Não tem falado também por nós? O SENHOR o ouviu. 3 Era o varão Moisés mui manso, mais do que todos os homens que havia sobre a terra. 4 Logo o SENHOR disse a Moisés, e a Arão, e a Miriã: Vós três, saí à tenda da congregação. E saíram eles três. 5 Então, o SENHOR desceu na coluna de nuvem e se pôs à porta da tenda; depois, chamou a Arão e a Miriã, e eles se apresentaram. 6 Então, disse: Ouvi, agora, as minhas palavras; se entre vós há profeta, eu, o SENHOR, em visão a ele, me faço conhecer ou falo com ele em sonhos. 7 Não é assim com o meu servo Moisés, que é fiel em toda a minha casa. 8 Boca a boca falo com ele, claramente e não por enigmas; pois ele vê a forma do SENHOR; como, pois, não temestes falar contra o meu servo, contra Moisés? 9 E a ira do SENHOR contra eles se acendeu; e retirou-se. 10 A nuvem afastou-se de sobre a tenda; e eis que Miriã achou-se leprosa, branca como neve; e olhou Arão para Miriã, e eis que estava leprosa. 11 Então, disse Arão a Moisés: Ai! Senhor meu, não ponhas, te rogo, sobre nós este pecado, pois loucamente procedemos e pecamos. 12 Ora, não seja ela como um aborto, que, saindo do ventre de sua mãe, tenha metade de sua carne já consumida. 13 Moisés clamou ao SENHOR, dizendo: Ó Deus, rogo-te que a cures. 14 Respondeu o SENHOR a Moisés: Se seu pai lhe cuspira no rosto, não seria envergonhada por sete dias? Seja detida sete dias fora do arraial e, depois, recolhida. 15 Assim, Miriã foi detida fora do arraial por sete dias; e o povo não partiu enquanto Miriã não foi recolhida. 16 Porém, depois, o povo partiu de Hazerote e acampou-se no deserto de Parã. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  12 And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman. 2 And they said, Hath the Lord indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the Lord heard it. 3 (Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.) 4 And the Lord spake suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tabernacle of the congregation. And they three came out. 5 And the Lord came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam: and they both came forth. 6 And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the Lord will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream. 7 My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house. 8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the Lord shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses? 9 And the anger of the Lord was kindled against them; and he departed. 10 And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam became leprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous. 11 And Aaron said unto Moses, Alas, my lord, I beseech thee, lay not the sin upon us, wherein we have done foolishly, and wherein we have sinned. 12 Let her not be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he cometh out of his mother's womb. 13 And Moses cried unto the Lord, saying, Heal her now, O God, I beseech thee. 14 And the Lord said unto Moses, If her father had but spit in her face, should she not be ashamed seven days? let her be shut out from the camp seven days, and after that let her be received in again. 15 And Miriam was shut out from the camp seven days: and the people journeyed not till Miriam was brought in again. 16 And afterward the people removed from Hazeroth, and pitched in the wilderness of Paran. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Números 13 1 Disse o SENHOR a Moisés: 2 Envia homens que espiem a terra de Canaã, que eu hei de dar aos filhos de Israel; de cada tribo de seus pais enviareis um homem, sendo cada qual príncipe entre eles. 3 Enviou-os Moisés do deserto de Parã, segundo o mandado do SENHOR; todos aqueles homens eram cabeças dos filhos de Israel. 4 São estes os seus nomes: da tribo de Rúben, Samua, filho de Zacur; 5 da tribo de Simeão, Safate, filho de Hori; 6 da tribo de Judá, Calebe, filho de Jefoné; 7 da tribo de Issacar, Jigeal, filho de José; 8 da tribo de Efraim, Oséias, filho de Num; 9 da tribo de Benjamim, Palti, filho de Rafu; 10 da tribo de Zebulom, Gadiel, filho de Sodi; 11 da tribo de José, pela tribo de Manassés, Gadi, filho de Susi; 12 da tribo de Dã, Amiel, filho de Gemali; 13 da tribo de Aser, Setur, filho de Micael; 14 da tribo de Naftali, Nabi, filho de Vofsi; 15 da tribo de Gade, Geuel, filho de Maqui. 16 São estes os nomes dos homens que Moisés enviou a espiar aquela terra; e a Oséias, filho de Num, Moisés chamou Josué. 17 Enviou-os, pois, Moisés a espiar a terra de Canaã; e disse-lhes: Subi ao Neguebe e penetrai nas montanhas. 18 Vede a terra, que tal é, e o povo que nela habita, se é forte ou fraco, se poucos ou muitos. 19 E qual é a terra em que habita, se boa ou má; e que tais são as cidades em que habita, se em arraiais, se em fortalezas. 20 Também qual é a terra, se fértil ou estéril, se nela há matas ou não. Tende ânimo e trazei do fruto da terra. Eram aqueles dias os dias das primícias das uvas. 21 Assim, subiram e espiaram a terra desde o deserto de Zim até Reobe, à entrada de Hamate. 22 E subiram pelo Neguebe e vieram até Hebrom; estavam ali Aimã, Sesai e Talmai, filhos de Anaque (Hebrom foi edificada sete anos antes de Zoã, no Egito). 23 Depois, vieram até ao vale de Escol e dali cortaram um ramo de vide com um cacho de uvas, o qual trouxeram dois homens numa vara, como também romãs e figos. 24 Esse lugar se chamou o vale de Escol, por causa do cacho que ali cortaram os filhos de Israel. 25 Ao cabo de quarenta dias, voltaram de espiar a terra, 26 caminharam e vieram a Moisés, e a Arão, e a toda a congregação dos filhos de Israel no deserto de Parã, a Cades; deram-lhes conta, a eles e a toda a congregação, e mostraram-lhes o fruto da terra. 27 Relataram a Moisés e disseram: Fomos à terra a que nos enviaste; e, verdadeiramente, mana leite e mel; este é o fruto dela. 28 O povo, porém, que habita nessa terra é poderoso, e as cidades, mui grandes e fortificadas; também vimos ali os filhos de Anaque. 29 Os amalequitas habitam na terra do Neguebe; os heteus, os jebuseus e os amorreus habitam na montanha; os cananeus habitam ao pé do mar e pela ribeira do Jordão. 30 Então, Calebe fez calar o povo perante Moisés e disse: Eia! Subamos e possuamos a terra, porque, certamente, prevaleceremos contra ela. 31 Porém os homens que com ele tinham subido disseram: Não poderemos subir contra aquele povo, porque é mais forte do que nós. 32 E, diante dos filhos de Israel, infamaram a terra que haviam espiado, dizendo: A terra pelo meio da qual passamos a espiar é terra que devora os seus moradores; e todo o povo que vimos nela são homens de grande estatura. 33 Também vimos ali gigantes (os filhos de Anaque são descendentes de gigantes), e éramos, aos nossos próprios olhos, como gafanhotos e assim também o éramos aos seus olhos. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  13 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 2 Send thou men, that they may search the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel: of every tribe of their fathers shall ye send a man, every one a ruler among them. 3 And Moses by the commandment of the Lord sent them from the wilderness of Paran: all those men were heads of the children of Israel. 4 And these were their names: of the tribe of Reuben, Shammua the son of Zaccur. 5 Of the tribe of Simeon, Shaphat the son of Hori. 6 Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh. 7 Of the tribe of Issachar, Igal the son of Joseph. 8 Of the tribe of Ephraim, Oshea the son of Nun. 9 Of the tribe of Benjamin, Palti the son of Raphu. 10 Of the tribe of Zebulun, Gaddiel the son of Sodi. 11 Of the tribe of Joseph, namely, of the tribe of Manasseh, Gaddi the son of Susi. 12 Of the tribe of Dan, Ammiel the son of Gemalli. 13 Of the tribe of Asher, Sethur the son of Michael. 14 Of the tribe of Naphtali, Nahbi the son of Vophsi. 15 Of the tribe of Gad, Geuel the son of Machi. 16 These are the names of the men which Moses sent to spy out the land. And Moses called Oshea the son of Nun Jehoshua. 17 And Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said unto them, Get you up this way southward, and go up into the mountain: 18 And see the land, what it is, and the people that dwelleth therein, whether they be strong or weak, few or many; 19 And what the land is that they dwell in, whether it be good or bad; and what cities they be that they dwell in, whether in tents, or in strong holds; 20 And what the land is, whether it be fat or lean, whether there be wood therein, or not. And be ye of good courage, and bring of the fruit of the land. Now the time was the time of the firstripe grapes. 21 So they went up, and searched the land from the wilderness of Zin unto Rehob, as men come to Hamath. 22 And they ascended by the south, and came unto Hebron; where Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the children of Anak, were. (Now Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.) 23 And they came unto the brook of Eshcol, and cut down from thence a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they bare it between two upon a staff; and they brought of the pomegranates, and of the figs. 24 The place was called the brook Eshcol, because of the cluster of grapes which the children of Israel cut down from thence. 25 And they returned from searching of the land after forty days. 26 And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and shewed them the fruit of the land. 27 And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it. 28 Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there. 29 The Amalekites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan. 30 And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it. 31 But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we. 32 And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature. 33 And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Salmos 49 1 Povos todos, escutai isto; dai ouvidos, moradores todos da terra, 2 tanto plebeus como os de fina estirpe, todos juntamente, ricos e pobres. 3 Os meus lábios falarão sabedoria, e o meu coração terá pensamentos judiciosos. 4 Inclinarei os ouvidos a uma parábola, decifrarei o meu enigma ao som da harpa. 5 Por que hei de eu temer nos dias da tribulação, quando me salteia a iniqüidade dos que me perseguem, 6 dos que confiam nos seus bens e na sua muita riqueza se gloriam? 7 Ao irmão, verdadeiramente, ninguém o pode remir, nem pagar por ele a Deus o seu resgate 8 (Pois a redenção da alma deles é caríssima, e cessará a tentativa para sempre.), 9 para que continue a viver perpetuamente e não veja a cova; 10 porquanto vê-se morrerem os sábios e perecerem tanto o estulto como o inepto, os quais deixam a outros as suas riquezas. 11 O seu pensamento íntimo é que as suas casas serão perpétuas e, as suas moradas, para todas as gerações; chegam a dar seu próprio nome às suas terras. 12 Todavia, o homem não permanece em sua ostentação; é, antes, como os animais, que perecem. 13 Tal proceder é estultícia deles; assim mesmo os seus seguidores aplaudem o que eles dizem. 14 Como ovelhas são postos na sepultura; a morte é o seu pastor; eles descem diretamente para a cova, onde a sua formosura se consome; a sepultura é o lugar em que habitam. 15 Mas Deus remirá a minha alma do poder da morte, pois ele me tomará para si. 16 Não temas, quando alguém se enriquecer, quando avultar a glória de sua casa; 17 pois, em morrendo, nada levará consigo, a sua glória não o acompanhará. 18 Ainda que durante a vida ele se tenha lisonjeado, e ainda que o louvem quando faz o bem a si mesmo, 19 irá ter com a geração de seus pais, os quais já não verão a luz. 20 O homem, revestido de honrarias, mas sem entendimento, é, antes, como os animais, que perecem. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  49 Hear this, all ye people; give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world: 2 Both low and high, rich and poor, together. 3 My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding. 4 I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp. 5 Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about? 6 They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches; 7 None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him: 8 (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:) 9 That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption. 10 For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others. 11 Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names. 12 Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish. 13 This their way is their folly: yet their posterity approve their sayings.  14 Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling. 15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me.  16 Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased; 17 For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him. 18 Though while he lived he blessed his soul: and men will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself. 19 He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light. 20 Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Isaías 2 1 Palavra que, em visão, veio a Isaías, filho de Amoz, a respeito de Judá e Jerusalém. 2 Nos últimos dias, acontecerá que o monte da Casa do SENHOR será estabelecido no cimo dos montes e se elevará sobre os outeiros, e para ele afluirão todos os povos. 3 Irão muitas nações e dirão: Vinde, e subamos ao monte do SENHOR e à casa do Deus de Jacó, para que nos ensine os seus caminhos, e andemos pelas suas veredas; porque de Sião sairá a lei, e a palavra do SENHOR, de Jerusalém. 4 Ele julgará entre os povos e corrigirá muitas nações; estas converterão as suas espadas em relhas de arados e suas lanças, em podadeiras; uma nação não levantará a espada contra outra nação, nem aprenderão mais a guerra. 5 Vinde, ó casa de Jacó, e andemos na luz do SENHOR. 6 Pois, tu, SENHOR, desamparaste o teu povo, a casa de Jacó, porque os seus se encheram da corrupção do Oriente e são agoureiros como os filisteus e se associam com os filhos dos estranhos. 7 A sua terra está cheia de prata e de ouro, e não têm conta os seus tesouros; também está cheia de cavalos, e os seus carros não têm fim. 8 Também está cheia a sua terra de ídolos; adoram a obra das suas mãos, aquilo que os seus próprios dedos fizeram. 9 Com isso, a gente se abate, e o homem se avilta; portanto, não lhes perdoarás. 10 Vai, entra nas rochas e esconde-te no pó, ante o terror do SENHOR e a glória da sua majestade. 11 Os olhos altivos dos homens serão abatidos, e a sua altivez será humilhada; só o SENHOR será exaltado naquele dia. 12 Porque o Dia do SENHOR dos Exércitos será contra todo soberbo e altivo e contra todo aquele que se exalta, para que seja abatido; 13 contra todos os cedros do Líbano, altos, mui elevados; e contra todos os carvalhos de Basã; 14 contra todos os montes altos e contra todos os outeiros elevados; 15 contra toda torre alta e contra toda muralha firme; 16 contra todos os navios de Társis e contra tudo o que é belo à vista. 17 A arrogância do homem será abatida, e a sua altivez será humilhada; só o SENHOR será exaltado naquele dia. 18 Os ídolos serão de todo destruídos. 19 Então, os homens se meterão nas cavernas das rochas e nos buracos da terra, ante o terror do SENHOR e a glória da sua majestade, quando ele se levantar para espantar a terra. 20 Naquele dia, os homens lançarão às toupeiras e aos morcegos os seus ídolos de prata e os seus ídolos de ouro, que fizeram para ante eles se prostrarem, 21 e meter-se-ão pelas fendas das rochas e pelas cavernas das penhas, ante o terror do SENHOR e a glória da sua majestade, quando ele se levantar para espantar a terra. 22 Afastai-vos, pois, do homem cujo fôlego está no seu nariz. Pois em que é ele estimado? ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  2 The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. 2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. 3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. 4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. 5 O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the Lord. 6 Therefore thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Jacob, because they be replenished from the east, and are soothsayers like the Philistines, and they please themselves in the children of strangers. 7 Their land also is full of silver and gold, neither is there any end of their treasures; their land is also full of horses, neither is there any end of their chariots: 8 Their land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made: 9 And the mean man boweth down, and the great man humbleth himself: therefore forgive them not. 10 Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, for fear of the Lord, and for the glory of his majesty. 11 The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day. 12 For the day of the Lord of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low: 13 And upon all the cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up, and upon all the oaks of Bashan, 14 And upon all the high mountains, and upon all the hills that are lifted up, 15 And upon every high tower, and upon every fenced wall, 16 And upon all the ships of Tarshish, and upon all pleasant pictures. 17 And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day. 18 And the idols he shall utterly abolish. 19 And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the Lord, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth. 20 In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made each one for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats; 21 To go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the tops of the ragged rocks, for fear of the Lord, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth. 22 Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of ? ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦
