Farei ali um altar ao Deus que me respondeu no dia da minha angústia e me acompanhou no caminho por onde andei. 4 Então, deram a Jacó todos os deuses estrangeiros que tinham em mãos e as argolas que lhes pendiam das orelhas; e Jacó os escondeu debaixo do carvalho que está junto a Siquém. 5 E, tendo eles partido, o terror de Deus invadiu as cidades que lhes eram circunvizinhas, e não perseguiram aos filhos de Jacó. 6 Assim, chegou Jacó a Luz, chamada Betel, que está na terra de Canaã, ele e todo o povo que com ele estava. 7 E edificou ali um altar e ao lugar chamou El-Betel; porque ali Deus se lhe revelou quando fugia da presença de seu irmão. 8 Morreu Débora, a ama de Rebeca, e foi sepultada ao pé de Betel, debaixo do carvalho que se chama Alom-Bacute. 9 Vindo Jacó de Padã-Arã, outra vez lhe apareceu Deus e o abençoou. 10 Disse-lhe Deus: O teu nome é Jacó. Já não te chamarás Jacó, porém Israel será o teu nome. E lhe chamou Israel. 11 Disse-lhe mais: Eu sou o Deus Todo-Poderoso; sê fecundo e multiplica-te; uma nação e multidão de nações sairão de ti, e reis procederão de ti. 12 A terra que dei a Abraão e a Isaque dar-te-ei a ti e, depois de ti, à tua descendência. 13 E Deus se retirou dele, elevando-se do lugar onde lhe falara. 14 Então, Jacó erigiu uma coluna de pedra no lugar onde Deus falara com ele; e derramou sobre ela uma libação e lhe deitou óleo. 15 Ao lugar onde Deus lhe falara, Jacó lhe chamou Betel. 16 Partiram de Betel, e, havendo ainda pequena distância para chegar a Efrata, deu à luz Raquel um filho, cujo nascimento lhe foi a ela penoso. 17 Em meio às dores do parto, disse-lhe a parteira: Não temas, pois ainda terás este filho. 18 Ao sair-lhe a alma (porque morreu), deu-lhe o nome de Benoni; mas seu pai lhe chamou Benjamim. 19 Assim, morreu Raquel e foi sepultada no caminho de Efrata, que é Belém. 20 Sobre a sepultura de Raquel levantou Jacó uma coluna que existe até ao dia de hoje. 21 Então, partiu Israel e armou a sua tenda além da torre de Éder. 22 E aconteceu que, habitando Israel naquela terra, foi Rúben e se deitou com Bila, concubina de seu pai; e Israel o soube. Eram doze os filhos de Israel. 23 Rúben, o primogênito de Jacó, Simeão, Levi, Judá, Issacar e Zebulom, filhos de Lia; 24 José e Benjamim, filhos de Raquel; 25 Dã e Naftali, filhos de Bila, serva de Raquel; 26 e Gade e Aser, filhos de Zilpa, serva de Lia. São estes os filhos de Jacó, que lhe nasceram em Padã-Arã. 27 Veio Jacó a Isaque, seu pai, a Manre, a Quiriate-Arba (que é Hebrom), onde peregrinaram Abraão e Isaque. 28 Foram os dias de Isaque cento e oitenta anos. 29 Velho e farto de dias, expirou Isaque e morreu, sendo recolhido ao seu povo; e Esaú e Jacó, seus filhos, o sepultaram. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  35 And God said unto Jacob, Arise, go up to Bethel, and dwell there: and make there an altar unto God, that appeared unto thee when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother. 2 Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments: 3 And let us arise, and go up to Bethel; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went. 4 And they gave unto Jacob all the strange gods which were in their hand, and all their earrings which were in their ears; and Jacob hid them under the oak which was by Shechem. 5 And they journeyed: and the terror of God was upon the cities that were round about them, and they did not pursue after the sons of Jacob. 6 So Jacob came to Luz, which is in the land of Canaan, that is, Bethel, he and all the people that were with him. 7 And he built there an altar, and called the place Elbethel: because there God appeared unto him, when he fled from the face of his brother. 8 But Deborah, Rebekah's nurse died, and she was buried beneath Bethel under an oak: and the name of it was called Allonbachuth. 9 And God appeared unto Jacob again, when he came out of Padanaram, and blessed him. 10 And God said unto him, Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: and he called his name Israel. 11 And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins; 12 And the land which I gave Abraham and Isaac, to thee I will give it, and to thy seed after thee will I give the land. 13 And God went up from him in the place where he talked with him. 14 And Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he talked with him, even a pillar of stone: and he poured a drink offering thereon, and he poured oil thereon. 