Deuteronômio 20
1 Quando saíres à peleja contra os teus inimigos e vires cavalos, e carros, e povo maior em número do que tu, não os temerás; pois o SENHOR, teu Deus, que te fez sair da terra do Egito, está contigo.
2 Quando vos achegardes à peleja, o sacerdote se adiantará, e falará ao povo,
3 e dir-lhe-á: Ouvi, ó Israel, hoje, vos achegais à peleja contra os vossos inimigos; que não desfaleça o vosso coração; não tenhais medo, não tremais, nem vos aterrorizeis diante deles,
4 pois o SENHOR, vosso Deus, é quem vai convosco a pelejar por vós contra os vossos inimigos, para vos salvar.
5 Os oficiais falarão ao povo, dizendo: Qual o homem que edificou casa nova e ainda não a consagrou? Vá, torne-se para casa, para que não morra na peleja, e outrem a consagre.
6 Qual o homem que plantou uma vinha e ainda não a desfrutou? Vá, torne-se para casa, para que não morra na peleja, e outrem a desfrute.
7 Qual o homem que está desposado com alguma mulher e ainda não a recebeu? Vá, torne-se para casa, para que não morra na peleja, e outro homem a receba.
8 E continuarão os oficiais a falar ao povo, dizendo: Qual o homem medroso e de coração tímido? Vá, torne-se para casa, para que o coração de seus irmãos se não derreta como o seu coração.
9 Quando os oficiais tiverem falado ao povo, designarão os capitães dos exércitos para a dianteira do povo.
10 Quando te aproximares de alguma cidade para pelejar contra ela, oferecer-lhe-ás a paz.
11 Se a sua resposta é de paz, e te abrir as portas, todo o povo que nela se achar será sujeito a trabalhos forçados e te servirá.
12 Porém, se ela não fizer paz contigo, mas te fizer guerra, então, a sitiarás.
13 E o SENHOR, teu Deus, a dará na tua mão; e todos os do sexo masculino que houver nela passarás a fio de espada;
14 mas as mulheres, e as crianças, e os animais, e tudo o que houver na cidade, todo o seu despojo, tomarás para ti; e desfrutarás o despojo dos inimigos que o SENHOR, teu Deus, te deu.
15 Assim farás a todas as cidades que estiverem mui longe de ti, que não forem das cidades destes povos.
16 Porém, das cidades destas nações que o SENHOR, teu Deus, te dá em herança, não deixarás com vida tudo o que tem fôlego.
17 Antes, como te ordenou o SENHOR, teu Deus, destruí-las-ás totalmente: os heteus, os amorreus, os cananeus, os ferezeus, os heveus e os jebuseus,
18 para que não vos ensinem a fazer segundo todas as suas abominações, que fizeram a seus deuses, pois pecaríeis contra o SENHOR, vosso Deus.
19 Quando sitiares uma cidade por muito tempo, pelejando contra ela para a tomar, não destruirás o seu arvoredo, metendo nele o machado, porque dele comerás; pelo que não o cortarás, pois será a árvore do campo algum homem, para que fosse sitiada por ti?
20 Mas as árvores cujos frutos souberes não se comem, destruí-las-ás, cortando-as; e, contra a cidade que guerrear contra ti, edificarás baluartes, até que seja derribada.
