E assim se fez segundo José dissera. 3 De manhã, quando já claro, despediram-se estes homens, eles com os seus jumentos. 4 Tendo saído eles da cidade, não se havendo ainda distanciado, disse José ao mordomo de sua casa: Levanta-te e segue após esses homens; e, alcançando-os, lhes dirás: Por que pagastes mal por bem? 5 Não é este o copo em que bebe meu senhor? E por meio do qual faz as suas adivinhações? Procedestes mal no que fizestes. 6 E alcançou-os e lhes falou essas palavras. 7 Então, lhe responderam: Por que diz meu senhor tais palavras? Longe estejam teus servos de praticar semelhante coisa. 8 O dinheiro que achamos na boca dos sacos de mantimento, tornamos a trazer-te desde a terra de Canaã; como, pois, furtaríamos da casa do teu senhor prata ou ouro? 9 Aquele dos teus servos, com quem for achado, morra; e nós ainda seremos escravos do meu senhor. 10 Então, lhes respondeu: Seja conforme as vossas palavras; aquele com quem se achar será meu escravo, porém vós sereis inculpados. 11 E se apressaram, e, tendo cada um posto o saco de mantimento em terra, o abriu. 12 O mordomo os examinou, começando do mais velho e acabando no mais novo; e achou-se o copo no saco de mantimento de Benjamim. 13 Então, rasgaram as suas vestes e, carregados de novo os jumentos, tornaram à cidade. 14 E chegou Judá com seus irmãos à casa de José; este ainda estava ali; e prostraram-se em terra diante dele. 15 Disse-lhes José: Que é isso que fizestes? Não sabíeis vós que tal homem como eu é capaz de adivinhar? 16 Então, disse Judá: Que responderemos a meu senhor? Que falaremos? E como nos justificaremos? Achou Deus a iniqüidade de teus servos; eis que somos escravos de meu senhor, tanto nós como aquele em cuja mão se achou o copo. 17 Mas ele disse: Longe de mim que eu tal faça; o homem em cuja mão foi achado o copo, esse será meu servo; vós, no entanto, subi em paz para vosso pai. 18 Então, Judá se aproximou dele e disse: Ah! Senhor meu, rogo-te, permite que teu servo diga uma palavra aos ouvidos do meu senhor, e não se acenda a tua ira contra o teu servo; porque tu és como o próprio Faraó. 19 Meu senhor perguntou a seus servos: Tendes pai ou irmão? 20 E respondemos a meu senhor: Temos pai já velho e um filho da sua velhice, o mais novo, cujo irmão é morto; e só ele ficou de sua mãe, e seu pai o ama. 21 Então, disseste a teus servos: Trazei-mo, para que ponha os olhos sobre ele. 22 Respondemos ao meu senhor: O moço não pode deixar o pai; se deixar o pai, este morrerá. 23 Então, disseste a teus servos: Se vosso irmão mais novo não descer convosco, nunca mais me vereis o rosto. 24 Tendo nós subido a teu servo, meu pai, e a ele repetido as palavras de meu senhor, 25 disse nosso pai: Voltai, comprai-nos um pouco de mantimento. 26 Nós respondemos: Não podemos descer; mas, se nosso irmão mais moço for conosco, desceremos; pois não podemos ver a face do homem, se este nosso irmão mais moço não estiver conosco. 27 Então, nos disse o teu servo, nosso pai: Sabeis que minha mulher me deu dois filhos; 28 um se ausentou de mim, e eu disse: Certamente foi despedaçado, e até agora não mais o vi; 29 se agora também tirardes este da minha presença, e lhe acontecer algum desastre, fareis descer as minhas cãs com pesar à sepultura. 30 Agora, pois, indo eu a teu servo, meu pai, e não indo o moço conosco, visto a sua alma estar ligada com a alma dele, 31 vendo ele que o moço não está conosco, morrerá; e teus servos farão descer as cãs de teu servo, nosso pai, com tristeza à sepultura. 32 Porque teu servo se deu por fiador por este moço para com o meu pai, dizendo: Se eu o não tornar a trazer-te, serei culpado para com o meu pai todos os dias. 33 Agora, pois, fique teu servo em lugar do moço por servo de meu senhor, e o moço que suba com seus irmãos. 34 Porque como subirei eu a meu pai, se o moço não for comigo? Para que não veja eu o mal que a meu pai sobrevirá. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  44 And he commanded the steward of his house, saying, Fill the men's sacks with food, as much as they can carry, and put every man's money in his sack's mouth. 2 And put my cup, the silver cup, in the sack's mouth of the youngest, and his corn money. And he did according to the word that Joseph had spoken. 3 As soon as the morning was light, the men were sent away, they and their asses. 4 And when they were gone out of the city, and not yet far off, Joseph said unto his steward, Up, follow after the men; and when thou dost overtake them, say unto them, Wherefore have ye rewarded evil for good? 5 Is not this it in which my lord drinketh, and whereby indeed he divineth? ye have done evil in so doing. 