15 And Jacob called the name of the place where God spake with him, Bethel. 16 And they journeyed from Bethel; and there was but a little way to come to Ephrath: and Rachel travailed, and she had hard labour. 17 And it came to pass, when she was in hard labour, that the midwife said unto her, Fear not; thou shalt have this son also. 18 And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, (for she died) that she called his name Benoni: but his father called him Benjamin. 19 And Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which is Bethlehem. 20 And Jacob set a pillar upon her grave: that is the pillar of Rachel's grave unto this day. 21 And Israel journeyed, and spread his tent beyond the tower of Edar. 22 And it came to pass, when Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father's concubine: and Israel heard it. Now the sons of Jacob were twelve: 23 The sons of Leah; Reuben, Jacob's firstborn, and Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Zebulun: 24 The sons of Rachel; Joseph, and Benjamin: 25 And the sons of Bilhah, Rachel's handmaid; Dan, and Naphtali: 26 And the sons of Zilpah, Leah's handmaid: Gad, and Asher: these are the sons of Jacob, which were born to him in Padanaram. 27 And Jacob came unto Isaac his father unto Mamre, unto the city of Arbah, which is Hebron, where Abraham and Isaac sojourned. 28 And the days of Isaac were an hundred and fourscore years. 29 And Isaac gave up the ghost, and died, and was gathered unto his people, being old and full of days: and his sons Esau and Jacob buried him. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Marcos 6 1 Tendo Jesus partido dali, foi para a sua terra, e os seus discípulos o acompanharam. 2 Chegando o sábado, passou a ensinar na sinagoga; e muitos, ouvindo-o, se maravilhavam, dizendo: Donde vêm a este estas coisas? Que sabedoria é esta que lhe foi dada? E como se fazem tais maravilhas por suas mãos? 3 Não é este o carpinteiro, filho de Maria, irmão de Tiago, José, Judas e Simão? E não vivem aqui entre nós suas irmãs? E escandalizavam-se nele. 4 Jesus, porém, lhes disse: Não há profeta sem honra, senão na sua terra, entre os seus parentes e na sua casa. 5 Não pôde fazer ali nenhum milagre, senão curar uns poucos enfermos, impondo-lhes as mãos. 6 Admirou-se da incredulidade deles. Contudo, percorria as aldeias circunvizinhas, a ensinar. 7 Chamou Jesus os doze e passou a enviá-los de dois a dois, dando-lhes autoridade sobre os espíritos imundos. 8 Ordenou-lhes que nada levassem para o caminho, exceto um bordão; nem pão, nem alforje, nem dinheiro; 9 que fossem calçados de sandálias e não usassem duas túnicas. 10 E recomendou-lhes: Quando entrardes nalguma casa, permanecei aí até vos retirardes do lugar. 11 Se nalgum lugar não vos receberem nem vos ouvirem, ao sairdes dali, sacudi o pó dos pés, em testemunho contra eles. 12 Então, saindo eles, pregavam ao povo que se arrependesse; 13 expeliam muitos demônios e curavam numerosos enfermos, ungindo-os com óleo. 14 Chegou isto aos ouvidos do rei Herodes, porque o nome de Jesus já se tornara notório; e alguns diziam: João Batista ressuscitou dentre os mortos, e, por isso, nele operam forças miraculosas. 15 Outros diziam: É Elias; ainda outros: É profeta como um dos profetas. 16 Herodes, porém, ouvindo isto, disse: É João, a quem eu mandei decapitar, que ressurgiu. 17 Porque o mesmo Herodes, por causa de Herodias, mulher de seu irmão Filipe (porquanto Herodes se casara com ela), mandara prender a João e atá-lo no cárcere. 18 Pois João lhe dizia: Não te é lícito possuir a mulher de teu irmão. 19 E Herodias o odiava, querendo matá-lo, e não podia. 20 Porque Herodes temia a João, sabendo que era homem justo e santo, e o tinha em segurança. E, quando o ouvia, ficava perplexo, escutando-o de boa mente. 21 E, chegando um dia favorável, em que Herodes no seu aniversário natalício dera um banquete aos seus dignitários, aos oficiais militares e aos principais da Galiléia, 22 entrou a filha de Herodias e, dançando, agradou a Herodes e aos seus convivas. Então, disse o rei à jovem: Pede-me o que quiseres, e eu to darei. 23 E jurou-lhe: Se pedires mesmo que seja a metade do meu reino, eu ta darei. 24 Saindo ela, perguntou a sua mãe: Que pedirei? Esta respondeu: A cabeça de João Batista. 25 No mesmo instante, voltando apressadamente para junto do rei, disse: Quero que, sem demora, me dês num prato a cabeça de João Batista. 