LEITURA Bíblia Sagrada     Versão - João Ferreira de Almeida - 2ª edição PT-BR King James Version Gênesis 23 Mateus  22 Neemias 12 LEITURA  22º DIA  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Gênesis 23 1 Tendo Sara vivido cento e vinte e sete anos, 2 morreu em Quiriate-Arba, que é Hebrom, na terra de Canaã; veio Abraão lamentar Sara e chorar por ela. 3 Levantou-se, depois, Abraão da presença de sua morta e falou aos filhos de Hete: 4 Sou estrangeiro e morador entre vós; dai-me a posse de sepultura convosco, para que eu sepulte a minha morta. 5 Responderam os filhos de Hete a Abraão, dizendo: 6 Ouve-nos, senhor: tu és príncipe de Deus entre nós; sepulta numa das nossas melhores sepulturas a tua morta; nenhum de nós te vedará a sua sepultura, para sepultares a tua morta. 7 Então, se levantou Abraão e se inclinou diante do povo da terra, diante dos filhos de Hete. 8 E lhes falou, dizendo: Se é do vosso agrado que eu sepulte a minha morta, ouvi-me e intercedei por mim junto a Efrom, filho de Zoar, 9 para que ele me dê a caverna de Macpela, que tem no extremo do seu campo; que ma dê pelo devido preço em posse de sepultura entre vós. 10 Ora, Efrom, o heteu, sentando-se no meio dos filhos de Hete, respondeu a Abraão, ouvindo-o os filhos de Hete, a saber, todos os que entravam pela porta da sua cidade: 11 De modo nenhum, meu senhor; ouve-me: dou-te o campo e também a caverna que nele está; na presença dos filhos do meu povo te dou; sepulta a tua morta. 12 Então, se inclinou Abraão diante do povo da terra; 13 e falou a Efrom, na presença do povo da terra, dizendo: Mas, se concordas, ouve-me, peço-te: darei o preço do campo, toma-o de mim, e sepultarei ali a minha morta. 14 Respondeu-lhe Efrom: 15 Meu senhor, ouve-me: um terreno que vale quatrocentos siclos de prata, que é isso entre mim e ti? Sepulta ali a tua morta. 16 Tendo Abraão ouvido isso a Efrom, pesou-lhe a prata, de que este lhe falara diante dos filhos de Hete, quatrocentos siclos de prata, moeda corrente entre os mercadores. 17 Assim, o campo de Efrom, que estava em Macpela, fronteiro a Manre, o campo, a caverna e todo o arvoredo que nele havia, e todo o limite ao redor 18 se confirmaram por posse a Abraão, na presença dos filhos de Hete, de todos os que entravam pela porta da sua cidade. 19 Depois, sepultou Abraão a Sara, sua mulher, na caverna do campo de Macpela, fronteiro a Manre, que é Hebrom, na terra de Canaã. 20 E assim, pelos filhos de Hete, se confirmou a Abraão o direito do campo e da caverna que nele estava, em posse de sepultura. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  23 And Sarah was an hundred and seven and twenty years old: these were the years of the life of Sarah. 2 And Sarah died in Kirjatharba; the same is Hebron in the land of Canaan: and Abraham came to mourn for Sarah, and to weep for her. 3 And Abraham stood up from before his dead, and spake unto the sons of Heth, saying, 4 I am a stranger and a sojourner with you: give me a possession of a buryingplace with you, that I may bury my dead out of my sight. 5 And the children of Heth answered Abraham, saying unto him, 6 Hear us, my lord: thou art a mighty prince among us: in the choice of our sepulchres bury thy dead; none of us shall withhold from thee his sepulchre, but that thou mayest bury thy dead. 7 And Abraham stood up, and bowed himself to the people of the land, even to the children of Heth. 8 And he communed with them, saying, If it be your mind that I should bury my dead out of my sight; hear me, and intreat for me to Ephron the son of Zohar, 9 That he may give me the cave of Machpelah, which he hath, which is in the end of his field; for as much money as it is worth he shall give it me for a possession of a buryingplace amongst you. 10 And Ephron dwelt among the children of Heth: and Ephron the Hittite answered Abraham in the audience of the children of Heth, even of all that went in at the gate of his city, saying, 11 Nay, my lord, hear me: the field give I thee, and the cave that is therein, I give it thee; in the presence of the sons of my people give I it thee: bury thy dead. 12 And Abraham bowed down himself before the people of the land. 13 And he spake unto Ephron in the audience of the people of the land, saying, But if thou wilt give it, I pray thee, hear me: I will give thee money for the field; take it of me, and I will bury my dead there. 14 And Ephron answered Abraham, saying unto him, 15 My lord, hearken unto me: the land is worth four hundred shekels of silver; what is that betwixt me and thee? bury therefore thy dead. 16 And Abraham hearkened unto Ephron; and Abraham weighed to Ephron the silver, which he had named in the audience of the sons of Heth, four hundred shekels of silver, current money with the merchant. 17 And the field of Ephron which was in Machpelah, which was before Mamre, the field, and the cave which was therein, and all the trees that were in the field, that were in all the borders round about, were made sure 18 Unto Abraham for a possession in the presence of the children of Heth, before all that went in at the gate of his city. 19 And after this, Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field of Machpelah before Mamre: the same is Hebron in the land of Canaan. 20 And the field, and the cave that is therein, were made sure unto Abraham for a possession of a buryingplace by the sons of Heth. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Mateus 22 1 De novo, entrou Jesus a falar por parábolas, dizendo-lhes: 2 O reino dos céus é semelhante a um rei que celebrou as bodas de seu filho. 3 Então, enviou os seus servos a chamar os convidados para as bodas; mas estes não quiseram vir. 4 Enviou ainda outros servos, com esta ordem: Dizei aos convidados: Eis que já preparei o meu banquete; os meus bois e cevados já foram abatidos, e tudo está pronto; vinde para as bodas. 5 Eles, porém, não se importaram e se foram, um para o seu campo, outro para o seu negócio; 6 e os outros, agarrando os servos, os maltrataram e mataram. 7 O rei ficou irado e, enviando as suas tropas, exterminou aqueles assassinos e lhes incendiou a cidade. 8 Então, disse aos seus servos: Está pronta a festa, mas os convidados não eram dignos. 9 Ide, pois, para as encruzilhadas dos caminhos e convidai para as bodas a quantos encontrardes. 10 E, saindo aqueles servos pelas estradas, reuniram todos os que encontraram, maus e bons; e a sala do banquete ficou repleta de convidados. 11 Entrando, porém, o rei para ver os que estavam à mesa, notou ali um homem que não trazia veste nupcial 12 e perguntou-lhe: Amigo, como entraste aqui sem veste nupcial? E ele emudeceu. 13 Então, ordenou o rei aos serventes: Amarrai-o de pés e mãos e lançai-o para fora, nas trevas; ali haverá choro e ranger de dentes. 14 Porque muitos são chamados, mas poucos, escolhidos. 15 Então, retirando-se os fariseus, consultaram entre si como o surpreenderiam em alguma palavra. 16 E enviaram-lhe discípulos, juntamente com os herodianos, para dizer-lhe: Mestre, sabemos que és verdadeiro e que ensinas o caminho de Deus, de acordo com a verdade, sem te importares com quem quer que seja, porque não olhas a aparência dos homens. 17 Dize-nos, pois: que te parece? É lícito pagar tributo a César ou não? 18 Jesus, porém, conhecendo-lhes a malícia, respondeu: Por que me experimentais, hipócritas? 19 Mostrai-me a moeda do tributo. Trouxeram-lhe um denário. 20 E ele lhes perguntou: De quem é esta efígie e inscrição? 21 Responderam: De César. Então, lhes disse: Dai, pois, a César o que é de César e a Deus o que é de Deus. 22 Ouvindo isto, se admiraram e, deixando-o, foram-se. 23 Naquele dia, aproximaram-se dele alguns saduceus, que dizem não haver ressurreição, e lhe perguntaram: 24 Mestre, Moisés disse: Se alguém morrer, não tendo filhos, seu irmão casará com a viúva e suscitará descendência ao falecido. 25 Ora, havia entre nós sete irmãos. O primeiro, tendo casado, morreu e, não tendo descendência, deixou sua mulher a seu irmão; 26 o mesmo sucedeu com o segundo, com o terceiro, até ao sétimo; 27 depois de todos eles, morreu também a mulher. 28 Portanto, na ressurreição, de qual dos sete será ela esposa? Porque todos a desposaram. 29 Respondeu-lhes Jesus: Errais, não conhecendo as Escrituras nem o poder de Deus. 30 Porque, na ressurreição, nem casam, nem se dão em casamento; são, porém, como os anjos no céu. 31 E, quanto à ressurreição dos mortos, não tendes lido o que Deus vos declarou: 32 Eu sou o Deus de Abraão, o Deus de Isaque e o Deus de Jacó? Ele não é Deus de mortos, e sim de vivos. 33 Ouvindo isto, as multidões se maravilhavam da sua doutrina. 34 Entretanto, os fariseus, sabendo que ele fizera calar os saduceus, reuniram-se em conselho. 35 E um deles, intérprete da Lei, experimentando-o, lhe perguntou: 36 Mestre, qual é o grande mandamento na Lei? 37 Respondeu-lhe Jesus: Amarás o Senhor, teu Deus, de todo o teu coração, de toda a tua alma e de todo o teu entendimento. 38 Este é o grande e primeiro mandamento. 39 O segundo, semelhante a este, é: Amarás o teu próximo como a ti mesmo. 40 Destes dois mandamentos dependem toda a Lei e os Profetas. 