20 When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the Lord thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. 2 And it shall be, when ye are come nigh unto the battle, that the priest shall approach and speak unto the people, 3 And shall say unto them, Hear, O Israel, ye approach this day unto battle against your enemies: let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be ye terrified because of them; 4 For the Lord your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you. 5 And the officers shall speak unto the people, saying, What man is there that hath built a new house, and hath not dedicated it? let him go and return to his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man dedicate it. 6 And what man is he that hath planted a vineyard, and hath not yet eaten of it? let him also go and return unto his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man eat of it. 7 And what man is there that hath betrothed a wife, and hath not taken her? let him go and return unto his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man take her. 8 And the officers shall speak further unto the people, and they shall say, What man is there that is fearful and fainthearted? let him go and return unto his house, lest his brethren's heart faint as well as his heart. 9 And it shall be, when the officers have made an end of speaking unto the people that they shall make captains of the armies to lead the people. 10 When thou comest nigh unto a city to fight against it, then proclaim peace unto it. 11 And it shall be, if it make thee answer of peace, and open unto thee, then it shall be, that all the people that is found therein shall be tributaries unto thee, and they shall serve thee. 12 And if it will make no peace with thee, but will make war against thee, then thou shalt besiege it: 13 And when the Lord thy God hath delivered it into thine hands, thou shalt smite every male thereof with the edge of the sword: 14 But the women, and the little ones, and the cattle, and all that is in the city, even all the spoil thereof, shalt thou take unto thyself; and thou shalt eat the spoil of thine enemies, which the Lord thy God hath given thee. 15 Thus shalt thou do unto all the cities which are very far off from thee, which are not of the cities of these nations. 16 But of the cities of these people, which the Lord thy God doth give thee for an inheritance, thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth: 17 But thou shalt utterly destroy them; namely, the Hittites, and the Amorites, the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee: 18 That they teach you not to do after all their abominations, which they have done unto their gods; so should ye sin against the Lord your God. 19 When thou shalt besiege a city a long time, in making war against it to take it, thou shalt not destroy the trees thereof by forcing an axe against them: for thou mayest eat of them, and thou shalt not cut them down (for the tree of the field is man's life) to employ them in the siege: 20 Only the trees which thou knowest that they be not trees for meat, thou shalt destroy and cut them down; and thou shalt build bulwarks against the city that maketh war with thee, until it be subdued.

Salmos 107
1 Rendei graças ao SENHOR, porque ele é bom, e a sua misericórdia dura para sempre.
2 Digam-no os remidos do SENHOR, os que ele resgatou da mão do inimigo
3 e congregou de entre as terras, do Oriente e do Ocidente, do Norte e do mar.
4 Andaram errantes pelo deserto, por ermos caminhos, sem achar cidade em que habitassem.
5 Famintos e sedentos, desfalecia neles a alma.
6 Então, na sua angústia, clamaram ao SENHOR, e ele os livrou das suas tribulações.
7 Conduziu-os pelo caminho direito, para que fossem à cidade em que habitassem.
8 Rendam graças ao SENHOR por sua bondade e por suas maravilhas para com os filhos dos homens!
9 Pois dessedentou a alma sequiosa e fartou de bens a alma faminta.
10 Os que se assentaram nas trevas e nas sombras da morte, presos em aflição e em ferros,
11 por se terem rebelado contra a palavra de Deus e haverem desprezado o conselho do Altíssimo,
12 de modo que lhes abateu com trabalhos o coração – caíram, e não houve quem os socorresse.
13 Então, na sua angústia, clamaram ao SENHOR, e ele os livrou das suas tribulações.
14 Tirou-os das trevas e das sombras da morte e lhes despedaçou as cadeias.
15 Rendam graças ao SENHOR por sua bondade e por suas maravilhas para com os filhos dos homens!
16 Pois arrombou as portas de bronze e quebrou as trancas de ferro.
17 Os estultos, por causa do seu caminho de transgressão e por causa das suas iniquidades, serão afligidos.
18 A sua alma aborreceu toda sorte de comida, e chegaram às portas da morte.
19 Então, na sua angústia, clamaram ao SENHOR, e ele os livrou das suas tribulações.
20 Enviou-lhes a sua palavra, e os sarou, e os livrou do que lhes era mortal.
21 Rendam graças ao SENHOR por sua bondade e por suas maravilhas para com os filhos dos homens!
22 Ofereçam sacrifícios de ações de graças e proclamem com júbilo as suas obras!
23 Os que, tomando navios, descem aos mares, os que fazem tráfico na imensidade das águas,
24 esses vêem as obras do SENHOR e as suas maravilhas nas profundezas do abismo.
25 Pois ele falou e fez levantar o vento tempestuoso, que elevou as ondas do mar.
26 Subiram até aos céus, desceram até aos abismos; no meio destas angústias, desfalecia-lhes a alma.
27 Andaram, e cambalearam como ébrios, e perderam todo tino.
28 Então, na sua angústia, clamaram ao SENHOR, e ele os livrou das suas tribulações.
29 Fez cessar a tormenta, e as ondas se acalmaram.
30 Então, se alegraram com a bonança; e, assim, os levou ao desejado porto.
31 Rendam graças ao SENHOR por sua bondade e por suas maravilhas para com os filhos dos homens!
32 Exaltem-no também na assembléia do povo e o glorifiquem no conselho dos anciãos.
33 Ele converteu rios em desertos e mananciais, em terra seca;
34 terra frutífera, em deserto salgado, por causa da maldade dos seus habitantes.
35 Converteu o deserto em lençóis de água e a terra seca, em mananciais.
36 Estabeleceu aí os famintos, os quais edificaram uma cidade em que habitassem.
37 Semearam campos, e plantaram vinhas, e tiveram fartas colheitas.
38 Ele os abençoou, de sorte que se multiplicaram muito; e o gado deles não diminuiu.
39 Mas tornaram a reduzir-se e foram humilhados pela opressão, pela adversidade e pelo sofrimento.
40 Lança ele o desprezo sobre os príncipes e os faz andar errantes, onde não há caminho.
41 Mas levanta da opressão o necessitado, para um alto retiro, e lhe prospera famílias como rebanhos.
42 Os retos vêem isso e se alegram, mas o ímpio por toda parte fecha a boca.
43 Quem é sábio atente para essas coisas e considere as misericórdias do SENHOR.
107 O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy; 3 And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south. 4 They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in. 5 Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them. 6 Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses. 7 And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation. 8 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! 9 For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness. 10 Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron; 11 Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High: 12 Therefore he brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help. 13 Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses. 14 He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder. 15 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! 16 For he hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder. 17 Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted. 18 Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death. 19 Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses. 20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. 21 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! 22 And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing. 23 They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters; 24 These see the works of the Lord, and his wonders in the deep. 25 For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof. 26 They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble. 27 They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wit's end. 28 Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses. 29 He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still. 30 Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven. 31 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! 32 Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders. 33 He turneth rivers into a wilderness, and the watersprings into dry ground; 34 A fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein. 35 He turneth the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into watersprings. 36 And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation; 37 And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase. 38 He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and suffereth not their cattle to decrease. 39 Again, they are minished and brought low through oppression, affliction, and sorrow. 40 He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no way. 41 Yet setteth he the poor on high from affliction, and maketh him families like a flock. 42 The righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth. 43 Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the Lord.

Isaías 47
1 Desce e assenta-te no pó, ó virgem filha de Babilônia; assenta-te no chão, pois já não há trono, ó filha dos caldeus, porque nunca mais te chamarás a mimosa e delicada.
2 Toma a mó e mói a farinha; tira o teu véu, ergue a cauda da tua vestidura, desnuda as pernas e atravessa os rios.
3 As tuas vergonhas serão descobertas, e se verá o teu opróbrio; tomarei vingança e não pouparei a homem algum.
4 Quanto ao nosso Redentor, o SENHOR dos Exércitos é seu nome, o Santo de Israel.
5 Assenta-te calada e entra nas trevas, ó filha dos caldeus, porque nunca mais serás chamada senhora de reinos.
6 Muito me agastei contra o meu povo, profanei a minha herança e a entreguei na tua mão, porém não usaste com ela de misericórdia e até sobre os velhos fizeste mui pesado o teu jugo.
7 E disseste: Eu serei senhora para sempre! Até agora não tomaste a sério estas coisas, nem te lembraste do seu fim.
8 Ouve isto, pois, tu que és dada a prazeres, que habitas segura, que dizes contigo mesma: Eu só, e além de mim não há outra; não ficarei viúva, nem conhecerei a perda de filhos.
9 Mas ambas estas coisas virão sobre ti num momento, no mesmo dia, perda de filhos e viuvez; virão em cheio sobre ti, apesar da multidão das tuas feitiçarias e da abundância dos teus muitos encantamentos.
10 Porque confiaste na tua maldade e disseste: Não há quem me veja. A tua sabedoria e a tua ciência, isso te fez desviar, e disseste contigo mesma: Eu só, e além de mim não há outra.
11 Pelo que sobre ti virá o mal que por encantamentos não saberás conjurar; tal calamidade cairá sobre ti, da qual por expiação não te poderás livrar; porque sobre ti, de repente, virá tamanha desolação, como não imaginavas.
12 Deixa-te estar com os teus encantamentos e com a multidão das tuas feitiçarias em que te fatigaste desde a tua mocidade; talvez possas tirar proveito, talvez, com isso, inspirar terror.
13 Já estás cansada com a multidão das tuas consultas! Levantem-se, pois, agora, os que dissecam os céus e fitam os astros, os que em cada lua nova te predizem o que há de vir sobre ti.
14 Eis que serão como restolho, o fogo os queimará; não poderão livrar-se do poder das chamas; nenhuma brasa restará para se aquentarem, nem fogo, para que diante dele se assentem.
15 Assim serão para contigo aqueles com quem te fatigaste; aqueles com quem negociaste desde a tua mocidade; dispersar-se-ão, cambaleantes, cada qual pelo seu caminho; ninguém te salvará.

Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee. 14 Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it. 15 Thus shall they be unto thee with whom thou hast laboured, even thy merchants, from thy youth: they shall wander every one to his quarter; none shall save thee.

As injustiças incitam a injustiças ainda maiores, não havendo temor ao Senhor Deus, em tempo algum.De forma que, o que a maioria das pessoas buscam é estar confortáveis em seus próprios mundos, independente do que esteja havendo ao seu redor.Independente do que possam fazer para vencer o mal, com o bem.O bem que, aos seus olhos, é apenas, uma concepção de mundo.
Não o saberia o SENHOR o que ocorre debaixo dos céus e dentro destes corações?

Deuteronômio 19
1 Quando o SENHOR, teu Deus, eliminar as nações cuja terra te dará o SENHOR, teu Deus, e as desapossares e morares nas suas cidades e nas suas casas,
2 três cidades separarás no meio da tua terra que te dará o SENHOR, teu Deus, para a possuíres.
3 Preparar-te-ás o caminho e os limites da tua terra que te fará possuir o SENHOR, teu Deus, dividirás em três; e isto será para que nelas se acolha todo homicida.
4 Este é o caso tocante ao homicida que nelas se acolher, para que viva: aquele que, sem o querer, ferir o seu próximo, a quem não aborrecia dantes.
5 Assim, aquele que entrar com o seu próximo no bosque, para cortar lenha, e, manejando com impulso o machado para cortar a árvore, o ferro saltar do cabo e atingir o seu próximo, e este morrer, o tal se acolherá em uma destas cidades e viverá;
6 para que o vingador do sangue não persiga o homicida, quando se lhe enfurecer o coração, e o alcance, por ser comprido o caminho, e lhe tire a vida, porque não é culpado de morte, pois não o aborrecia dantes.
7 Portanto, te ordeno: três cidades separarás.
8 Se o SENHOR, teu Deus, dilatar os teus limites, como jurou a teus pais, e te der toda a terra que lhes prometeu,
9 desde que guardes todos estes mandamentos que hoje te ordeno, para cumpri-los, amando o SENHOR, teu Deus, e andando nos seus caminhos todos os dias, então, acrescentarás outras três cidades além destas três,
10 para que o sangue inocente se não derrame no meio da tua terra que o SENHOR, teu Deus, te dá por herança, pois haveria sangue sobre ti.
11 Mas, havendo alguém que aborrece a seu próximo, e lhe arma ciladas, e se levanta contra ele, e o fere de golpe mortal, e se acolhe em uma dessas cidades,
12 os anciãos da sua cidade enviarão a tirá-lo dali e a entregá-lo na mão do vingador do sangue, para que morra.
13 Não o olharás com piedade; antes, exterminarás de Israel a culpa do sangue inocente, para que te vá bem.
14 Não mudes os marcos do teu próximo, que os antigos fixaram na tua herança, na terra que o SENHOR, teu Deus, te dá para a possuíres.
15 Uma só testemunha não se levantará contra alguém por qualquer iniquidade ou por qualquer pecado, seja qual for que cometer; pelo depoimento de duas ou três testemunhas, se estabelecerá o fato.
16 Quando se levantar testemunha falsa contra alguém, para o acusar de algum transvio,
17 então, os dois homens que tiverem a demanda se apresentarão perante o SENHOR, diante dos sacerdotes e dos juízes que houver naqueles dias.
18 Os juízes indagarão bem; se a testemunha for falsa e tiver testemunhado falsamente contra seu irmão,
19 far-lhe-eis como cuidou fazer a seu irmão; e, assim, exterminarás o mal do meio de ti;
20 para que os que ficarem o ouçam, e temam, e nunca mais tornem a fazer semelhante mal no meio de ti.
21 Não o olharás com piedade: vida por vida, olho por olho, dente por dente, mão por mão, pé por pé.
19 When the Lord thy God hath cut off the nations, whose land the Lord thy God giveth thee, and thou succeedest them, and dwellest in their cities, and in their houses; 2 Thou shalt separate three cities for thee in the midst of thy land, which the Lord thy God giveth thee to possess it. 3 Thou shalt prepare thee a way, and divide the coasts of thy land, which the Lord thy God giveth thee to inherit, into three parts, that every slayer may flee thither. 4 And this is the case of the slayer, which shall flee thither, that he may live: Whoso killeth his neighbour ignorantly, whom he hated not in time past; 5 As when a man goeth into the wood with his neighbour to hew wood, and his hand fetcheth a stroke with the axe to cut down the tree, and the head slippeth from the helve, and lighteth upon his neighbour, that he die; he shall flee unto one of those cities, and live: 6 Lest the avenger of the blood pursue the slayer, while his heart is hot, and overtake him, because the way is long, and slay him; whereas he was not worthy of death, inasmuch as he hated him not in time past. 7 Wherefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt separate three cities for thee. 8 And if the Lord thy God enlarge thy coast, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, and give thee all the land which he promised to give unto thy fathers; 9 If thou shalt keep all these commandments to do them, which I command thee this day, to love the Lord thy God, and to walk ever in his ways; then shalt thou add three cities more for thee, beside these three: 10 That innocent blood be not shed in thy land, which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance, and so blood be upon thee. 11 But if any man hate his neighbour, and lie in wait for him, and rise up against him, and smite him mortally that he die, and fleeth into one of these cities: 12 Then the elders of his city shall send and fetch him thence, and deliver him into the hand of the avenger of blood, that he may die. 13 Thine eye shall not pity him, but thou shalt put away the guilt of innocent blood from Israel, that it may go well with thee. 14 Thou shalt not remove thy neighbour's landmark, which they of old time have set in thine inheritance, which thou shalt inherit in the land that the Lord thy God giveth thee to possess it. 15 One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established. 16 If a false witness rise up against any man to testify against him that which is wrong; 17 Then both the men, between whom the controversy is, shall stand before the Lord, before the priests and the judges, which shall be in those days; 18 And the judges shall make diligent inquisition: and, behold, if the witness be a false witness, and hath testified falsely against his brother; 19 Then shall ye do unto him, as he had thought to have done unto his brother: so shalt thou put the evil away from among you. 20 And those which remain shall hear, and fear, and shall henceforth commit no more any such evil among you. 21 And thine eye shall not pity; but life shall go for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.

1 Aleluia! Rendei graças ao SENHOR, porque ele é bom; porque a sua misericórdia dura para sempre.
2 Quem saberá contar os poderosos feitos do SENHOR ou anunciar os seus louvores?
3 Bem-aventurados os que guardam a retidão e o que pratica a justiça em todo tempo.
4 Lembra-te de mim, SENHOR, segundo a tua bondade para com o teu povo; visita-me com a tua salvação,
5 para que eu veja a prosperidade dos teus escolhidos, e me alegre com a alegria do teu povo, e me regozije com a tua herança.
6 Pecamos, como nossos pais; cometemos iniquidade, procedemos mal.
7 Nossos pais, no Egito, não atentaram às tuas maravilhas; não se lembraram da multidão das tuas misericórdias e foram rebeldes junto ao mar, o mar Vermelho.
8 Mas ele os salvou por amor do seu nome, para lhes fazer notório o seu poder.
9 Repreendeu o mar Vermelho, e ele secou; e fê-los passar pelos abismos, como por um deserto.
10 Salvou-os das mãos de quem os odiava e os remiu do poder do inimigo.
11 As águas cobriram os seus opressores; nem um deles escapou.
12 Então, creram nas suas palavras e lhe cantaram louvor.
13 Cedo, porém, se esqueceram das suas obras e não lhe aguardaram os desígnios;
14 entregaram-se à cobiça, no deserto; e tentaram a Deus na solidão.
15 Concedeu-lhes o que pediram, mas fez definhar-lhes a alma.
16 Tiveram inveja de Moisés, no acampamento, e de Arão, o santo do SENHOR.
17 Abriu-se a terra, e tragou a Datã, e cobriu o grupo de Abirão.
18 Ateou-se um fogo contra o seu grupo; a chama abrasou os ímpios.
19 Em Horebe, fizeram um bezerro e adoraram o ídolo fundido.
20 E, assim, trocaram a glória de Deus pelo simulacro de um novilho que come erva.
21 Esqueceram-se de Deus, seu Salvador, que, no Egito, fizera coisas portentosas,
22 maravilhas na terra de Cam, tremendos feitos no mar Vermelho.
23 Tê-los-ia exterminado, como dissera, se Moisés, seu escolhido, não se houvesse interposto, impedindo que sua cólera os destruísse.
24 Também desprezaram a terra aprazível e não deram crédito à sua palavra;
25 antes, murmuraram em suas tendas e não acudiram à voz do SENHOR.
26 Então, lhes jurou, de mão erguida, que os havia de arrasar no deserto;
27 e também derribaria entre as nações a sua descendência e os dispersaria por outras terras.
28 Também se juntaram a Baal-Peor e comeram os sacrifícios dos ídolos mortos.
29 Assim, com tais ações, o provocaram à ira; e grassou peste entre eles.
30 Então, se levantou Finéias e executou o juízo; e cessou a peste.
31 Isso lhe foi imputado por justiça, de geração em geração, para sempre.
32 Depois, o indignaram nas águas de Meribá, e, por causa deles, sucedeu mal a Moisés,
33 pois foram rebeldes ao Espírito de Deus, e Moisés falou irrefletidamente.
34 Não exterminaram os povos, como o SENHOR lhes ordenara.
35 Antes, se mesclaram com as nações e lhes aprenderam as obras;
36 deram culto a seus ídolos, os quais se lhes converteram em laço;
37 pois imolaram seus filhos e suas filhas aos demônios
38 e derramaram sangue inocente, o sangue de seus filhos e filhas, que sacrificaram aos ídolos de Canaã; e a terra foi contaminada com sangue.
39 Assim se contaminaram com as suas obras e se prostituíram nos seus feitos.
40 Acendeu-se, por isso, a ira do SENHOR contra o seu povo, e ele abominou a sua própria herança
41 e os entregou ao poder das nações; sobre eles dominaram os que os odiavam.
42 Também os oprimiram os seus inimigos, sob cujo poder foram subjugados.
43 Muitas vezes os libertou, mas eles o provocaram com os seus conselhos e, por sua iniquidade, foram abatidos.
44 Olhou-os, contudo, quando estavam angustiados e lhes ouviu o clamor;
45 lembrou-se, a favor deles, de sua aliança e se compadeceu, segundo a multidão de suas misericórdias.
46 Fez também que lograssem compaixão de todos os que os levaram cativos.
47 Salva-nos, SENHOR, nosso Deus, e congrega-nos de entre as nações, para que demos graças ao teu santo nome e nos gloriemos no teu louvor.
48 Bendito seja o SENHOR, Deus de Israel, de eternidade a eternidade; e todo o povo diga: Amém! Aleluia!
106 Praise ye the Lord. O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
2 Who can utter the mighty acts of the Lord? who can shew forth all his praise? 3 Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times. 4 Remember me, O Lord, with the favour that thou bearest unto thy people: O visit me with thy salvation; 5 That I may see the good of thy chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, that I may glory with thine inheritance. 6 We have sinned with our fathers, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly. 7 Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but provoked him at the sea, even at the Red sea. 8 Nevertheless he saved them for his name's sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known. 9 He rebuked the Red sea also, and it was dried up: so he led them through the depths, as through the wilderness. 10 And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy. 11 And the waters covered their enemies: there was not one of them left. 12 Then believed they his words; they sang his praise. 13 They soon forgat his works; they waited not for his counsel: 14 But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert. 15 And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul. 16 They envied Moses also in the camp, and Aaron the saint of the Lord. 17 The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan and covered the company of Abiram. 18 And a fire was kindled in their company; the flame burned up the wicked. 19 They made a calf in Horeb, and worshipped the molten image. 20 Thus they changed their glory into the similitude of an ox that eateth grass. 21 They forgat God their saviour, which had done great things in Egypt; 22 Wondrous works in the land of Ham, and terrible things by the Red sea. 23 Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them. 24 Yea, they despised the pleasant land, they believed not his word: 25 But murmured in their tents, and hearkened not unto the voice of the Lord. 26 Therefore he lifted up his hand against them, to overthrow them in the wilderness: 27 To overthrow their seed also among the nations, and to scatter them in the lands. 28 They joined themselves also unto Baalpeor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead. 29 Thus they provoked him to anger with their inventions: and the plague brake in upon them. 30 Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment: and so the plague was stayed. 31 And that was counted unto him for righteousness unto all generations for evermore. 32 They angered him also at the waters of strife, so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes: 33 Because they provoked his spirit, so that he spake unadvisedly with his lips. 34 They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the Lord commanded them: 35 But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works. 36 And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them. 37 Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils, 38 And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood. 39 Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions. 40 Therefore was the wrath of the Lord kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance. 41 And he gave them into the hand of the heathen; and they that hated them ruled over them. 42 Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their hand. 43 Many times did he deliver them; but they provoked him with their counsel, and were brought low for their iniquity. 44 Nevertheless he regarded their affliction, when he heard their cry: 45 And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies. 46 He made them also to be pitied of all those that carried them captives. 47 Save us, O Lord our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto thy holy name, and to triumph in thy praise. 48 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say, Amen. Isaías 46
1 Bel se encurva, Nebo se abaixa; os ídolos são postos sobre os animais, sobre as bestas; as cargas que costumáveis levar são canseira para as bestas já cansadas.
2 Esses deuses juntamente se abaixam e se encurvam, não podem salvar a carga; eles mesmos entram em cativeiro.
3 Ouvi-me, ó casa de Jacó e todo o restante da casa de Israel; vós, a quem desde o nascimento carrego e levo nos braços desde o ventre materno.
4 Até à vossa velhice, eu serei o mesmo e, ainda até às cãs, eu vos carregarei; já o tenho feito; levar-vos-ei, pois, carregar-vos-ei e vos salvarei.
5 A quem me comparareis para que eu lhe seja igual? E que coisa semelhante confrontareis comigo?
6 Os que gastam o ouro da bolsa e pesam a prata nas balanças assalariam o ourives para que faça um deus e diante deste se prostram e se inclinam.
7 Sobre os ombros o tomam, levam-no e o põem no seu lugar, e aí ele fica; do seu lugar não se move; recorrem a ele, mas nenhuma resposta ele dá e a ninguém livra da sua tribulação.
8 Lembrai-vos disto e tende ânimo; tomai-o a sério, ó prevaricadores.
9 Lembrai-vos das coisas passadas da antiguidade: que eu sou Deus, e não há outro, eu sou Deus, e não há outro semelhante a mim;
10 que desde o princípio anuncio o que há de acontecer e desde a antiguidade, as coisas que ainda não sucederam; que digo: o meu conselho permanecerá de pé, farei toda a minha vontade;
11 que chamo a ave de rapina desde o Oriente e de uma terra longínqua, o homem do meu conselho. Eu o disse, eu também o cumprirei; tomei este propósito, também o executarei.
12 Ouvi-me vós, os que sois de obstinado coração, que estais longe da justiça.
13 Faço chegar a minha justiça, e não está longe; a minha salvação não tardará; mas estabelecerei em Sião o livramento e em Israel, a minha glória.
46 Bel boweth down, Nebo stoopeth, their idols were upon the beasts, and upon the cattle: your carriages were heavy loaden; they are a burden to the weary beast. 2 They stoop, they bow down together; they could not deliver the burden, but themselves are gone into captivity. 3 Hearken unto me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, which are borne by me from the belly, which are carried from the womb: 4 And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you. 5 To whom will ye liken me, and make me equal, and compare me, that we may be like? 6 They lavish gold out of the bag, and weigh silver in the balance, and hire a goldsmith; and he maketh it a god: they fall down, yea, they worship. 7 They bear him upon the shoulder, they carry him, and set him in his place, and he standeth; from his place shall he not remove: yea, one shall cry unto him, yet can he not answer, nor save him out of his trouble. 8 Remember this, and shew yourselves men: bring it again to mind, O ye transgressors. 9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, 10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: 11 Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it. 12 Hearken unto me, ye stouthearted, that are far from righteousness: 13 I bring near my righteousness; it shall not be far off, and my salvation shall not tarry: and I will place salvation in Zion for Israel my glory.

O mundo exige de seus sobreviventes o espírito competitivo com muito dinamismo,independente do que for e para a causa que for, seja esta, nobre ou repugnante.
A recompensa deste mundo ofertada por ele ? Chamam-na de felicidade!.. E a verdade é que os pensamentos do Senhor Deus não estão nos pensamentos do mundo, tampouco, em conformidade com tais pensamentos e, condutas.