26 Entristeceu-se profundamente o rei; mas, por causa do juramento e dos que estavam com ele à mesa, não lha quis negar. 27 E, enviando logo o executor, mandou que lhe trouxessem a cabeça de João. Ele foi, e o decapitou no cárcere, 28 e, trazendo a cabeça num prato, a entregou à jovem, e esta, por sua vez, a sua mãe. 29 Os discípulos de João, logo que souberam disto, vieram, levaram-lhe o corpo e o depositaram no túmulo. 30 Voltaram os apóstolos à presença de Jesus e lhe relataram tudo quanto haviam feito e ensinado. 31 E ele lhes disse: Vinde repousar um pouco, à parte, num lugar deserto; porque eles não tinham tempo nem para comer, visto serem numerosos os que iam e vinham. 32 Então, foram sós no barco para um lugar solitário. 33 Muitos, porém, os viram partir e, reconhecendo-os, correram para lá, a pé, de todas as cidades, e chegaram antes deles. 34 Ao desembarcar, viu Jesus uma grande multidão e compadeceu-se deles, porque eram como ovelhas que não têm pastor. E passou a ensinar-lhes muitas coisas. 35 Em declinando a tarde, vieram os discípulos a Jesus e lhe disseram: É deserto este lugar, e já avançada a hora; 36 despede-os para que, passando pelos campos ao redor e pelas aldeias, comprem para si o que comer. 37 Porém ele lhes respondeu: Dai-lhes vós mesmos de comer. Disseram-lhe: Iremos comprar duzentos denários de pão para lhes dar de comer? 38 E ele lhes disse: Quantos pães tendes? Ide ver! E, sabendo-o eles, responderam: Cinco pães e dois peixes. 39 Então, Jesus lhes ordenou que todos se assentassem, em grupos, sobre a relva verde. 40 E o fizeram, repartindo-se em grupos de cem em cem e de cinqüenta em cinqüenta. 41 Tomando ele os cinco pães e os dois peixes, erguendo os olhos ao céu, os abençoou; e, partindo os pães, deu-os aos discípulos para que os distribuíssem; e por todos repartiu também os dois peixes. 42 Todos comeram e se fartaram; 43 e ainda recolheram doze cestos cheios de pedaços de pão e de peixe. 44 Os que comeram dos pães eram cinco mil homens. 45 Logo a seguir, compeliu Jesus os seus discípulos a embarcar e passar adiante para o outro lado, a Betsaida, enquanto ele despedia a multidão. 46 E, tendo-os despedido, subiu ao monte para orar. 47 Ao cair da tarde, estava o barco no meio do mar, e ele, sozinho em terra. 48 E, vendo-os em dificuldade a remar, porque o vento lhes era contrário, por volta da quarta vigília da noite, veio ter com eles, andando por sobre o mar; e queria tomar-lhes a dianteira. 49 Eles, porém, vendo-o andar sobre o mar, pensaram tratar-se de um fantasma e gritaram. 50 Pois todos ficaram aterrados à vista dele. Mas logo lhes falou e disse: Tende bom ânimo! Sou eu. Não temais! 51 E subiu para o barco para estar com eles, e o vento cessou. Ficaram entre si atônitos, 52 porque não haviam compreendido o milagre dos pães; antes, o seu coração estava endurecido. 53 Estando já no outro lado, chegaram a terra, em Genesaré, onde aportaram. 54 Saindo eles do barco, logo o povo reconheceu Jesus; 55 e, percorrendo toda aquela região, traziam em leitos os enfermos, para onde ouviam que ele estava. 56 Onde quer que ele entrasse nas aldeias, cidades ou campos, punham os enfermos nas praças, rogando-lhe que os deixasse tocar ao menos na orla da sua veste; e quantos a tocavam saíam curados. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  6 And he went out from thence, and came into his own country; and his disciples follow him. 2 And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands? 3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him. 4 But Jesus, said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house. 5 And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them. 6 And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching. 7 And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits; 8 And commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey, save a staff only; no scrip, no bread, no money in their purse: 9 But be shod with sandals; and not put on two coats. 10 And he said unto them, In what place soever ye enter into an house, there abide till ye depart from that place. 11 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city. 12 And they went out, and preached that men should repent. 13 And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them. 14 And king Herod heard of him; (for his name was spread abroad:) and he said, That John the Baptist was risen from the dead, and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him. 15 Others said, That it is Elias. And others said, That it is a prophet, or as one of the prophets. 