Gênesis 2

1 Assim, pois, foram acabados os céus e a terra e todo o seu exército.
2 E, havendo Deus terminado no dia sétimo a sua obra, que fizera, descansou nesse dia de toda a sua obra que tinha feito.
3 E abençoou Deus o dia sétimo e o santificou; porque nele descansou de toda a obra que, como Criador, fizera.
4 Esta é a gênese dos céus e da terra quando foram criados, quando o SENHOR Deus os criou.
5 Não havia ainda nenhuma planta do campo na terra, pois ainda nenhuma erva do campo havia brotado; porque o SENHOR Deus não fizera chover sobre a terra, e também não havia homem para lavrar o solo.
6 Mas uma neblina subia da terra e regava toda a superfície do solo.
7 Então, formou o SENHOR Deus ao homem do pó da terra e lhe soprou nas narinas o fôlego de vida, e o homem passou a ser alma vivente.
8 E plantou o SENHOR Deus um jardim no Éden, na direção do Oriente, e pôs nele o homem que havia formado.
9 Do solo fez o SENHOR Deus brotar toda sorte de árvores agradáveis à vista e boas para alimento; e também a árvore da vida no meio do jardim e a árvore do conhecimento do bem e do mal.
10 E saía um rio do Éden para regar o jardim e dali se dividia, repartindo-se em quatro braços.
11 O primeiro chama-se Pisom; é o que rodeia a terra de Havilá, onde há ouro.
12 O ouro dessa terra é bom; também se encontram lá o bdélio e a pedra de ônix.
13 O segundo rio chama-se Giom; é o que circunda a terra de Cuxe.
14 O nome do terceiro rio é Tigre; é o que corre pelo oriente da Assíria. E o quarto é o Eufrates.
15 Tomou, pois, o SENHOR Deus ao homem e o colocou no jardim do Éden para o cultivar e o guardar.
16 E o SENHOR Deus lhe deu esta ordem: De toda árvore do jardim comerás livremente,
17 mas da árvore do conhecimento do bem e do mal não comerás; porque, no dia em que dela comeres, certamente morrerás.
18 Disse mais o SENHOR Deus: Não é bom que o homem esteja só; far-lhe-ei uma auxiliadora que lhe seja idônea.
19 Havendo, pois, o SENHOR Deus formado da terra todos os animais do campo e todas as aves dos céus, trouxe-os ao homem, para ver como este lhes chamaria; e o nome que o homem desse a todos os seres viventes, esse seria o nome deles.
20 Deu nome o homem a todos os animais domésticos, às aves dos céus e a todos os animais selváticos; para o homem, todavia, não se achava uma auxiliadora que lhe fosse idônea.
21 Então, o SENHOR Deus fez cair pesado sono sobre o homem, e este adormeceu; tomou uma das suas costelas e fechou o lugar com carne.
22 E a costela que o SENHOR Deus tomara ao homem, transformou-a numa mulher e lha trouxe.
23 E disse o homem: Esta, afinal, é osso dos meus ossos e carne da minha carne; chamar-se-á varoa, porquanto do varão foi tomada.
24 Por isso, deixa o homem pai e mãe e se une à sua mulher, tornando-se os dois uma só carne.
25 Ora, um e outro, o homem e sua mulher, estavam nus e não se envergonhavam.

2 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.

 2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

 3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

 4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens,

 5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the Lord God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.

 6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.

 7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

 8 And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.

 9 And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

 10 And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.

 11 The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold;

 12 And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone.

 13 And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia.

 14 And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.

 15 And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.

 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

 17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

 18 And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

 19 And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.

 20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.

 21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;

 22 And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

 23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

 24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

 25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

Mateus 2

1 Tendo Jesus nascido em Belém da Judéia, em dias do rei Herodes, eis que vieram uns magos do Oriente a Jerusalém.
2 E perguntavam: Onde está o recém-nascido Rei dos judeus? Porque vimos a sua estrela no Oriente e viemos para adorá-lo.
3 Tendo ouvido isso, alarmou-se o rei Herodes, e, com ele, toda a Jerusalém;
4 então, convocando todos os principais sacerdotes e escribas do povo, indagava deles onde o Cristo deveria nascer.
5 Em Belém da Judéia, responderam eles, porque assim está escrito por intermédio do profeta:
6 E tu, Belém, terra de Judá, não és de modo algum a menor entre as principais de Judá; porque de ti sairá o Guia que há de apascentar a meu povo, Israel.
7 Com isto, Herodes, tendo chamado secretamente os magos, inquiriu deles com precisão quanto ao tempo em que a estrela aparecera.
8 E, enviando-os a Belém, disse-lhes: Ide informar-vos cuidadosamente a respeito do menino; e, quando o tiverdes encontrado, avisai-me, para eu também ir adorá-lo.
9 Depois de ouvirem o rei, partiram; e eis que a estrela que viram no Oriente os precedia, até que, chegando, parou sobre onde estava o menino.
10 E, vendo eles a estrela, alegraram-se com grande e intenso júbilo.
11 Entrando na casa, viram o menino com Maria, sua mãe. Prostrando-se, o adoraram; e, abrindo os seus tesouros, entregaram-lhe suas ofertas: ouro, incenso e mirra.
12 Sendo por divina advertência prevenidos em sonho para não voltarem à presença de Herodes, regressaram por outro caminho a sua terra.
13 Tendo eles partido, eis que apareceu um anjo do Senhor a José, em sonho, e disse: Dispõe-te, toma o menino e sua mãe, foge para o Egito e permanece lá até que eu te avise; porque Herodes há de procurar o menino para o matar.
14 Dispondo-se ele, tomou de noite o menino e sua mãe e partiu para o Egito;
15 e lá ficou até à morte de Herodes, para que se cumprisse o que fora dito pelo Senhor, por intermédio do profeta: Do Egito chamei o meu Filho.
16 Vendo-se iludido pelos magos, enfureceu-se Herodes grandemente e mandou matar todos os meninos de Belém e de todos os seus arredores, de dois anos para baixo, conforme o tempo do qual com precisão se informara dos magos.
17 Então, se cumpriu o que fora dito por intermédio do profeta Jeremias:
18 Ouviu-se um clamor em Ramá, pranto, [choro] e grande lamento; era Raquel chorando por seus filhos e inconsolável porque não mais existem.
19 Tendo Herodes morrido, eis que um anjo do Senhor apareceu em sonho a José, no Egito, e disse-lhe:
20 Dispõe-te, toma o menino e sua mãe e vai para a terra de Israel; porque já morreram os que atentavam contra a vida do menino.
21 Dispôs-se ele, tomou o menino e sua mãe e regressou para a terra de Israel.
22 Tendo, porém, ouvido que Arquelau reinava na Judéia em lugar de seu pai Herodes, temeu ir para lá; e, por divina advertência prevenido em sonho, retirou-se para as regiões da Galiléia.
23 E foi habitar numa cidade chamada Nazaré, para que se cumprisse o que fora dito por intermédio dos profetas: Ele será chamado Nazareno.

2 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,

 2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

 3 When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.

 4 And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.

 5 And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet,

 6 And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.

 7 Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared.

 8 And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also.

 9 When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.

 10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.

 11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.

 12 And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.

 13 And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.

 14 When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt:

 15 And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.

 16 Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently inquired of the wise men. Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying,

 18 In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not.

 19 But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeareth in a dream to Joseph in Egypt,

 20 Saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead which sought the young child's life.

 21 And he arose, and took the young child and his mother, and came into the land of Israel.

 22 But when he heard that Archelaus did reign in Judaea in the room of his father Herod, he was afraid to go thither: notwithstanding, being warned of God in a dream, he turned aside into the parts of Galilee:

 23 And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene.

1 São estes os filhos da província que subiram do cativeiro, dentre os exilados que Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, tinha levado para lá, e voltaram para Jerusalém e para Judá, cada um para a sua cidade,
2 os quais vieram com Zorobabel, Jesua, Neemias, Seraías, Reelaías, Mordecai, Bilsã, Mispar, Bigvai, Reum e Baaná. Eis o número dos homens do povo de Israel:
3 os filhos de Parós, dois mil cento e setenta e dois.
4 Os filhos de Sefatias, trezentos e setenta e dois.
5 Os filhos de Ará, setecentos e setenta e cinco.
6 Os filhos de Paate-Moabe, dos filhos de Jesua-Joabe, dois mil oitocentos e doze.
7 Os filhos de Elão, mil duzentos e cinqüenta e quatro.
8 Os filhos de Zatu, novecentos e quarenta e cinco.
9 Os filhos de Zacai, setecentos e sessenta.
10 Os filhos de Bani, seiscentos e quarenta e dois.

13 Os filhos de Adonicão, seiscentos e sessenta e seis.

22 Os homens de Netofa, cinqüenta e seis.
23 Os homens de Anatote, cento e vinte e oito.
24 Os filhos de Azmavete, quarenta e dois.
25 Os filhos de Quiriate-Arim, Cefira e Beerote, setecentos e quarenta e três.
26 Os filhos de Ramá e de Geba, seiscentos e vinte e um.
27 Os homens de Micmás, cento e vinte e dois.
28 Os homens de Betel e Ai, duzentos e vinte e três.
29 Os filhos de Nebo, cinqüenta e dois.
30 Os filhos de Magbis, cento e cinqüenta e seis.
31 Os filhos do outro Elão, mil duzentos e cinqüenta e quatro.
32 Os filhos de Harim, trezentos e vinte.
33 Os filhos de Lode, Hadide e Ono, setecentos e vinte e cinco.
34 Os filhos de Jericó, trezentos e quarenta e cinco.
35 Os filhos de Senaá, três mil seiscentos e trinta.
36 Os sacerdotes: os filhos de Jedaías, da casa de Jesua, novecentos e setenta e três.
37 Os filhos de Imer, mil e cinqüenta e dois.
38 Os filhos de Pasur, mil duzentos e quarenta e sete.
39 Os filhos de Harim, mil e dezessete.
40 Os levitas: os filhos de Jesua e Cadmiel, dos filhos de Hodavias, setenta e quatro.
41 Os cantores: os filhos de Asafe, cento e vinte e oito.
42 Os filhos dos porteiros: os filhos de Salum, os filhos de Ater, os filhos de Talmom, os filhos de Acube, os filhos de Hatita, os filhos de Sobai; ao todo, cento e trinta e nove.
43 Os servidores do templo: os filhos de Zia, os filhos de Hasufa, os filhos de Tabaote,
44 os filhos de Queros, os filhos de Sia, os filhos de Padom,
45 os filhos de Lebana, os filhos de Hagaba, os filhos de Acube, os filhos de Hagabe,
46 os filhos de Sanlai, os filhos de Hanã,
47 os filhos de Gidel, os filhos de Gaar, os filhos de Reaías,
48 os filhos de Rezim, os filhos de Necoda, os filhos de Gazão,
49 os filhos de Uzá, os filhos de Paséia, os filhos de Besai,
50 os filhos de Asná, os filhos dos meunitas, os filhos dos nefuseus,
51 os filhos de Baquebuque, os filhos de Hacufa, os filhos de Harur,
52 os filhos de Baslute, os filhos de Meída, os filhos de Harsa,
53 os filhos de Barcos, os filhos de Sísera, os filhos de Temá,
54 os filhos de Nesias, os filhos de Hatifa.
55 Os filhos dos servos de Salomão: os filhos de Sotai, os filhos de Soferete, os filhos de Peruda,
56 os filhos de Jaala, os filhos de Darcom, os filhos de Gidel,
57 os filhos de Sefatias, os filhos de Hatil, os filhos de Poquerete-Hazebaim e os filhos de Ami.
58 Todos os servidores do templo e os filhos dos servos de Salomão, trezentos e noventa e dois.
59 Também estes subiram de Tel-Melá, Tel-Harsa, Querube, Adã e Imer, porém não puderam provar que as suas famílias e a sua linhagem eram de Israel:
60 os filhos de Delaías, os filhos de Tobias, os filhos de Necoda, seiscentos e cinqüenta e dois.
61 Também dos filhos dos sacerdotes: os filhos de Habaías, os filhos de Coz, os filhos de Barzilai, que se casara com uma das filhas de Barzilai, o gileadita, e que foi chamado do nome dele.
62 Estes procuraram o seu registro nos livros genealógicos, porém o não acharam; pelo que foram tidos por imundos para o sacerdócio.
63 O governador lhes disse que não comessem das coisas sagradas, até que se levantasse um sacerdote com Urim e Tumim.
64 Toda esta congregação junta foi de quarenta e dois mil trezentos e sessenta,
65 afora os seus servos e as suas servas, que foram sete mil trezentos e trinta e sete; e tinham duzentos cantores e cantoras.
66 Os seus cavalos, setecentos e trinta e seis; os seus mulos, duzentos e quarenta e cinco;
67 os seus camelos, quatrocentos e trinta e cinco; os jumentos, seis mil setecentos e vinte.
68 Alguns dos cabeças de famílias, vindo à Casa do SENHOR, a qual está em Jerusalém, deram voluntárias ofertas para a Casa de Deus, para a restaurarem no seu lugar.
69 Segundo os seus recursos, deram para o tesouro da obra, em ouro, sessenta e um mil daricos, e, em prata, cinco mil arráteis, e cem vestes sacerdotais.
70 Os sacerdotes, os levitas e alguns do povo, tanto os cantores como os porteiros e os servidores do templo habitaram nas suas cidades, como também todo o Israel.

 6 The children of Pahathmoab, of the children of Jeshua and Joab, two thousand eight hundred and twelve.

 7 The children of Elam, a thousand two hundred fifty and four.

 8 The children of Zattu, nine hundred forty and five.

 9 The children of Zaccai, seven hundred and threescore.

 10 The children of Bani, six hundred forty and two.

 11 The children of Bebai, six hundred twenty and three.

 12 The children of Azgad, a thousand two hundred twenty and two.

 13 The children of Adonikam, six hundred sixty and six.

 14 The children of Bigvai, two thousand fifty and six.

 15 The children of Adin, four hundred fifty and four.

 16 The children of Ater of Hezekiah, ninety and eight.

 17 The children of Bezai, three hundred twenty and three.

 18 The children of Jorah, an hundred and twelve.

 19 The children of Hashum, two hundred twenty and three.

 20 The children of Gibbar, ninety and five.

 21 The children of Bethlehem, an hundred twenty and three.

 22 The men of Netophah, fifty and six.

 23 The men of Anathoth, an hundred twenty and eight.

 24 The children of Azmaveth, forty and two.

 25 The children of Kirjatharim, Chephirah, and Beeroth, seven hundred and forty and three.

 26 The children of Ramah and Gaba, six hundred twenty and one.

 27 The men of Michmas, an hundred twenty and two.

 28 The men of Bethel and Ai, two hundred twenty and three.

 29 The children of Nebo, fifty and two.

 30 The children of Magbish, an hundred fifty and six.

 31 The children of the other Elam, a thousand two hundred fifty and four.

 32 The children of Harim, three hundred and twenty.

 33 The children of Lod, Hadid, and Ono, seven hundred twenty and five.

 34 The children of Jericho, three hundred forty and five.

 35 The children of Senaah, three thousand and six hundred and thirty.

 36 The priests: the children of Jedaiah, of the house of Jeshua, nine hundred seventy and three.

 37 The children of Immer, a thousand fifty and two.

 38 The children of Pashur, a thousand two hundred forty and seven.

 39 The children of Harim, a thousand and seventeen.

 40 The Levites: the children of Jeshua and Kadmiel, of the children of Hodaviah, seventy and four.

 41 The singers: the children of Asaph, an hundred twenty and eight.

 42 The children of the porters: the children of Shallum, the children of Ater, the children of Talmon, the children of Akkub, the children of Hatita, the children of Shobai, in all an hundred thirty and nine.

 43 The Nethinims: the children of Ziha, the children of Hasupha, the children of Tabbaoth,

 44 The children of Keros, the children of Siaha, the children of Padon,

 45 The children of Lebanah, the children of Hagabah, the children of Akkub,

 46 The children of Hagab, the children of Shalmai, the children of Hanan,

 47 The children of Giddel, the children of Gahar, the children of Reaiah,

 48 The children of Rezin, the children of Nekoda, the children of Gazzam,

 49 The children of Uzza, the children of Paseah, the children of Besai,

 50 The children of Asnah, the children of Mehunim, the children of Nephusim,

 51 The children of Bakbuk, the children of Hakupha, the children of Harhur,

 52 The children of Bazluth, the children of Mehida, the children of Harsha,

 53 The children of Barkos, the children of Sisera, the children of Thamah,

 54 The children of Neziah, the children of Hatipha.

 55 The children of Solomon's servants: the children of Sotai, the children of Sophereth, the children of Peruda,

 56 The children of Jaalah, the children of Darkon, the children of Giddel,

 57 The children of Shephatiah, the children of Hattil, the children of Pochereth of Zebaim, the children of Ami.

 58 All the Nethinims, and the children of Solomon's servants, were three hundred ninety and two.

 59 And these were they which went up from Telmelah, Telharsa, Cherub, Addan, and Immer: but they could not shew their father's house, and their seed, whether they were of Israel:

 60 The children of Delaiah, the children of Tobiah, the children of Nekoda, six hundred fifty and two.

 61 And of the children of the priests: the children of Habaiah, the children of Koz, the children of Barzillai; which took a wife of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite, and was called after their name:

 62 These sought their register among those that were reckoned by genealogy, but they were not found: therefore were they, as polluted, put from the priesthood.

 63 And the Tirshatha said unto them, that they should not eat of the most holy things, till there stood up a priest with Urim and with Thummim.

 64 The whole congregation together was forty and two thousand three hundred and threescore,

 65 Beside their servants and their maids, of whom there were seven thousand three hundred thirty and seven: and there were among them two hundred singing men and singing women.

 66 Their horses were seven hundred thirty and six; their mules, two hundred forty and five;

 67 Their camels, four hundred thirty and five; their asses, six thousand seven hundred and twenty.

 68 And some of the chief of the fathers, when they came to the house of the Lord which is at Jerusalem, offered freely for the house of God to set it up in his place:

 69 They gave after their ability unto the treasure of the work threescore and one thousand drams of gold, and five thousand pound of silver, and one hundred priests' garments.

 70 So the priests, and the Levites, and some of the people, and the singers, and the porters, and the Nethinims, dwelt in their cities, and all Israel in their cities.

É muito interessante observar que a Lua e o Sol não foram criados somente para que fossem indicativos para estações, para dias e anos. Mas também para sinais. 
Uma estrela indicou o nascimento do Senhor Jesus.

"(...)Porque vimos a sua estrela no Oriente
 e viemos para adorá-Lo. " [Mateus 2:2].

E o que dizer da atitude de Josué?
 O sol e a lua são detidos

"Então, Josué falou ao SENHOR, no dia em que o SENHOR entregou os amorreus nas mãos dos filhos de Israel; e disse na presença dos israelitas:
Sol, detém-se em Gibeom,
e tu, lua, no vale de Aijalom.

 E o sol se deteve, e a lua parou até que o povo se vingou de seus inimigos. Não está isto escrito no Livro dos Justos? O sol, pois, se deteve no meio do céu e não se apressou a pôr-se, quase um dia inteiro.

 Não houve dia semelhante a este, nem antes nem depois dele, tendo o SENHOR, assim, atendido à voz dum homem; porque o SENHOR pelejava por Israel." [Josué 10:12-14].

e o Consumador da fé?

O Livro de Gênesis é impressionante. 
Porque realmente o que parecia ser o fim, 
foi o começo de tudo!. 
Em todos os sentidos. 

Tudo diga-se, completamente vinculado 
ao existir do homem e da mulher
 na face da Terra.

Pois o Senhor DEUS deu 
esta ordem ao homem:

"(...)De toda árvore do jardim comerás livremente, 
mas da árvore do conhecimento 
do bem e do mal não comerás; 
porque, no dia em que dela comeres, 
certamente morrerás." Gênesis 1:16-17.


E a essência do amor do Senhor DEUS, 
embora desprezada por muitos, 
é inteiramente perceptível
 nestas verdades eternas:

"Porque DEUS amou ao mundo de tal 
maneira que deu o SEU FILHO Unigênito, 
para que todo o que n'ELE crê não pereça, 
mas tenha a vida eterna.

Porquanto DEUS enviou o seu FILHO ao mundo, 
não para que julgasse o mundo, 
mas para que o mundo 
fosse salvo por ELE.

Quem n'ELE crê não é julgado; o que não crê 
já está julgado, porquanto não crê 
no NOME do Unigênito FILHO de DEUS.


O julgamento é este: que a luz veio ao mundo, 
e os homens amaram mais as trevas
 do que a luz; porque as suas obras eram más. 

Pois todo aquele que pratica o mal 
aborrece a luz 
e não se chega para a luz, 
a fim de não serem arguidas as suas obras.


Quem pratica a verdade 
aproxima-se da luz, 
a fim de que as Suas obras 
sejam manifestas, 
porque feitas em DEUS." João 3:16-21.

Gênesis 1

1 No princípio, criou Deus os céus e a terra.
2 A terra, porém, estava sem forma e vazia; havia trevas sobre a face do abismo, e o Espírito de Deus pairava por sobre as águas.
3 Disse Deus: Haja luz; e houve luz.
4 E viu Deus que a luz era boa; e fez separação entre a luz e as trevas.
5 Chamou Deus à luz Dia e às trevas, Noite. Houve tarde e manhã, o primeiro dia.
6 E disse Deus: Haja firmamento no meio das águas e separação entre águas e águas.
7 Fez, pois, Deus o firmamento e separação entre as águas debaixo do firmamento e as águas sobre o firmamento. E assim se fez.
8 E chamou Deus ao firmamento Céus. Houve tarde e manhã, o segundo dia.
9 Disse também Deus: Ajuntem-se as águas debaixo dos céus num só lugar, e apareça a porção seca. E assim se fez.
10 À porção seca chamou Deus Terra e ao ajuntamento das águas, Mares. E viu Deus que isso era bom.
11 E disse: Produza a terra relva, ervas que dêem semente e árvores frutíferas que dêem fruto segundo a sua espécie, cuja semente esteja nele, sobre a terra. E assim se fez.
12 A terra, pois, produziu relva, ervas que davam semente segundo a sua espécie e árvores que davam fruto, cuja semente estava nele, conforme a sua espécie. E viu Deus que isso era bom.
13 Houve tarde e manhã, o terceiro dia.
14 Disse também Deus: Haja luzeiros no firmamento dos céus, para fazerem separação entre o dia e a noite; e sejam eles para sinais, para estações, para dias e anos.
15 E sejam para luzeiros no firmamento dos céus, para alumiar a terra. E assim se fez.
16 Fez Deus os dois grandes luzeiros: o maior para governar o dia, e o menor para governar a noite; e fez também as estrelas.
17 E os colocou no firmamento dos céus para alumiarem a terra,
18 para governarem o dia e a noite e fazerem separação entre a luz e as trevas. E viu Deus que isso era bom.
19 Houve tarde e manhã, o quarto dia.
20 Disse também Deus: Povoem-se as águas de enxames de seres viventes; e voem as aves sobre a terra, sob o firmamento dos céus.
21 Criou, pois, Deus os grandes animais marinhos e todos os seres viventes que rastejam, os quais povoavam as águas, segundo as suas espécies; e todas as aves, segundo as suas espécies. E viu Deus que isso era bom.
22 E Deus os abençoou, dizendo: Sede fecundos, multiplicai-vos e enchei as águas dos mares; e, na terra, se multipliquem as aves.
23 Houve tarde e manhã, o quinto dia.
24 Disse também Deus: Produza a terra seres viventes, conforme a sua espécie: animais domésticos, répteis e animais selváticos, segundo a sua espécie. E assim se fez.
25 E fez Deus os animais selváticos, segundo a sua espécie, e os animais domésticos, conforme a sua espécie, e todos os répteis da terra, conforme a sua espécie. E viu Deus que isso era bom.
26 Também disse Deus: Façamos o homem à nossa imagem, conforme a nossa semelhança; tenha ele domínio sobre os peixes do mar, sobre as aves dos céus, sobre os animais domésticos, sobre toda a terra e sobre todos os répteis que rastejam pela terra.
27 Criou Deus, pois, o homem à sua imagem, à imagem de Deus o criou; homem e mulher os criou.
28 E Deus os abençoou e lhes disse: Sede fecundos, multiplicai-vos, enchei a terra e sujeitai-a; dominai sobre os peixes do mar, sobre as aves dos céus e sobre todo animal que rasteja pela terra.
29 E disse Deus ainda: Eis que vos tenho dado todas as ervas que dão semente e se acham na superfície de toda a terra e todas as árvores em que há fruto que dê semente; isso vos será para mantimento.
30 E a todos os animais da terra, e a todas as aves dos céus, e a todos os répteis da terra, em que há fôlego de vida, toda erva verde lhes será para mantimento. E assim se fez.
31 Viu Deus tudo quanto fizera, e eis que era muito bom. Houve tarde e manhã, o sexto dia.

11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.

14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,

18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.

25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

1 Livro da genealogia de Jesus Cristo, filho de Davi, filho de Abraão.
2 Abraão gerou a Isaque; Isaque, a Jacó; Jacó, a Judá e a seus irmãos;
3 Judá gerou de Tamar a Perez e a Zera; Perez gerou a Esrom; Esrom, a Arão;
4 Arão gerou a Aminadabe; Aminadabe, a Naassom; Naassom, a Salmom;
5 Salmom gerou de Raabe a Boaz; este, de Rute, gerou a Obede; e Obede, a Jessé;
6 Jessé gerou ao rei Davi; e o rei Davi, a Salomão, da que fora mulher de Urias;
7 Salomão gerou a Roboão; Roboão, a Abias; Abias, a Asa;
8 Asa gerou a Josafá; Josafá, a Jorão; Jorão, a Uzias;
9 Uzias gerou a Jotão; Jotão, a Acaz; Acaz, a Ezequias;
10 Ezequias gerou a Manassés; Manassés, a Amom; Amom, a Josias;
11 Josias gerou a Jeconias e a seus irmãos, no tempo do exílio na Babilônia.
12 Depois do exílio na Babilônia, Jeconias gerou a Salatiel; e Salatiel, a Zorobabel;
13 Zorobabel gerou a Abiúde; Abiúde, a Eliaquim; Eliaquim, a Azor;
14 Azor gerou a Sadoque; Sadoque, a Aquim; Aquim, a Eliúde;
15 Eliúde gerou a Eleazar; Eleazar, a Matã; Matã, a Jacó.
16 E Jacó gerou a José, marido de Maria, da qual nasceu Jesus, que se chama o Cristo.
17 De sorte que todas as gerações, desde Abraão até Davi, são catorze; desde Davi até ao exílio na Babilônia, catorze; e desde o exílio na Babilônia até Cristo, catorze.
18 Ora, o nascimento de Jesus Cristo foi assim: estando Maria, sua mãe, desposada com José, sem que tivessem antes coabitado, achou-se grávida pelo Espírito Santo.
19 Mas José, seu esposo, sendo justo e não a querendo infamar, resolveu deixá-la secretamente.
20 Enquanto ponderava nestas coisas, eis que lhe apareceu, em sonho, um anjo do Senhor, dizendo: José, filho de Davi, não temas receber Maria, tua mulher, porque o que nela foi gerado é do Espírito Santo.
21 Ela dará à luz um filho e lhe porás o nome de Jesus, porque ele salvará o seu povo dos pecados deles.
22 Ora, tudo isto aconteceu para que se cumprisse o que fora dito pelo Senhor por intermédio do profeta:
23 Eis que a virgem conceberá e dará à luz um filho, e ele será chamado pelo nome de Emanuel (que quer dizer: Deus conosco).
24 Despertado José do sono, fez como lhe ordenara o anjo do Senhor e recebeu sua mulher.
25 Contudo, não a conheceu, enquanto ela não deu à luz um filho, a quem pôs o nome de Jesus.

14 And Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud;

15 And Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;

16 And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.

17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.

18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.

20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,

23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:

25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

Esdras 1

1 No primeiro ano de Ciro, rei da Pérsia, para que se cumprisse a palavra do SENHOR, por boca de Jeremias, despertou o SENHOR o espírito de Ciro, rei da Pérsia, o qual fez passar pregão por todo o seu reino, como também por escrito, dizendo:
2 Assim diz Ciro, rei da Pérsia: O SENHOR, Deus dos céus, me deu todos os reinos da terra e me encarregou de lhe edificar uma casa em Jerusalém de Judá.
3 Quem dentre vós é, de todo o seu povo, seja seu Deus com ele, e suba a Jerusalém de Judá e edifique a Casa do SENHOR, Deus de Israel; ele é o Deus que habita em Jerusalém.
4 Todo aquele que restar em alguns lugares em que habita, os homens desse lugar o ajudarão com prata, ouro, bens e gado, afora as dádivas voluntárias para a Casa de Deus, a qual está em Jerusalém.
5 Então, se levantaram os cabeças de famílias de Judá e de Benjamim, e os sacerdotes, e os levitas, com todos aqueles cujo espírito Deus despertou, para subirem a edificar a Casa do SENHOR, a qual está em Jerusalém.
6 Todos os que habitavam nos arredores os ajudaram com objetos de prata, com ouro, bens, gado e coisas preciosas, afora tudo o que, voluntariamente, se deu.
7 Também o rei Ciro tirou os utensílios da Casa do SENHOR, os quais Nabucodonosor tinha trazido de Jerusalém e que tinha posto na casa de seus deuses.
8 Tirou-os Ciro, rei da Pérsia, sob a direção do tesoureiro Mitredate, que os entregou contados a Sesbazar, príncipe de Judá.
9 Eis o número deles: trinta bacias de ouro, mil bacias de prata, vinte e nove facas,
10 trinta taças de ouro, quatrocentas e dez taças de prata de outra espécie e mil outros objetos.
11 Todos os utensílios de ouro e de prata foram cinco mil e quatrocentos; todos estes levou Sesbazar, quando os do exílio subiram da Babilônia para Jerusalém.

1 Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,

2 Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.

3 Who is there among you of all his people? his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the LORD God of Israel, (he is the God,) which is in Jerusalem.

4 And whosoever remaineth in any place where he sojourneth, let the men of his place help him with silver, and with gold, and with goods, and with beasts, beside the freewill offering for the house of God that is in Jerusalem.

5 Then rose up the chief of the fathers of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests, and the Levites, with all them whose spirit God had raised, to go up to build the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem.

6 And all they that were about them strengthened their hands with vessels of silver, with gold, with goods, and with beasts, and with precious things, beside all that was willingly offered.

7 Also Cyrus the king brought forth the vessels of the house of the LORD, which Nebuchadnezzar had brought forth out of Jerusalem, and had put them in the house of his gods;

8 Even those did Cyrus king of Persia bring forth by the hand of Mithredath the treasurer, and numbered them unto Sheshbazzar, the prince of Judah.

9 And this is the number of them: thirty chargers of gold, a thousand chargers of silver, nine and twenty knives,

10 Thirty basons of gold, silver basons of a second sort four hundred and ten, and other vessels a thousand.

11 All the vessels of gold and of silver were five thousand and four hundred. All these did Sheshbazzar bring up with them of the captivity that were brought up from Babylon unto Jerusalem.