6 And he overtook them, and he spake unto them these same words. 7 And they said unto him, Wherefore saith my lord these words? God forbid that thy servants should do according to this thing: 8 Behold, the money, which we found in our sacks' mouths, we brought again unto thee out of the land of Canaan: how then should we steal out of thy lord's house silver or gold? 9 With whomsoever of thy servants it be found, both let him die, and we also will be my lord's bondmen. 10 And he said, Now also let it be according unto your words: he with whom it is found shall be my servant; and ye shall be blameless. 11 Then they speedily took down every man his sack to the ground, and opened every man his sack. 12 And he searched, and began at the eldest, and left at the youngest: and the cup was found in Benjamin's sack. 13 Then they rent their clothes, and laded every man his ass, and returned to the city. 14 And Judah and his brethren came to Joseph's house; for he was yet there: and they fell before him on the ground. 15 And Joseph said unto them, What deed is this that ye have done? wot ye not that such a man as I can certainly divine? 16 And Judah said, What shall we say unto my lord? what shall we speak? or how shall we clear ourselves? God hath found out the iniquity of thy servants: behold, we are my lord's servants, both we, and he also with whom the cup is found. 17 And he said, God forbid that I should do so: but the man in whose hand the cup is found, he shall be my servant; and as for you, get you up in peace unto your father. 18 Then Judah came near unto him, and said, Oh my lord, let thy servant, I pray thee, speak a word in my lord's ears, and let not thine anger burn against thy servant: for thou art even as Pharaoh. 19 My lord asked his servants, saying, Have ye a father, or a brother? 20 And we said unto my lord, We have a father, an old man, and a child of his old age, a little one; and his brother is dead, and he alone is left of his mother, and his father loveth him. 21 And thou saidst unto thy servants, Bring him down unto me, that I may set mine eyes upon him. 22 And we said unto my lord, The lad cannot leave his father: for if he should leave his father, his father would die. 23 And thou saidst unto thy servants, Except your youngest brother come down with you, ye shall see my face no more. 24 And it came to pass when we came up unto thy servant my father, we told him the words of my lord. 25 And our father said, Go again, and buy us a little food. 26 And we said, We cannot go down: if our youngest brother be with us, then will we go down: for we may not see the man's face, except our youngest brother be with us. 27 And thy servant my father said unto us, Ye know that my wife bare me two sons: 28 And the one went out from me, and I said, Surely he is torn in pieces; and I saw him not since: 29 And if ye take this also from me, and mischief befall him, ye shall bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to the grave. 30 Now therefore when I come to thy servant my father, and the lad be not with us; seeing that his life is bound up in the lad's life; 31 It shall come to pass, when he seeth that the lad is not with us, that he will die: and thy servants shall bring down the gray hairs of thy servant our father with sorrow to the grave. 32 For thy servant became surety for the lad unto my father, saying, If I bring him not unto thee, then I shall bear the blame to my father for ever. 33 Now therefore, I pray thee, let thy servant abide instead of the lad a bondman to my lord; and let the lad go up with his brethren. 34 For how shall I go up to my father, and the lad be not with me? lest peradventure I see the evil that shall come on my father. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Marcos 15 1 Logo pela manhã, entraram em conselho os principais sacerdotes com os anciãos, os escribas e todo o Sinédrio; e, amarrando a Jesus, levaram-no e o entregaram a Pilatos. 2 Pilatos o interrogou: És tu o rei dos judeus? Respondeu Jesus: Tu o dizes. 3 Então, os principais sacerdotes o acusavam de muitas coisas. 4 Tornou Pilatos a interrogá-lo: Nada respondes? Vê quantas acusações te fazem! 5 Jesus, porém, não respondeu palavra, a ponto de Pilatos muito se admirar. 6 Ora, por ocasião da festa, era costume soltar ao povo um dos presos, qualquer que eles pedissem. 7 Havia um, chamado Barrabás, preso com amotinadores, os quais em um tumulto haviam cometido homicídio. 8 Vindo a multidão, começou a pedir que lhes fizesse como de costume. 9 E Pilatos lhes respondeu, dizendo: Quereis que eu vos solte o rei dos judeus? 