16 But when Herod heard thereof, he said, It is John, whom I beheaded: he is risen from the dead. 17 For Herod himself had sent forth and laid hold upon John, and bound him in prison for Herodias' sake, his brother Philip's wife: for he had married her. 18 For John had said unto Herod, It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother's wife. 19 Therefore Herodias had a quarrel against him, and would have killed him; but she could not: 20 For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just man and an holy, and observed him; and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly. 21 And when a convenient day was come, that Herod on his birthday made a supper to his lords, high captains, and chief estates of Galilee; 22 And when the daughter of the said Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod and them that sat with him, the king said unto the damsel, Ask of me whatsoever thou wilt, and I will give it thee. 23 And he sware unto her, Whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give it thee, unto the half of my kingdom. 24 And she went forth, and said unto her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptist. 25 And she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou give me by and by in a charger the head of John the Baptist. 26 And the king was exceeding sorry; yet for his oath's sake, and for their sakes which sat with him, he would not reject her. 27 And immediately the king sent an executioner, and commanded his head to be brought: and he went and beheaded him in the prison, 28 And brought his head in a charger, and gave it to the damsel: and the damsel gave it to her mother. 29 And when his disciples heard of it, they came and took up his corpse, and laid it in a tomb. 30 And the apostles gathered themselves together unto Jesus, and told him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught. 31 And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat. 32 And they departed into a desert place by ship privately. 33 And the people saw them departing, and many knew him, and ran afoot thither out of all cities, and outwent them, and came together unto him. 34 And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things. 35 And when the day was now far spent, his disciples came unto him, and said, This is a desert place, and now the time is far passed: 36 Send them away, that they may go into the country round about, and into the villages, and buy themselves bread: for they have nothing to eat. 37 He answered and said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth of bread, and give them to eat? 38 He saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes. 39 And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies upon the green grass. 40 And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties. 41 And when he had taken the five loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and brake the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among them all. 42 And they did all eat, and were filled. 43 And they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments, and of the fishes. 44 And they that did eat of the loaves were about five thousand men. 45 And straightway he constrained his disciples to get into the ship, and to go to the other side before unto Bethsaida, while he sent away the people. 46 And when he had sent them away, he departed into a mountain to pray. 47 And when even was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land. 48 And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them. 49 But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out: 50 For they all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid. 51 And he went up unto them into the ship; and the wind ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered. 52 For they considered not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened. 53 And when they had passed over, they came into the land of Gennesaret, and drew to the shore. 54 And when they were come out of the ship, straightway they knew him, 55 And ran through that whole region round about, and began to carry about in beds those that were sick, where they heard he was. 56 And whithersoever he entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Jó 1 1 Havia um homem na terra de Uz, cujo nome era Jó; homem íntegro e reto, temente a Deus e que se desviava do mal. 2 Nasceram-lhe sete filhos e três filhas. 3 Possuía sete mil ovelhas, três mil camelos, quinhentas juntas de bois e quinhentas jumentas; era também mui numeroso o pessoal ao seu serviço, de maneira que este homem era o maior de todos os do Oriente. 4 Seus filhos iam às casas uns dos outros e faziam banquetes, cada um por sua vez, e mandavam convidar as suas três irmãs a comerem e beberem com eles. 5 Decorrido o turno de dias de seus banquetes, chamava Jó a seus filhos e os santificava; levantava-se de madrugada e oferecia holocaustos segundo o número de todos eles, pois dizia: Talvez tenham pecado os meus filhos e blasfemado contra Deus em seu coração. Assim o fazia Jó continuamente. 6 Num dia em que os filhos de Deus vieram apresentar-se perante o SENHOR, veio também Satanás entre eles. 7 Então, perguntou o SENHOR a Satanás: Donde vens? Satanás respondeu ao SENHOR e disse: De rodear a terra e passear por ela. 8 Perguntou ainda o SENHOR a Satanás: Observaste o meu servo Jó? Porque ninguém há na terra semelhante a ele, homem íntegro e reto, temente a Deus e que se desvia do mal. 9 Então, respondeu Satanás ao SENHOR: Porventura, Jó debalde teme a Deus? 10 Acaso, não o cercaste com sebe, a ele, a sua casa e a tudo quanto tem? A obra de suas mãos abençoaste, e os seus bens se multiplicaram na terra. 11 Estende, porém, a mão, e toca-lhe em tudo quanto tem, e verás se não blasfema contra ti na tua face. 12 Disse o SENHOR a Satanás: Eis que tudo quanto ele tem está em teu poder; somente contra ele não estendas a mão. E Satanás saiu da presença do SENHOR. 13 Sucedeu um dia, em que seus filhos e suas filhas comiam e bebiam vinho na casa do irmão primogênito, 14 que veio um mensageiro a Jó e lhe disse: Os bois lavravam, e as jumentas pasciam junto a eles; 15 de repente, deram sobre eles os sabeus, e os levaram, e mataram aos servos a fio de espada; só eu escapei, para trazer-te a nova. 16 Falava este ainda quando veio outro e disse: Fogo de Deus caiu do céu, e queimou as ovelhas e os servos, e os consumiu; só eu escapei, para trazer-te a nova. 17 Falava este ainda quando veio outro e disse: Dividiram-se os caldeus em três bandos, deram sobre os camelos, os levaram e mataram aos servos a fio de espada; só eu escapei, para trazer-te a nova. 18 Também este falava ainda quando veio outro e disse: Estando teus filhos e tuas filhas comendo e bebendo vinho, em casa do irmão primogênito, 19 eis que se levantou grande vento do lado do deserto e deu nos quatro cantos da casa, a qual caiu sobre eles, e morreram; só eu escapei, para trazer-te a nova. 20 Então, Jó se levantou, rasgou o seu manto, rapou a cabeça e lançou-se em terra e adorou; 21 e disse: Nu saí do ventre de minha mãe e nu voltarei; o SENHOR o deu e o SENHOR o tomou; bendito seja o nome do SENHOR! 22 Em tudo isto Jó não pecou, nem atribuiu a Deus falta alguma. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  1 There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil. 2 And there were born unto him seven sons and three daughters. 3 His substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the east. 4 And his sons went and feasted in their houses, every one his day; and sent and called for their three sisters to eat and to drink with them. 5 And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually. 6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them. 7 And the Lord said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? LEITURA Bíblia Sagrada Versão - João Ferreira de Almeida - 2ª edição PT-BR King James Version      Gênesis 34 Marcos 5  Ester 10 LEITURA  2º DIA  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Gênesis 34 1 Ora, Diná, filha que Lia dera à luz a Jacó, saiu para ver as filhas da terra. 2 Viu-a Siquém, filho do heveu Hamor, que era príncipe daquela terra, e, tomando-a, a possuiu e assim a humilhou. 3 Sua alma se apegou a Diná, filha de Jacó, e amou a jovem, e falou-lhe ao coração. 4 Então, disse Siquém a Hamor, seu pai: Consegue-me esta jovem para esposa. 5 Quando soube Jacó que Diná, sua filha, fora violada por Siquém, estavam os seus filhos no campo com o gado; calou-se, pois, até que voltassem. 6 E saiu Hamor, pai de Siquém, para falar com Jacó. 7 Vindo os filhos de Jacó do campo e ouvindo o que acontecera, indignaram-se e muito se iraram, pois Siquém praticara um desatino em Israel, violentando a filha de Jacó, o que se não devia fazer. 8 Disse-lhes Hamor: A alma de meu filho Siquém está enamorada fortemente de vossa filha; peço-vos que lha deis por esposa. 9 Aparentai-vos conosco, dai-nos as vossas filhas e tomai as nossas; 10 habitareis conosco, a terra estará ao vosso dispor; habitai e negociai nela e nela tende possessões. 11 E o próprio Siquém disse ao pai e aos irmãos de Diná: Ache eu mercê diante de vós e vos darei o que determinardes. 12 Majorai de muito o dote de casamento e as dádivas, e darei o que me pedirdes; dai-me, porém, a jovem por esposa. 13 Então, os filhos de Jacó, por causa de lhes haver Siquém violado a irmã, Diná, responderam com dolo a Siquém e a seu pai Hamor e lhes disseram: 14 Não podemos fazer isso, dar nossa irmã a um homem incircunciso; porque isso nos seria ignomínia. 15 Sob uma única condição permitiremos: que vos torneis como nós, circuncidando-se todo macho entre vós; 16 então, vos daremos nossas filhas, tomaremos para nós as vossas, habitaremos convosco e seremos um só povo. 17 Se, porém, não nos ouvirdes e não vos circuncidardes, tomaremos a nossa filha e nos retiraremos embora. 18 Tais palavras agradaram a Hamor e a Siquém, seu filho. 19 Não tardou o jovem em fazer isso, porque amava a filha de Jacó e era o mais honrado de toda a casa de seu pai. 20 Vieram, pois, Hamor e Siquém, seu filho, à porta da sua cidade e falaram aos homens da cidade: 21 Estes homens são pacíficos para conosco; portanto, habitem na terra e negociem nela. A terra é bastante espaçosa para contê-los; recebamos por mulheres a suas filhas e demos-lhes também as nossas. 22 Somente, porém, consentirão os homens em habitar conosco, tornando-nos um só povo, se todo macho entre nós se circuncidar, como eles são circuncidados. 23 O seu gado, as suas possessões e todos os seus animais não serão nossos? Consintamos, pois, com eles, e habitarão conosco. 24 E deram ouvidos a Hamor e a Siquém, seu filho, todos os que saíam da porta da cidade; e todo homem foi circuncidado, dos que saíam pela porta da sua cidade. 25 Ao terceiro dia, quando os homens sentiam mais forte a dor, dois filhos de Jacó, Simeão e Levi, irmãos de Diná, tomaram cada um a sua espada, entraram inesperadamente na cidade e mataram os homens todos. 26 Passaram também ao fio da espada a Hamor e a seu filho Siquém; tomaram a Diná da casa de Siquém e saíram. 27 Sobrevieram os filhos de Jacó aos mortos e saquearam a cidade, porque sua irmã fora violada. 28 Levaram deles os rebanhos, os bois, os jumentos e o que havia na cidade e no campo; 29 todos os seus bens, e todos os seus meninos, e as suas mulheres levaram cativos e pilharam tudo o que havia nas casas. 30 Então, disse Jacó a Simeão e a Levi: Vós me afligistes e me fizestes odioso entre os moradores desta terra, entre os cananeus e os ferezeus; sendo nós pouca gente, reunir-se-ão contra mim, e serei destruído, eu e minha casa. 31 Responderam: Abusaria ele de nossa irmã, como se fosse prostituta? ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  34 And Dinah the daughter of Leah, which she bare unto Jacob, went out to see the daughters of the land. 2 And when Shechem the son of Hamor the Hivite, prince of the country, saw her, he took her, and lay with her, and defiled her. 3 And his soul clave unto Dinah the daughter of Jacob, and he loved the damsel, and spake kindly unto the damsel. 4 And Shechem spake unto his father Hamor, saying, Get me this damsel to wife. 5 And Jacob heard that he had defiled Dinah his daughter: now his sons were with his cattle in the field: and Jacob held his peace until they were come. 6 And Hamor the father of Shechem went out unto Jacob to commune with him. 7 And the sons of Jacob came out of the field when they heard it: and the men were grieved, and they were very wroth, because he had wrought folly in Israel in lying with Jacob's daughter: which thing ought not to be done. 8 And Hamor communed with them, saying, The soul of my son Shechem longeth for your daughter: I pray you give her him to wife. 9 And make ye marriages with us, and give your daughters unto us, and take our daughters unto you. 10 And ye shall dwell with us: and the land shall be before you; dwell and trade ye therein, and get you possessions therein. 11 And Shechem said unto her father and unto her brethren, Let me find grace in your eyes, and what ye shall say unto me I will give. 12 Ask me never so much dowry and gift, and I will give according as ye shall say unto me: but give me the damsel to wife. 13 And the sons of Jacob answered Shechem and Hamor his father deceitfully, and said, because he had defiled Dinah their sister: 14 And they said unto them, We cannot do this thing, to give our sister to one that is uncircumcised; for that were a reproach unto us: 15 But in this will we consent unto you: If ye will be as we be, that every male of you be circumcised; 16 Then will we give our daughters unto you, and we will take your daughters to us, and we will dwell with you, and we will become one people. 17 But if ye will not hearken unto us, to be circumcised; then will we take our daughter, and we will be gone. 18 And their words pleased Hamor, and Shechem Hamor's son. 19 And the young man deferred not to do the thing, because he had delight in Jacob's daughter: and he was more honourable than all the house of his father. 20 And Hamor and Shechem his son came unto the gate of their city, and communed with the men of their city, saying, 21 These men are peaceable with us; therefore let them dwell in the land, and trade therein; for the land, behold, it is large enough for them; let us take their daughters to us for wives, and let us give them our daughters. 22 Only herein will the men consent unto us for to dwell with us, to be one people, if every male among us be circumcised, as they are circumcised. 23 Shall not their cattle and their substance and every beast of their's be our's? only let us consent unto them, and they will dwell with us. 24 And unto Hamor and unto Shechem his son hearkened all that went out of the gate of his city; and every male was circumcised, all that went out of the gate of his city. 25 And it came to pass on the third day, when they were sore, that two of the sons of Jacob, Simeon and Levi, Dinah's brethren, took each man his sword, and came upon the city boldly, and slew all the males. 26 And they slew Hamor and Shechem his son with the edge of the sword, and took Dinah out of Shechem's house, and went out. 27 The sons of Jacob came upon the slain, and spoiled the city, because they had defiled their sister. 28 They took their sheep, and their oxen, and their asses, and that which was in the city, and that which was in the field, 29 And all their wealth, and all their little ones, and their wives took they captive, and spoiled even all that was in the house. 30 And Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, Ye have troubled me to make me to stink among the inhabitants of the land, among the Canaanites and the Perizzites: and I being few in number, they shall gather themselves together against me, and slay me; and I shall be destroyed, I and my house. 31 And they said, Should he deal with our sister as with an harlot? ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Marcos 5 1 Entrementes, chegaram à outra margem do mar, à terra dos gerasenos. 2 Ao desembarcar, logo veio dos sepulcros, ao seu encontro, um homem possesso de espírito imundo, 3 o qual vivia nos sepulcros, e nem mesmo com cadeias alguém podia prendê-lo; 4 porque, tendo sido muitas vezes preso com grilhões e cadeias, as cadeias foram quebradas por ele, e os grilhões, despedaçados. E ninguém podia subjugá-lo. 5 Andava sempre, de noite e de dia, clamando por entre os sepulcros e pelos montes, ferindo-se com pedras. 6 Quando, de longe, viu Jesus, correu e o adorou, 7 exclamando com alta voz: Que tenho eu contigo, Jesus, Filho do Deus Altíssimo? Conjuro-te por Deus que não me atormentes! 8 Porque Jesus lhe dissera: Espírito imundo, sai desse homem! 9 E perguntou-lhe: Qual é o teu nome? Respondeu ele: Legião é o meu nome, porque somos muitos. 10 E rogou-lhe encarecidamente que os não mandasse para fora do país. 11 Ora, pastava ali pelo monte uma grande manada de porcos. 12 E os espíritos imundos rogaram a Jesus, dizendo: Manda-nos para os porcos, para que entremos neles. 13 Jesus o permitiu. Então, saindo os espíritos imundos, entraram nos porcos; e a manada, que era cerca de dois mil, precipitou-se despenhadeiro abaixo, para dentro do mar, onde se afogaram. 14 Os porqueiros fugiram e o anunciaram na cidade e pelos campos. Então, saiu o povo para ver o que sucedera. 15 Indo ter com Jesus, viram o endemoninhado, o que tivera a legião, assentado, vestido, em perfeito juízo; e temeram. 16 Os que haviam presenciado os fatos contaram-lhes o que acontecera ao endemoninhado e acerca dos porcos. 17 E entraram a rogar-lhe que se retirasse da terra deles. 18 Ao entrar Jesus no barco, suplicava-lhe o que fora endemoninhado que o deixasse estar com ele. 19 Jesus, porém, não lho permitiu, mas ordenou-lhe: Vai para tua casa, para os teus. Anuncia-lhes tudo o que o Senhor te fez e como teve compaixão de ti. 20 Então, ele foi e começou a proclamar em Decápolis tudo o que Jesus lhe fizera; e todos se admiravam. 21 Tendo Jesus voltado no barco, para o outro lado, afluiu para ele grande multidão; e ele estava junto do mar. 22 Eis que se chegou a ele um dos principais da sinagoga, chamado Jairo, e, vendo-o, prostrou-se a seus pés 23 e insistentemente lhe suplicou: Minha filhinha está à morte; vem, impõe as mãos sobre ela, para que seja salva, e viverá. 24 Jesus foi com ele. Grande multidão o seguia, comprimindo-o. 25 Aconteceu que certa mulher, que, havia doze anos, vinha sofrendo de uma hemorragia 26 e muito padecera à mão de vários médicos, tendo despendido tudo quanto possuía, sem, contudo, nada aproveitar, antes, pelo contrário, indo a pior, 27 tendo ouvido a fama de Jesus, vindo por trás dele, por entre a multidão, tocou-lhe a veste. 28 Porque, dizia: Se eu apenas lhe tocar as vestes, ficarei curada. 29 E logo se lhe estancou a hemorragia, e sentiu no corpo estar curada do seu flagelo. 30 Jesus, reconhecendo imediatamente que dele saíra poder, virando-se no meio da multidão, perguntou: Quem me tocou nas vestes? 31 Responderam-lhe seus discípulos: Vês que a multidão te aperta e dizes: Quem me tocou? 32 Ele, porém, olhava ao redor para ver quem fizera isto. 33 Então, a mulher, atemorizada e tremendo, cônscia do que nela se operara, veio, prostrou-se diante dele e declarou-lhe toda a verdade. 34 E ele lhe disse: Filha, a tua fé te salvou; vai-te em paz e fica livre do teu mal. 35 Falava ele ainda, quando chegaram alguns da casa do chefe da sinagoga, a quem disseram: Tua filha já morreu; por que ainda incomodas o Mestre? 36 Mas Jesus, sem acudir a tais palavras, disse ao chefe da sinagoga: Não temas, crê somente. 37 Contudo, não permitiu que alguém o acompanhasse, senão Pedro e os irmãos Tiago e João. 38 Chegando à casa do chefe da sinagoga, viu Jesus o alvoroço, os que choravam e os que pranteavam muito. 39 Ao entrar, lhes disse: Por que estais em alvoroço e chorais? A criança não está morta, mas dorme. 40 E riam-se dele. Tendo ele, porém, mandado sair a todos, tomou o pai e a mãe da criança e os que vieram com ele e entrou onde ela estava. 41 Tomando-a pela mão, disse: Talitá cumi!, que quer dizer: Menina, eu te mando, levanta-te! 42 Imediatamente, a menina se levantou e pôs-se a andar; pois tinha doze anos. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea. 14 And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done. 15 And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid. 16 And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the swine. 17 And they began to pray him to depart out of their coasts. 18 And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him. 19 Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee. 20 And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel. 21 And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was nigh unto the sea. 22 And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet, 23 And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live. 24 And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him. 25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, 26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, 27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. 28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. 29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. 30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? 31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? 32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. 33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. 34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague. 35 While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further? 36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe. 37 And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James. 38 And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly. 39 And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth. 40 And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying. 41 And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise. 42 And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years.