41 Reunidos os fariseus, interrogou-os Jesus: 42 Que pensais vós do Cristo? De quem é filho? Responderam-lhe eles: De Davi. 43 Replicou-lhes Jesus: Como, pois, Davi, pelo Espírito, chama-lhe Senhor, dizendo: 44 Disse o Senhor ao meu Senhor: Assenta-te à minha direita, até que eu ponha os teus inimigos debaixo dos teus pés? 45 Se Davi, pois, lhe chama Senhor, como é ele seu filho? 46 E ninguém lhe podia responder palavra, nem ousou alguém, a partir daquele dia, fazer-lhe perguntas. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  22 And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said, 2 The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son, 3 And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come. 4 Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage. 5 But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise: 6 And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them. 7 But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city. 8 Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy. 9 Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage. 10 So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests. 11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment: 12 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. 13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 14 For many are called, but few are chosen. 15 Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk. 16 And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men. 17 Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not? 18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites? 19 Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny. 20 And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? 21 They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's. 22 When they had heard these words, they marvelled, and left him, and went their way. 23 The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him, 24 Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother. 25 Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother: 26 Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh. 27 And last of all the woman died also. 28 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her. 29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. 30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. 31 But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying, 32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living. 33 And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine. 34 But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together. 35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, 36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. 41 While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, 42 Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The son of David. 43 He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying, 44 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool? 45 If David then call him Lord, how is he his son? 46 And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Neemias 12 1 São estes os sacerdotes e levitas que subiram com Zorobabel, filho de Sealtiel, e com Jesua: Seraías, Jeremias, Esdras, 2 Amarias, Maluque, Hatus, 3 Secanias, Reum, Meremote, 4 Ido, Ginetoi, Abias, 5 Miamim, Maadias, Bilga, 6 Semaías, Joiaribe, Jedaías, 7 Salu, Amoque, Hilquias e Jedaías; estes foram os chefes dos sacerdotes e de seus irmãos, nos dias de Jesua. 8 Também os levitas Jesua, Binui, Cadmiel, Serebias, Judá e Matanias; este e seus irmãos dirigiam os louvores. 9 Baquebuquias e Uni, seus irmãos, estavam defronte deles, cada qual no seu mister. 10 Jesua gerou a Joiaquim, Joiaquim gerou a Eliasibe, Eliasibe gerou a Joiada, 11 Joiada gerou a Jônatas, e Jônatas gerou a Jadua. 12 Nos dias de Joiaquim, foram sacerdotes, cabeças de famílias: de Seraías, Meraías; de Jeremias, Hananias; 13 de Esdras, Mesulão; de Amarias, Joanã; 14 de Maluqui, Jônatas; de Sebanias, José; 15 de Harim, Adna; de Meraiote, Helcai; 16 de Ido, Zacarias; de Ginetom, Mesulão; 17 de Abias, Zicri; de Miniamim e de Moadias, Piltai; 18 de Bilga, Samua; de Semaías, Jônatas; 19 de Joiaribe, Matenai; de Jedaías, Uzi; 20 de Salai, Calai; de Amoque, Héber; 21 de Hilquias, Hasabias; de Jedaías, Netanel. 22 Dos levitas, nos dias de Eliasibe, foram inscritos como cabeças de famílias Joiada, Joanã e Jadua, como também os sacerdotes, até ao reinado de Dario, o persa. 23 Os filhos de Levi foram inscritos como cabeças de famílias no Livro das Crônicas, até aos dias de Joanã, filho de Eliasibe. 24 Foram, pois, chefes dos levitas: Hasabias, Serebias e Jesua, filho de Cadmiel; os irmãos deles lhes estavam fronteiros para louvarem e darem graças, segundo o mandado de Davi, homem de Deus, coro contra coro. 25 Matanias, Baquebuquias, Obadias, Mesulão, Talmom e Acube eram porteiros e faziam a guarda aos depósitos das portas. 26 Estes viveram nos dias de Joiaquim, filho de Jesua, filho de Jozadaque, e nos dias de Neemias, o governador, e de Esdras, o sacerdote e escriba. 27 Na dedicação dos muros de Jerusalém, procuraram aos levitas de todos os seus lugares, para fazê-los vir a fim de que fizessem a dedicação com alegria, louvores, canto, címbalos, alaúdes e harpas. 28 Ajuntaram-se os filhos dos cantores, tanto da campina dos arredores de Jerusalém como das aldeias dos netofatitas, 29 como também de Bete-Gilgal e dos campos de Geba e de Azmavete; porque os cantores tinham edificado para si aldeias nos arredores de Jerusalém. 30 Purificaram-se os sacerdotes e os levitas, que também purificaram o povo e as portas e o muro. 31 Então, fiz subir os príncipes de Judá sobre o muro e formei dois grandes coros em procissão, sendo um à mão direita sobre a muralha para o lado da Porta do Monturo. 32 Após eles, ia Hosaías e a metade dos príncipes de Judá, 33 Azarias, Esdras, Mesulão, 34 Judá, Benjamim, Semaías e Jeremias; 35 e dos filhos dos sacerdotes, com trombetas: Zacarias, filho de Jônatas, filho de Semaías, filho de Matanias, filho de Micaías, filho de Zacur, filho de Asafe, 36 e seus irmãos, Semaías, Azarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Netanel, Judá e Hanani, com os instrumentos músicos de Davi, homem de Deus; Esdras, o escriba, ia adiante deles. 37 À entrada da Porta da Fonte, subiram diretamente as escadas da Cidade de Davi, onde se eleva o muro por sobre a casa de Davi, até à Porta das Águas, do lado oriental. 38 O segundo coro ia em frente, e eu, após ele; metade do povo ia por cima do muro, desde a Torre dos Fornos até ao Muro Largo; 39 e desde a Porta de Efraim, passaram por cima da Porta Velha e da Porta do Peixe, pela Torre de Hananel, pela Torre dos Cem, até à Porta do Gado; e pararam à Porta da Guarda. 40 Então, ambos os coros pararam na Casa de Deus, como também eu e a metade dos magistrados comigo. 41 Os sacerdotes Eliaquim, Maaséias, Miniamim, Micaías, Elioenai, Zacarias e Hananias iam com trombetas, 42 como também Maaséias, Semaías, Eleazar, Uzi, Joanã, Malquias, Elão e Ezer; e faziam-se ouvir os cantores sob a direção de Jezraías. 43 No mesmo dia, ofereceram grandes sacrifícios e se alegraram; pois Deus os alegrara com grande alegria; também as mulheres e os meninos se alegraram, de modo que o júbilo de Jerusalém se ouviu até de longe. 44 Ainda no mesmo dia, se nomearam homens para as câmaras dos tesouros, das ofertas, das primícias e dos dízimos, para ajuntarem nelas, das cidades, as porções designadas pela Lei para os sacerdotes e para os levitas; pois Judá estava alegre, porque os sacerdotes e os levitas ministravam ali; 45 e executavam o serviço do seu Deus e o da purificação; como também os cantores e porteiros, segundo o mandado de Davi e de seu filho Salomão. 46 Pois já outrora, nos dias de Davi e de Asafe, havia chefes dos cantores, cânticos de louvor e ações de graças a Deus. 47 Todo o Israel, nos dias de Zorobabel e nos dias de Neemias, dava aos cantores e aos porteiros as porções de cada dia; e consagrava as coisas destinadas aos levitas, e os levitas, as destinadas aos filhos de Arão. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  12 Now these are the priests and the Levites that went up with Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua: Seraiah, Jeremiah, Ezra, 2 Amariah, Malluch, Hattush, 3 Shechaniah, Rehum, Meremoth, 4 Iddo, Ginnetho, Abijah, 5 Miamin, Maadiah, Bilgah, 6 Shemaiah, and Joiarib, Jedaiah, 7 Sallu, Amok, Hilkiah, Jedaiah. These were the chief of the priests and of their brethren in the days of Jeshua. 8 Moreover the Levites: Jeshua, Binnui, Kadmiel, Sherebiah, Judah, and Mattaniah, which was over the thanksgiving, he and his brethren. 9 Also Bakbukiah and Unni, their brethren, were over against them in the watches. 10 And Jeshua begat Joiakim, Joiakim also begat Eliashib, and Eliashib begat Joiada, 11 And Joiada begat Jonathan, and Jonathan begat Jaddua. 12 And in the days of Joiakim were priests, the chief of the fathers: of Seraiah, Meraiah; of Jeremiah, Hananiah; 13 Of Ezra, Meshullam; of Amariah, Jehohanan; 14 Of Melicu, Jonathan; of Shebaniah, Joseph; 15 Of Harim, Adna; of Meraioth, Helkai; 16 Of Iddo, Zechariah; of Ginnethon, Meshullam; 17 Of Abijah, Zichri; of Miniamin, of Moadiah, Piltai: 18 Of Bilgah, Shammua; of Shemaiah, Jehonathan; 19 And of Joiarib, Mattenai; of Jedaiah, Uzzi; 20 Of Sallai, Kallai; of Amok, Eber; 21 Of Hilkiah, Hashabiah; of Jedaiah, Nethaneel. 22 The Levites in the days of Eliashib, Joiada, and Johanan, and Jaddua, were recorded chief of the fathers: also the priests, to the reign of Darius the Persian. 23 The sons of Levi, the chief of the fathers, were written in the book of the chronicles, even until the days of Johanan the son of Eliashib. 24 And the chief of the Levites: Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua the son of Kadmiel, with their brethren over against them, to praise and to give thanks, according to the commandment of David the man of God, ward over against ward. 25 Mattaniah, and Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, Akkub, were porters keeping the ward at the thresholds of the gates. 26 These were in the days of Joiakim the son of Jeshua, the son of Jozadak, and in the days of Nehemiah the governor, and of Ezra the priest, the scribe. 27 And at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought the Levites out of all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem, to keep the dedication with gladness, both with thanksgivings, and with singing, with cymbals, psalteries, and with harps. 28 And the sons of the singers gathered themselves together, both out of the plain country round about Jerusalem, and from the villages of Netophathi; 29 Also from the house of Gilgal, and out of the fields of Geba and Azmaveth: for the singers had builded them villages round about Jerusalem. 30 And the priests and the Levites purified themselves, and purified the people, and the gates, and the wall. 31 Then I brought up the princes of Judah upon the wall, and appointed two great companies of them that gave thanks, whereof one went on the right hand upon the wall toward the dung gate: 32 And after them went Hoshaiah, and half of the princes of Judah, 33 And Azariah, Ezra, and Meshullam, 34 Judah, and Benjamin, and Shemaiah, and Jeremiah, 35 And certain of the priests' sons with trumpets; namely, Zechariah the son of Jonathan, the son of Shemaiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Michaiah, the son of Zaccur, the son of Asaph: 36 And his brethren, Shemaiah, and Azarael, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethaneel, and Judah, Hanani, with the musical instruments of David the man of God, and Ezra the scribe before them. 37 And at the fountain gate, which was over against them, they went up by the stairs of the city of David, at the going up of the wall, above the house of David, even unto the water gate eastward. 38 And the other company of them that gave thanks went over against them, and I after them, and the half of the people upon the wall, from beyond the tower of the furnaces even unto the broad wall; 39 And from above the gate of Ephraim, and above the old gate, and above the fish gate, and the tower of Hananeel, and the tower of Meah, even unto the sheep gate: and they stood still in the prison gate. 40 So stood the two companies of them that gave thanks in the house of God, and I, and the half of the rulers with me: 41 And the priests; Eliakim, Maaseiah, Miniamin, Michaiah, Elioenai, Zechariah, and Hananiah, with trumpets; 42 And Maaseiah, and Shemaiah, and Eleazar, and Uzzi, and Jehohanan, and Malchijah, and Elam, and Ezer. And the singers sang loud, with Jezrahiah their overseer. 43 Also that day they offered great sacrifices, and rejoiced: for God had made them rejoice with great joy: the wives also and the children rejoiced: so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard even afar off. 44 And at that time were some appointed over the chambers for the treasures, for the offerings, for the firstfruits, and for the tithes, to gather into them out of the fields of the cities the portions of the law for the priests and Levites: for Judah rejoiced for the priests and for the Levites that waited. 45 And both the singers and the porters kept the ward of their God, and the ward of the purification, according to the commandment of David, and of Solomon his son. 46 For in the days of David and Asaph of old there were chief of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving unto God. 47 And all Israel in the days of Zerubbabel, and in the days of Nehemiah, gave the portions of the singers and the porters, every day his portion: and they sanctified holy things unto the Levites; and the Levites sanctified them unto the children of Aaron. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦
