grande. 19 Lembra-te de mim para meu bem, ó meu Deus, e de tudo quanto fiz a este povo. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  5 And there was a great cry of the people and of their wives against their brethren the Jews. 2 For there were that said, We, our sons, and our daughters, are many: therefore we take up corn for them, that we may eat, and live. 3 Some also there were that said, We have mortgaged our lands, vineyards, and houses, that we might buy corn, because of the dearth. 4 There were also that said, We have borrowed money for the king's tribute, and that upon our lands and vineyards. 5 Yet now our flesh is as the flesh of our brethren, our children as their children: and, lo, we bring into bondage our sons and our daughters to be servants, and some of our daughters are brought unto bondage already: neither is it in our power to redeem them; for other men have our lands and vineyards. 6 And I was very angry when I heard their cry and these words. 7 Then I consulted with myself, and I rebuked the nobles, and the rulers, and said unto them, Ye exact usury, every one of his brother. And I set a great assembly against them. 8 And I said unto them, We after our ability have redeemed our brethren the Jews, which were sold unto the heathen; and will ye even sell your brethren? or shall they be sold unto us? Then held they their peace, and found nothing to answer. 9 Also I said, It is not good that ye do: ought ye not to walk in the fear of our God because of the reproach of the heathen our enemies? 10 I likewise, and my brethren, and my servants, might exact of them money and corn: I pray you, let us leave off this usury. 11 Restore, I pray you, to them, even this day, their lands, their vineyards, their oliveyards, and their houses, also the hundredth part of the money, and of the corn, the wine, and the oil, that ye exact of them. 12 Then said they, We will restore them, and will require nothing of them; so will we do as thou sayest. Then I called the priests, and took an oath of them, that they should do according to this promise. 13 Also I shook my lap, and said, So God shake out every man from his house, and from his labour, that performeth not this promise, even thus be he shaken out, and emptied. And all the congregation said, Amen, and praised the Lord.