10 Pois ele bem percebia que por inveja os principais sacerdotes lho haviam entregado. 11 Mas estes incitaram a multidão no sentido de que lhes soltasse, de preferência, Barrabás. 12 Mas Pilatos lhes perguntou: Que farei, então, deste a quem chamais o rei dos judeus? 13 Eles, porém, clamavam: Crucifica-o! 14 Mas Pilatos lhes disse: Que mal fez ele? E eles gritavam cada vez mais: Crucifica-o! 15 Então, Pilatos, querendo contentar a multidão, soltou-lhes Barrabás; e, após mandar açoitar a Jesus, entregou-o para ser crucificado. 16 Então, os soldados o levaram para dentro do palácio, que é o pretório, e reuniram todo o destacamento. 17 Vestiram-no de púrpura e, tecendo uma coroa de espinhos, lha puseram na cabeça. 18 E o saudavam, dizendo: Salve, rei dos judeus! 19 Davam-lhe na cabeça com um caniço, cuspiam nele e, pondo-se de joelhos, o adoravam. 20 Depois de o terem escarnecido, despiram-lhe a púrpura e o vestiram com as suas próprias vestes. Então, conduziram Jesus para fora, com o fim de o crucificarem. 21 E obrigaram a Simão Cireneu, que passava, vindo do campo, pai de Alexandre e de Rufo, a carregar-lhe a cruz. 22 E levaram Jesus para o Gólgota, que quer dizer Lugar da Caveira. 23 Deram-lhe a beber vinho com mirra; ele, porém, não tomou. 24 Então, o crucificaram e repartiram entre si as vestes dele, lançando-lhes sorte, para ver o que levaria cada um. 25 Era a hora terceira quando o crucificaram. 26 E, por cima, estava, em epígrafe, a sua acusação: O REI DOS JUDEUS. 27 Com ele crucificaram dois ladrões, um à sua direita, e outro à sua esquerda. 28 [E cumpriu-se a Escritura que diz: Com malfeitores foi contado.] 29 Os que iam passando, blasfemavam dele, meneando a cabeça e dizendo: Ah! Tu que destróis o santuário e, em três dias, o reedificas! 30 Salva-te a ti mesmo, descendo da cruz! 31 De igual modo, os principais sacerdotes com os escribas, escarnecendo, entre si diziam: Salvou os outros, a si mesmo não pode salvar-se; 32 desça agora da cruz o Cristo, o rei de Israel, para que vejamos e creiamos. Também os que com ele foram crucificados o insultavam. 33 Chegada a hora sexta, houve trevas sobre toda a terra até a hora nona. 34 À hora nona, clamou Jesus em alta voz: Eloí, Eloí, lamá sabactâni? Que quer dizer: Deus meu, Deus meu, por que me desamparaste? 35 Alguns dos que ali estavam, ouvindo isto, diziam: Vede, chama por Elias! 36 E um deles correu a embeber uma esponja em vinagre e, pondo-a na ponta de um caniço, deu-lhe de beber, dizendo: Deixai, vejamos se Elias vem tirá-lo! 37 Mas Jesus, dando um grande brado, expirou. 38 E o véu do santuário rasgou-se em duas partes, de alto a baixo. 39 O centurião que estava em frente dele, vendo que assim expirara, disse: Verdadeiramente, este homem era o Filho de Deus. 40 Estavam também ali algumas mulheres, observando de longe; entre elas, Maria Madalena, Maria, mãe de Tiago, o menor, e de José, e Salomé; 41 as quais, quando Jesus estava na Galiléia, o acompanhavam e serviam; e, além destas, muitas outras que haviam subido com ele para Jerusalém. 42 Ao cair da tarde, por ser o dia da preparação, isto é, a véspera do sábado, 43 vindo José de Arimatéia, ilustre membro do Sinédrio, que também esperava o reino de Deus, dirigiu-se resolutamente a Pilatos e pediu o corpo de Jesus. 44 Mas Pilatos admirou-se de que ele já tivesse morrido. E, tendo chamado o centurião, perguntou-lhe se havia muito que morrera. 45 Após certificar-se, pela informação do comandante, cedeu o corpo a José. 46 Este, baixando o corpo da cruz, envolveu-o em um lençol que comprara e o depositou em um túmulo que tinha sido aberto numa rocha; e rolou uma pedra para a entrada do túmulo. 47 Ora, Maria Madalena e Maria, mãe de José, observaram onde ele foi posto. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  15 And straightway in the morning the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council, and bound Jesus, and carried him away, and delivered him to Pilate. 2 And Pilate asked him, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answering said unto them, Thou sayest it. 3 And the chief priests accused him of many things: but he answered nothing. 4 And Pilate asked him again, saying, Answerest thou nothing? behold how many things they witness against thee. 5 But Jesus yet answered nothing; so that Pilate marvelled. 6 Now at that feast he released unto them one prisoner, whomsoever they desired. 7 And there was one named Barabbas, which lay bound with them that had made insurrection with him, who had committed murder in the insurrection. 8 And the multitude crying aloud began to desire him to do as he had ever done unto them. 9 But Pilate answered them, saying, Will ye that I release unto you the King of the Jews? 10 For he knew that the chief priests had delivered him for envy. 11 But the chief priests moved the people, that he should rather release Barabbas unto them. 12 And Pilate answered and said again unto them, What will ye then that I shall do unto him whom ye call the King of the Jews? 13 And they cried out again, Crucify him. 14 Then Pilate said unto them, Why, what evil hath he done? And they cried out the more exceedingly, Crucify him. 15 And so Pilate, willing to content the people, released Barabbas unto them, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged him, to be crucified. 16 And the soldiers led him away into the hall, called Praetorium; and they call together the whole band. 17 And they clothed him with purple, and platted a crown of thorns, and put it about his head, 18 And began to salute him, Hail, King of the Jews! 19 And they smote him on the head with a reed, and did spit upon him, and bowing their knees worshipped him. 20 And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple from him, and put his own clothes on him, and led him out to crucify him. 21 And they compel one Simon a Cyrenian, who passed by, coming out of the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to bear his cross. 22 And they bring him unto the place Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, The place of a skull. 23 And they gave him to drink wine mingled with myrrh: but he received it not. 24 And when they had crucified him, they parted his garments, casting lots upon them, what every man should take. 25 And it was the third hour, and they crucified him. 26 And the superscription of his accusation was written over, The King Of The Jews. 27 And with him they crucify two thieves; the one on his right hand, and the other on his left. 28 And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors. 29 And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah, thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, 30 Save thyself, and come down from the cross. 31 Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; himself he cannot save. 32 Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reviled him. 33 And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour. 34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? 35 And some of them that stood by, when they heard it, said, Behold, he calleth Elias. 36 And one ran and filled a spunge full of vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see whether Elias will come to take him down. 37 And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost. 38 And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom. 39 And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God. 40 There were also women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome; 41 (Who also, when he was in Galilee, followed him, and ministered unto him;) and many other women which came up with him unto Jerusalem. 42 And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath, 43 Joseph of Arimathaea, an honourable counsellor, which also waited for the kingdom of God, came, and went in boldly unto Pilate, and craved the body of Jesus. 44 And Pilate marvelled if he were already dead: and calling unto him the centurion, he asked him whether he had been any while dead. 45 And when he knew it of the centurion, he gave the body to Joseph. 46 And he bought fine linen, and took him down, and wrapped him in the linen, and laid him in a sepulchre which was hewn out of a rock, and rolled a stone unto the door of the sepulchre. 47 And Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses beheld where he was laid. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Jó 11 1 Então, respondeu Zofar, o naamatita: 2 Porventura, não se dará resposta a esse palavrório? Acaso, tem razão o tagarela? 3 Será o caso de as tuas parolas fazerem calar os homens? E zombarás tu sem que ninguém te envergonhe? 4 Pois dizes: A minha doutrina é pura, e sou limpo aos teus olhos. 5 Oh! Falasse Deus, e abrisse os seus lábios contra ti, 6 e te revelasse os segredos da sabedoria, da verdadeira sabedoria, que é multiforme! Sabe, portanto, que Deus permite seja esquecida parte da tua iniqüidade. 7 Porventura, desvendarás os arcanos de Deus ou penetrarás até à perfeição do Todo-Poderoso? 8 Como as alturas dos céus é a sua sabedoria; que poderás fazer? Mais profunda é ela do que o abismo; que poderás saber? 9 A sua medida é mais longa do que a terra e mais larga do que o mar. 10 Se ele passa, prende a alguém e chama a juízo, quem o poderá impedir? 11 Porque ele conhece os homens vãos e, sem esforço, vê a iniqüidade. 12 Mas o homem estúpido se tornará sábio, quando a cria de um asno montês nascer homem. 13 Se dispuseres o coração e estenderes as mãos para Deus; 14 se lançares para longe a iniqüidade da tua mão e não permitires habitar na tua tenda a injustiça, 15 então, levantarás o rosto sem mácula, estarás seguro e não temerás. 16 Pois te esquecerás dos teus sofrimentos e deles só terás lembrança como de águas que passaram. 17 A tua vida será mais clara que o meio-dia; ainda que lhe haja trevas, serão como a manhã. 18 Sentir-te-ás seguro, porque haverá esperança; olharás em derredor e dormirás tranqüilo. 19 Deitar-te-ás, e ninguém te espantará; e muitos procurarão obter o teu favor. 20 Mas os olhos dos perversos desfalecerão, o seu refúgio perecerá; sua esperança será o render do espírito. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  11 Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said, 2 Should not the multitude of words be answered? and should a man full of talk be justified? 3 Should thy lies make men hold their peace? and when thou mockest, shall no man make thee ashamed? 4 For thou hast said, My doctrine is pure, and I am clean in thine eyes. 5 But oh that God would speak, and open his lips against thee; 6 And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, that they are double to that which is! Know therefore that God exacteth of thee less than thine iniquity deserveth. 7 Canst thou by searching find out God? canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection? 8 It is as high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know? 9 The measure thereof is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea. 10 If he cut off, and shut up, or gather together, then who can hinder him? 11 For he knoweth vain men: he seeth wickedness also; will he not then consider it? 12 For vain men would be wise, though man be born like a wild ass's colt. 13 If thou prepare thine heart, and stretch out thine hands toward him; 14 If iniquity be in thine hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles. 15 For then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear: 16 Because thou shalt forget thy misery, and remember it as waters that pass away: 17 And thine age shall be clearer than the noonday: thou shalt shine forth, thou shalt be as the morning. 18 And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; yea, thou shalt dig about thee, and thou shalt take thy rest in safety. 19 Also thou shalt lie down, and none shall make thee afraid; yea, many shall make suit unto thee. 20 But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and they shall not escape, and their hope shall be as the giving up of the ghost. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦

LEITURA Bíblia Sagrada Versão - João Ferreira de Almeida - 2ª edição PT-BR King James Version      Gênesis 43 Marcos 14  Jó 10 LEITURA  11º DIA  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Gênesis 43 1 A fome persistia gravíssima na terra. 2 Tendo eles acabado de consumir o cereal que trouxeram do Egito, disse-lhes seu pai: Voltai, comprai-nos um pouco de mantimento. 3 Mas Judá lhe respondeu: Fortemente nos protestou o homem, dizendo: Não me vereis o rosto, se o vosso irmão não vier convosco. 4 Se resolveres enviar conosco o nosso irmão, desceremos e te compraremos mantimento; 5 se, porém, não o enviares, não desceremos; pois o homem nos disse: Não me vereis o rosto, se o vosso irmão não vier convosco. 6 Disse-lhes Israel: Por que me fizestes esse mal, dando a saber àquele homem que tínheis outro irmão? 7 Responderam eles: O homem nos perguntou particularmente por nós e pela nossa parentela, dizendo: Vive ainda vosso pai? Tendes outro irmão? Respondemos-lhe segundo as suas palavras. Acaso, poderíamos adivinhar que haveria de dizer: Trazei vosso irmão? 8 Com isto disse Judá a Israel, seu pai: Envia o jovem comigo, e nos levantaremos e iremos; para que vivamos e não morramos, nem nós, nem tu, nem os nossos filhinhos. 9 Eu serei responsável por ele, da minha mão o requererás; se eu to não trouxer e não to puser à presença, serei culpado para contigo para sempre. 10 Se não nos tivéssemos demorado já estaríamos, com certeza, de volta segunda vez. 11 Respondeu-lhes Israel, seu pai: Se é tal, fazei, pois, isto: tomai do mais precioso desta terra nos sacos para o mantimento e levai de presente a esse homem: um pouco de bálsamo e um pouco de mel, arômatas e mirra, nozes de pistácia e amêndoas; 12 levai também dinheiro em dobro; e o dinheiro restituído na boca dos sacos de cereal, tornai a levá-lo convosco; pode bem ser que fosse engano. 13 Levai também vosso irmão, levantai-vos e voltai àquele homem. 14 Deus Todo-Poderoso vos dê misericórdia perante o homem, para que vos restitua o vosso outro irmão e deixe vir Benjamim. Quanto a mim, se eu perder os filhos, sem filhos ficarei. 15 Tomaram, pois, os homens os presentes, o dinheiro em dobro e a Benjamim; levantaram-se, desceram ao Egito e se apresentaram perante José. 16 Vendo José a Benjamim com eles, disse ao despenseiro de sua casa: Leva estes homens para casa, mata reses e prepara tudo; pois estes homens comerão comigo ao meio-dia. 17 Fez ele como José lhe ordenara e levou os homens para a casa de José. 18 Os homens tiveram medo, porque foram levados à casa de José; e diziam: É por causa do dinheiro que da outra vez voltou nos sacos de cereal, para nos acusar e arremeter contra nós, escravizar-nos e tomar nossos jumentos. 19 E se chegaram ao mordomo da casa de José, e lhe falaram à porta, 20 e disseram: Ai! Senhor meu, já uma vez descemos a comprar mantimento; 21 quando chegamos à estalagem, abrindo os sacos de cereal, eis que o dinheiro de cada um estava na boca do saco de cereal, nosso dinheiro intacto; tornamos a trazê-lo conosco. 22 Trouxemos também outro dinheiro conosco, para comprar mantimento; não sabemos quem tenha posto o nosso dinheiro nos sacos de cereal. 23 Ele disse: Paz seja convosco, não temais; o vosso Deus, e o Deus de vosso pai, vos deu tesouro nos sacos de cereal; o vosso dinheiro me chegou a mim. E lhes trouxe fora a Simeão. 24 Depois, levou o mordomo aqueles homens à casa de José e lhes deu água, e eles lavaram os pés; também deu ração aos seus jumentos. 25 Então, prepararam o presente, para quando José viesse ao meio-dia; pois ouviram que ali haviam de comer. 26 Chegando José a casa, trouxeram-lhe para dentro o presente que tinham em mãos; e prostraram-se perante ele até à terra. 27 Ele lhes perguntou pelo seu bem-estar e disse: Vosso pai, o ancião de quem me falastes, vai bem? Ainda vive? 28 Responderam: Vai bem o teu servo, nosso pai vive ainda; e abaixaram a cabeça e prostraram-se. 29 Levantando José os olhos, viu a Benjamim, seu irmão, filho de sua mãe, e disse: É este o vosso irmão mais novo, de quem me falastes? E acrescentou: Deus te conceda graça, meu filho. 30 José se apressou e procurou onde chorar, porque se movera no seu íntimo, para com seu irmão; entrou na câmara e chorou ali. 31 Depois, lavou o rosto e saiu; conteve-se e disse: Servi a refeição. 32 Serviram-lhe a ele à parte, e a eles também à parte, e à parte aos egípcios que comiam com ele; porque aos egípcios não lhes era lícito comer pão com os hebreus, porquanto é isso abominação para os egípcios. 33 E assentaram-se diante dele, o primogênito segundo a sua primogenitura e o mais novo segundo a sua menoridade; disto os homens se maravilhavam entre si. 34 Então, lhes apresentou as porções que estavam diante dele; a porção de Benjamim era cinco vezes mais do que a de qualquer deles. E murmuravam contra ela. 6 Mas Jesus disse: Deixai-a; por que a molestais? Ela praticou boa ação para comigo. 7 Porque os pobres, sempre os tendes convosco e, quando quiserdes, podeis fazer-lhes bem, mas a mim nem sempre me tendes. 8 Ela fez o que pôde: antecipou-se a ungir-me para a sepultura. 9 Em verdade vos digo: onde for pregado em todo o mundo o evangelho, será também contado o que ela fez, para memória sua. 10 E Judas Iscariotes, um dos doze, foi ter com os principais sacerdotes, para lhes entregar Jesus. 11 Eles, ouvindo-o, alegraram-se e lhe prometeram dinheiro; nesse meio tempo, buscava ele uma boa ocasião para o entregar. 12 E, no primeiro dia da Festa dos Pães Asmos, quando se fazia o sacrifício do cordeiro pascal, disseram-lhe seus discípulos: Onde queres que vamos fazer os preparativos para comeres a Páscoa? 13 Então, enviou dois dos seus discípulos, dizendo-lhes: Ide à cidade, e vos sairá ao encontro um homem trazendo um cântaro de água; 14 segui-o e dizei ao dono da casa onde ele entrar que o Mestre pergunta: Onde é o meu aposento no qual hei de comer a Páscoa com os meus discípulos? 15 E ele vos mostrará um espaçoso cenáculo mobilado e pronto; ali fazei os preparativos. 16 Saíram, pois, os discípulos, foram à cidade e, achando tudo como Jesus lhes tinha dito, prepararam a Páscoa. 17 Ao cair da tarde, foi com os doze. 18 Quando estavam à mesa e comiam, disse Jesus: Em verdade vos digo que um dentre vós, o que come comigo, me trairá. 19 E eles começaram a entristecer-se e a dizer-lhe, um após outro: Porventura, sou eu? 20 Respondeu-lhes: É um dos doze, o que mete comigo a mão no prato. 21 Pois o Filho do Homem vai, como está escrito a seu respeito; mas ai daquele por intermédio de quem o Filho do Homem está sendo traído! Melhor lhe fora não haver nascido! 22 E, enquanto comiam, tomou Jesus um pão e, abençoando-o, o partiu e lhes deu, dizendo: Tomai, isto é o meu corpo. 23 A seguir, tomou Jesus um cálice e, tendo dado graças, o deu aos seus discípulos; e todos beberam dele. 24 Então, lhes disse: Isto é o meu sangue, o sangue da [nova] aliança, derramado em favor de muitos. 25 Em verdade vos digo que jamais beberei do fruto da videira, até àquele dia em que o hei de beber, novo, no reino de Deus. 26 Tendo cantado um hino, saíram para o monte das Oliveiras. 27 Então, lhes disse Jesus: Todos vós vos escandalizareis, porque está escrito: Ferirei o pastor, e as ovelhas ficarão dispersas. 28 Mas, depois da minha ressurreição, irei adiante de vós para a Galiléia. 29 Disse-lhe Pedro: Ainda que todos se escandalizem, eu, jamais! 30 Respondeu-lhe Jesus: Em verdade te digo que hoje, nesta noite, antes que duas vezes cante o galo, tu me negarás três vezes. 31 Mas ele insistia com mais veemência: Ainda que me seja necessário morrer contigo, de nenhum modo te negarei. Assim disseram todos. 32 Então, foram a um lugar chamado Getsêmani; ali chegados, disse Jesus a seus discípulos: Assentai-vos aqui, enquanto eu vou orar. 33 E, levando consigo a Pedro, Tiago e João, começou a sentir-se tomado de pavor e de angústia. 34 E lhes disse: A minha alma está profundamente triste até à morte; ficai aqui e vigiai. 35 E, adiantando-se um pouco, prostrou-se em terra; e orava para que, se possível, lhe fosse poupada aquela hora. 36 E dizia: Aba, Pai, tudo te é possível; passa de mim este cálice; contudo, não seja o que eu quero, e sim o que tu queres. 37 Voltando, achou-os dormindo; e disse a Pedro: Simão, tu dormes? Não pudeste vigiar nem uma hora? 38 Vigiai e orai, para que não entreis em tentação; o espírito, na verdade, está pronto, mas a carne é fraca. 39 Retirando-se de novo, orou repetindo as mesmas palavras. 40 Voltando, achou-os outra vez dormindo, porque os seus olhos estavam pesados; e não sabiam o que lhe responder. 41 E veio pela terceira vez e disse-lhes: Ainda dormis e repousais! Basta! Chegou a hora; o Filho do Homem está sendo entregue nas mãos dos pecadores. 42 Levantai-vos, vamos! Eis que o traidor se aproxima. 43 E logo, falava ele ainda, quando chegou Judas, um dos doze, e com ele, vinda da parte dos principais sacerdotes, escribas e anciãos, uma turba com espadas e porretes. 44 Ora, o traidor tinha-lhes dado esta senha: Aquele a quem eu beijar, é esse; prendei-o e levai-o com segurança. 45 E, logo que chegou, aproximando-se, disse-lhe: Mestre! E o beijou. 46 Então, lhe deitaram as mãos e o prenderam. 47 Nisto, um dos circunstantes, sacando da espada, feriu o servo do sumo sacerdote e cortou-lhe a orelha. 48 Disse-lhes Jesus: Saístes com espadas e porretes para prender-me, como a um salteador? 49 Todos os dias eu estava convosco no templo, ensinando, e não me prendestes; contudo, é para que se cumpram as Escrituras. 50 Então, deixando-o, todos fugiram. 51 Seguia-o um jovem, coberto unicamente com um lençol, e lançaram-lhe a mão. 52 Mas ele, largando o lençol, fugiu desnudo. 53 E levaram Jesus ao sumo sacerdote, e reuniram-se todos os principais sacerdotes, os anciãos e os escribas. 54 Pedro seguira-o de longe até ao interior do pátio do sumo sacerdote e estava assentado entre os serventuários, aquentando-se ao fogo. 55 E os principais sacerdotes e todo o Sinédrio procuravam algum testemunho contra Jesus para o condenar à morte e não achavam. 56 Pois muitos testemunhavam falsamente contra Jesus, mas os depoimentos não eram coerentes. 57 E, levantando-se alguns, testificavam falsamente, dizendo: 58 Nós o ouvimos declarar: Eu destruirei este santuário edificado por mãos humanas e, em três dias, construirei outro, não por mãos humanas. 59 Nem assim o testemunho deles era coerente. 60 Levantando-se o sumo sacerdote, no meio, perguntou a Jesus: Nada respondes ao que estes depõem contra ti? 61 Ele, porém, guardou silêncio e nada respondeu. Tornou a interrogá-lo o sumo sacerdote e lhe disse: És tu o Cristo, o Filho do Deus Bendito? 62 Jesus respondeu: Eu sou, e vereis o Filho do Homem assentado à direita do Todo-Poderoso e vindo com as nuvens do céu. 63 Então, o sumo sacerdote rasgou as suas vestes e disse: Que mais necessidade temos de testemunhas? 64 Ouvistes a blasfêmia; que vos parece? E todos o julgaram réu de morte. 65 Puseram-se alguns a cuspir nele, a cobrir-lhe o rosto, a dar-lhe murros e a dizer-lhe: Profetiza! E os guardas o tomaram a bofetadas. 66 Estando Pedro embaixo no pátio, veio uma das criadas do sumo sacerdote 67 e, vendo a Pedro, que se aquentava, fixou-o e disse: Tu também estavas com Jesus, o Nazareno. 68 Mas ele o negou, dizendo: Não o conheço, nem compreendo o que dizes. E saiu para o alpendre. [E o galo cantou.] 69 E a criada, vendo-o, tornou a dizer aos circunstantes: Este é um deles. 70 Mas ele outra vez o negou. E, pouco depois, os que ali estavam disseram a Pedro: Verdadeiramente, és um deles, porque também tu és galileu. 71 Ele, porém, começou a praguejar e a jurar: Não conheço esse homem de quem falais! 72 E logo cantou o galo pela segunda vez. Ou são os teus anos como os anos de um homem, 6 para te informares da minha iniqüidade e averiguares o meu pecado? 7 Bem sabes tu que eu não sou culpado; todavia, ninguém há que me livre da tua mão. 8 As tuas mãos me plasmaram e me aperfeiçoaram, porém, agora, queres devorar-me. 9 Lembra-te de que me formaste como em barro; e queres, agora, reduzir-me a pó? 10 Porventura, não me derramaste como leite e não me coalhaste como queijo? 11 De pele e carne me vestiste e de ossos e tendões me entreteceste. 12 Vida me concedeste na tua benevolência, e o teu cuidado a mim me guardou. 13 Estas coisas, as ocultaste no teu coração; mas bem sei o que resolveste contigo mesmo. 14 Se eu pecar, tu me observas; e da minha iniqüidade não me perdoarás. 15 Se for perverso, ai de mim! E, se for justo, não ouso levantar a cabeça, pois estou cheio de ignomínia e olho para a minha miséria. 16 Porque, se a levanto, tu me caças como a um leão feroz e de novo revelas poder maravilhoso contra mim. 17 Tu renovas contra mim as tuas testemunhas e multiplicas contra mim a tua ira; males e lutas se sucedem contra mim. 18 Por que, pois, me tiraste da madre? Ah! Se eu morresse antes que olhos nenhuns me vissem! 19 Teria eu sido como se nunca existira e já do ventre teria sido levado à sepultura. 20 Não são poucos os meus dias? Cessa, pois, e deixa-me, para que por um pouco eu tome alento, 21 antes que eu vá para o lugar de que não voltarei, para a terra das trevas e da sombra da morte; 22 terra de negridão, de profunda escuridade, terra da sombra da morte e do caos, onde a própria luz é tenebrosa. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  10 My soul is weary of my life; I will leave my complaint upon myself; I will speak in the bitterness of my soul. 2 I will say unto God, Do not condemn me; shew me wherefore thou contendest with me. 3 Is it good unto thee that thou shouldest oppress, that thou shouldest despise the work of thine hands, and shine upon the counsel of the wicked? 4 Hast thou eyes of flesh? or seest thou as man seeth? 5 Are thy days as the days of man? are thy years as man's days, 6 That thou enquirest after mine iniquity, and searchest after my sin? 7 Thou knowest that I am not wicked; and there is none that can deliver out of thine hand. 8 Thine hands have made me and fashioned me together round about; yet thou dost destroy me. 9 Remember, I beseech thee, that thou hast made me as the clay; and wilt thou bring me into dust again? 10 Hast thou not poured me out as milk, and curdled me like cheese? 11 Thou hast clothed me with skin and flesh, and hast fenced me with bones and sinews. 12 Thou hast granted me life and favour, and thy visitation hath preserved my spirit. 13 And these things hast thou hid in thine heart: I know that this is with thee. 14 If I sin, then thou markest me, and thou wilt not acquit me from mine iniquity. 15 If I be wicked, woe unto me; and if I be righteous, yet will I not lift up my head. I am full of confusion; therefore see thou mine affliction; 16 For it increaseth. Thou huntest me as a fierce lion: and again thou shewest thyself marvellous upon me. 17 Thou renewest thy witnesses against me, and increasest thine indignation upon me; changes and war are against me. 18 Wherefore then hast thou brought me forth out of the womb? Oh that I had given up the ghost, and no eye had seen me! 19 I should have been as though I had not been; I should have been carried from the womb to the grave. 20 Are not my days few? cease then, and let me alone, that I may take comfort a little, 21 Before I go whence I shall not return, even to the land of darkness and the shadow of death; 22 A land of darkness, as darkness itself; and of the shadow of death, without any order, and where the light is as darkness. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦
