LEITURA Bíblia Sagrada Versão - João Ferreira de Almeida - 2ª edição PT-BR King James Version      Números 17 Números 18 Salmos 55  Isaías 7 LEITURA  9º DIA  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Números 17 1 Disse o SENHOR a Moisés: 2 Fala aos filhos de Israel e recebe deles bordões, um pela casa de cada pai de todos os seus príncipes, segundo as casas de seus pais, isto é, doze bordões; escreve o nome de cada um sobre o seu bordão. 3 Porém o nome de Arão escreverás sobre o bordão de Levi; porque cada cabeça da casa de seus pais terá um bordão. 4 E os porás na tenda da congregação, perante o Testemunho, onde eu vos encontrarei. 5 O bordão do homem que eu escolher, esse florescerá; assim, farei cessar de sobre mim as murmurações que os filhos de Israel proferem contra vós. 6 Falou, pois, Moisés aos filhos de Israel, e todos os seus príncipes lhe deram bordões; cada um lhe deu um, segundo as casas de seus pais: doze bordões; e, entre eles, o bordão de Arão. 7 Moisés pôs estes bordões perante o SENHOR, na tenda do Testemunho. 8 No dia seguinte, Moisés entrou na tenda do Testemunho, e eis que o bordão de Arão, pela casa de Levi, brotara, e, tendo inchado os gomos, produzira flores, e dava amêndoas. 9 Então, Moisés trouxe todos os bordões de diante do SENHOR a todos os filhos de Israel; e eles o viram, e tomou cada um o seu bordão. 10 Disse o SENHOR a Moisés: Torna a pôr o bordão de Arão perante o Testemunho, para que se guarde por sinal para filhos rebeldes; assim farás acabar as suas murmurações contra mim, para que não morram. 11 E Moisés fez assim; como lhe ordenara o SENHOR, assim fez. 12 Então, falaram os filhos de Israel a Moisés, dizendo: Eis que expiramos, perecemos, perecemos todos. 13 Todo aquele que se aproximar do tabernáculo do SENHOR morrerá; acaso, expiraremos todos? ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  17 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and take of every one of them a rod according to the house of their fathers, of all their princes according to the house of their fathers twelve rods: write thou every man's name upon his rod. 3 And thou shalt write Aaron's name upon the rod of Levi: for one rod shall be for the head of the house of their fathers. 4 And thou shalt lay them up in the tabernacle of the congregation before the testimony, where I will meet with you. 5 And it shall come to pass, that the man's rod, whom I shall choose, shall blossom: and I will make to cease from me the murmurings of the children of Israel, whereby they murmur against you. 6 And Moses spake unto the children of Israel, and every one of their princes gave him a rod apiece, for each prince one, according to their fathers' houses, even twelve rods: and the rod of Aaron was among their rods. 7 And Moses laid up the rods before the Lord in the tabernacle of witness. 8 And it came to pass, that on the morrow Moses went into the tabernacle of witness; and, behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi was budded, and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms, and yielded almonds. 9 And Moses brought out all the rods from before the Lord unto all the children of Israel: and they looked, and took every man his rod. 10 And the Lord said unto Moses, Bring Aaron's rod again before the testimony, to be kept for a token against the rebels; and thou shalt quite take away their murmurings from me, that they die not. 11 And Moses did so: as the Lord commanded him, so did he. 12 And the children of Israel spake unto Moses, saying, Behold, we die, we perish, we all perish. 13 Whosoever cometh any thing near unto the tabernacle of the Lord shall die: shall we be consumed with dying? ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Números 18 1 Disse o SENHOR a Arão: Tu, e teus filhos, e a casa de teu pai contigo levareis sobre vós a iniqüidade relativamente ao santuário; tu e teus filhos contigo levareis sobre vós a iniqüidade relativamente ao vosso sacerdócio. 2 Também farás chegar contigo a teus irmãos, a tribo de Levi, a tribo de teu pai, para que se ajuntem a ti e te sirvam, quando tu e teus filhos contigo estiverdes perante a tenda do Testemunho. 3 Farão o serviço que lhes é devido para contigo e para com a tenda; porém não se aproximarão dos utensílios do santuário, nem do altar, para que não morram, nem eles, nem vós. 4 Ajuntar-se-ão a ti e farão todo o serviço da tenda da congregação; o estranho, porém, não se chegará a vós outros. 5 Vós, pois, fareis o serviço do santuário e o do altar, para que não haja outra vez ira contra os filhos de Israel. 6 Eu, eis que tomei vossos irmãos, os levitas, do meio dos filhos de Israel; são dados a vós outros para o SENHOR, para servir na tenda da congregação. 7 Mas tu e teus filhos contigo atendereis ao vosso sacerdócio em tudo concernente ao altar, e ao que estiver para dentro do véu, isto é vosso serviço; eu vos tenho entregue o vosso sacerdócio por ofício como dádiva; porém o estranho que se aproximar morrerá. 8 Disse mais o SENHOR a Arão: Eis que eu te dei o que foi separado das minhas ofertas, com todas as coisas consagradas dos filhos de Israel; dei-as por direito perpétuo como porção a ti e a teus filhos. 9 Isto terás das coisas santíssimas, não dadas ao fogo: todas as suas ofertas, com todas as suas ofertas de manjares, e com todas as suas ofertas pelo pecado, e com todas as suas ofertas pela culpa, que me apresentarem, serão coisas santíssimas para ti e para teus filhos. 10 No lugar santíssimo, o comerás; todo homem o comerá; ser-te-á santo. 11 Também isto será teu: a oferta das suas dádivas com todas as ofertas movidas dos filhos de Israel; a ti, a teus filhos e a tuas filhas contigo, dei-as por direito perpétuo; todo o que estiver limpo na tua casa as comerá. 12 Todo o melhor do azeite, do mosto e dos cereais, as suas primícias que derem ao SENHOR, dei-as a ti. 13 Os primeiros frutos de tudo que houver na terra, que trouxerem ao SENHOR, serão teus; todo o que estiver limpo na tua casa os comerá. 14 Toda coisa consagrada irremissivelmente em Israel será tua. 15 Todo o que abrir a madre, de todo ser vivente, que trouxerem ao SENHOR, tanto de homens como de animais, será teu; porém os primogênitos dos homens resgatarás; também os primogênitos dos animais imundos resgatarás. 16 O resgate, pois (desde a idade de um mês os resgatarás), será segundo a tua avaliação, por cinco siclos de dinheiro, segundo o siclo do santuário, que é de vinte geras. 17 Mas o primogênito do gado, ou primogênito de ovelhas, ou primogênito de cabra não resgatarás; são santos; o seu sangue aspergirás sobre o altar e a sua gordura queimarás em oferta queimada de aroma agradável ao SENHOR. 18 A carne deles será tua, assim como será teu o peito movido e a coxa direita. 19 Todas as ofertas sagradas, que os filhos de Israel oferecerem ao SENHOR, dei-as a ti, e a teus filhos, e a tuas filhas contigo, por direito perpétuo; aliança perpétua de sal perante o SENHOR é esta, para ti e para tua descendência contigo. 20 Disse também o SENHOR a Arão: Na sua terra, herança nenhuma terás e, no meio deles, nenhuma porção terás. Eu sou a tua porção e a tua herança no meio dos filhos de Israel. 21 Aos filhos de Levi dei todos os dízimos em Israel por herança, pelo serviço que prestam, serviço da tenda da congregação. 22 E nunca mais os filhos de Israel se chegarão à tenda da congregação, para que não levem sobre si o pecado e morram. 23 Mas os levitas farão o serviço da tenda da congregação e responderão por suas faltas; estatuto perpétuo é este para todas as vossas gerações. E não terão eles nenhuma herança no meio dos filhos de Israel. 24 Porque os dízimos dos filhos de Israel, que apresentam ao SENHOR em oferta, dei-os por herança aos levitas; porquanto eu lhes disse: No meio dos filhos de Israel, nenhuma herança tereis. 25 Disse o SENHOR a Moisés: 26 Também falarás aos levitas e lhes dirás: Quando receberdes os dízimos da parte dos filhos de Israel, que vos dei por vossa herança, deles apresentareis uma oferta ao SENHOR: o dízimo dos dízimos. 27 Atribuir-se-vos-á a vossa oferta como se fosse cereal da eira e plenitude do lagar. 28 Assim, também apresentareis ao SENHOR uma oferta de todos os vossos dízimos que receberdes dos filhos de Israel e deles dareis a oferta do SENHOR a Arão, o sacerdote. 29 De todas as vossas dádivas apresentareis toda oferta do SENHOR: do melhor delas, a parte que lhe é sagrada. 30 Portanto, lhes dirás: Quando oferecerdes o melhor que há nos dízimos, o restante destes, como se fosse produto da eira e produto do lagar, se contará aos levitas. 31 Comê-lo-eis em todo lugar, vós e a vossa casa, porque é vossa recompensa pelo vosso serviço na tenda da congregação. 32 Pelo que não levareis sobre vós o pecado, quando deles oferecerdes o melhor; e não profanareis as coisas sagradas dos filhos de Israel, para que não morrais. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  18 And the Lord said unto Aaron, Thou and thy sons and thy father's house with thee shall bear the iniquity of the sanctuary: and thou and thy sons with thee shall bear the iniquity of your priesthood. 2 And thy brethren also of the tribe of Levi, the tribe of thy father, bring thou with thee, that they may be joined unto thee, and minister unto thee: but thou and thy sons with thee shall minister before the tabernacle of witness. 3 And they shall keep thy charge, and the charge of all the tabernacle: only they shall not come nigh the vessels of the sanctuary and the altar, that neither they, nor ye also, die. 4 And they shall be joined unto thee, and keep the charge of the tabernacle of the congregation, for all the service of the tabernacle: and a stranger shall not come nigh unto you. 5 And ye shall keep the charge of the sanctuary, and the charge of the altar: that there be no wrath any more upon the children of Israel. 6 And I, behold, I have taken your brethren the Levites from among the children of Israel: to you they are given as a gift for the Lord, to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation. 7 Therefore thou and thy sons with thee shall keep your priest's office for everything of the altar, and within the vail; and ye shall serve: I have given your priest's office unto you as a service of gift: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death. 8 And the Lord spake unto Aaron, Behold, I also have given thee the charge of mine heave offerings of all the hallowed things of the children of Israel; unto thee have I given them by reason of the anointing, and to thy sons, by an ordinance for ever. 9 This shall be thine of the most holy things, reserved from the fire: every oblation of their's, every meat offering of their's, and every sin offering of their's, and every trespass offering of their's which they shall render unto me, shall be most holy for thee and for thy sons. 10 In the most holy place shalt thou eat it; every male shall eat it: it shall be holy unto thee. 11 And this is thine; the heave offering of their gift, with all the wave offerings of the children of Israel: I have given them unto thee, and to thy sons and to thy daughters with thee, by a statute for ever: every one that is clean in thy house shall eat of it. 12 All the best of the oil, and all the best of the wine, and of the wheat, the firstfruits of them which they shall offer unto the Lord, them have I given thee. 13 And whatsoever is first ripe in the land, which they shall bring unto the Lord, shall be thine; every one that is clean in thine house shall eat of it. 14 Every thing devoted in Israel shall be thine. 15 Every thing that openeth the matrix in all flesh, which they bring unto the Lord, whether it be of men or beasts, shall be thine: nevertheless the firstborn of man shalt thou surely redeem, and the firstling of unclean beasts shalt thou redeem. 16 And those that are to be redeemed from a month old shalt thou redeem, according to thine estimation, for the money of five shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary, which is twenty gerahs. 17 But the firstling of a cow, or the firstling of a sheep, or the firstling of a goat, thou shalt not redeem; they are holy: thou shalt sprinkle their blood upon the altar, and shalt burn their fat for an offering made by fire, for a sweet savour unto the Lord. 18 And the flesh of them shall be thine, as the wave breast and as the right shoulder are thine. 19 All the heave offerings of the holy things, which the children of Israel offer unto the Lord, have I given thee, and thy sons and thy daughters with thee, by a statute for ever: it is a covenant of salt for ever before the Lord unto thee and to thy seed with thee. 20 And the Lord spake unto Aaron, Thou shalt have no inheritance in their land, neither shalt thou have any part among them: I am thy part and thine inheritance among the children of Israel. 21 And, behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation. 22 Neither must the children of Israel henceforth come nigh the tabernacle of the congregation, lest they bear sin, and die. 23 But the Levites shall do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they shall bear their iniquity: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations, that among the children of Israel they have no inheritance. 24 But the tithes of the children of Israel, which they offer as an heave offering unto the Lord, I have given to the Levites to inherit: therefore I have said unto them, Among the children of Israel they shall have no inheritance. 25 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 26 Thus speak unto the Levites, and say unto them, When ye take of the children of Israel the tithes which I have given you from them for your inheritance, then ye shall offer up an heave offering of it for the Lord, even a tenth part of the tithe. 27 And this your heave offering shall be reckoned unto you, as though it were the corn of the threshingfloor, and as the fulness of the winepress. 28 Thus ye also shall offer an heave offering unto the Lord of all your tithes, which ye receive of the children of Israel; and ye shall give thereof the Lord'S heave offering to Aaron the priest. 29 Out of all your gifts ye shall offer every heave offering of the Lord, of all the best thereof, even the hallowed part thereof out of it. 30 Therefore thou shalt say unto them, When ye have heaved the best thereof from it, then it shall be counted unto the Levites as the increase of the threshingfloor, and as the increase of the winepress. 31 And ye shall eat it in every place, ye and your households: for it is your reward for your service in the tabernacle of the congregation. 32 And ye shall bear no sin by reason of it, when ye have heaved from it the best of it: neither shall ye pollute the holy things of the children of Israel, lest ye die.  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Salmos 55 1 Dá ouvidos, ó Deus, à minha oração; não te escondas da minha súplica. 2 Atende-me e responde-me; sinto-me perplexo em minha queixa e ando perturbado, 3 por causa do clamor do inimigo e da opressão do ímpio; pois sobre mim lançam calamidade e furiosamente me hostilizam. 4 Estremece-me no peito o coração, terrores de morte me salteiam; 5 temor e tremor me sobrevêm, e o horror se apodera de mim. 6 Então, disse eu: quem me dera asas como de pomba! Voaria e acharia pouso. 7 Eis que fugiria para longe e ficaria no deserto. 8 Dar-me-ia pressa em abrigar-me do vendaval e da procela. 9 Destrói, Senhor, e confunde os seus conselhos, porque vejo violência e contenda na cidade. 10 Dia e noite giram nas suas muralhas, e, muros a dentro, campeia a perversidade e a malícia; 11 há destruição no meio dela; das suas praças não se apartam a opressão e o engano. 12 Com efeito, não é inimigo que me afronta; se o fosse, eu o suportaria; nem é o que me odeia quem se exalta contra mim, pois dele eu me esconderia; 13 mas és tu, homem meu igual, meu companheiro e meu íntimo amigo. 14 Juntos andávamos, juntos nos entretínhamos e íamos com a multidão à Casa de Deus. 15 A morte os assalte, e vivos desçam à cova! Porque há maldade nas suas moradas e no seu íntimo. 16 Eu, porém, invocarei a Deus, e o SENHOR me salvará. 17 À tarde, pela manhã e ao meio-dia, farei as minhas queixas e lamentarei; e ele ouvirá a minha voz. 18 Livra-me a alma, em paz, dos que me perseguem; pois são muitos contra mim. 19 Deus ouvirá e lhes responderá, ele, que preside desde a eternidade, porque não há neles mudança nenhuma, e não temem a Deus. 20 Tal homem estendeu as mãos contra os que tinham paz com ele; corrompeu a sua aliança. 21 A sua boca era mais macia que a manteiga, porém no coração havia guerra; as suas palavras eram mais brandas que o azeite; contudo, eram espadas desembainhadas. 22 Confia os teus cuidados ao SENHOR, e ele te susterá; jamais permitirá que o justo seja abalado. 23 Tu, porém, ó Deus, os precipitarás à cova profunda; homens sanguinários e fraudulentos não chegarão à metade dos seus dias; eu, todavia, confiarei em ti. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  55 Give ear to my prayer, O God; and hide not thyself from my supplication. 2 Attend unto me, and hear me: I mourn in my complaint, and make a noise; 3 Because of the voice of the enemy, because of the oppression of the wicked: for they cast iniquity upon me, and in wrath they hate me. 4 My heart is sore pained within me: and the terrors of death are fallen upon me. 5 Fearfulness and trembling are come upon me, and horror hath overwhelmed me. 6 And I said, Oh that I had wings like a dove! for then would I fly away, and be at rest. 7 Lo, then would I wander far off, and remain in the wilderness.  8 I would hasten my escape from the windy storm and tempest. 9 Destroy, O Lord, and divide their tongues: for I have seen violence and strife in the city. 10 Day and night they go about it upon the walls thereof: mischief also and sorrow are in the midst of it. 11 Wickedness is in the midst thereof: deceit and guile depart not from her streets. 12 For it was not an enemy that reproached me; then I could have borne it: neither was it he that hated me that did magnify himself against me; then I would have hid myself from him: 13 But it was thou, a man mine equal, my guide, and mine acquaintance. 14 We took sweet counsel together, and walked unto the house of God in company. 15 Let death seize upon them, and let them go down quick into hell: for wickedness is in their dwellings, and among them. 16 As for me, I will call upon God; and the Lord shall save me. 17 Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice. 18 He hath delivered my soul in peace from the battle that was against me: for there were many with me. 19 God shall hear, and afflict them, even he that abideth of old. Selah. Because they have no changes, therefore they fear not God. 20 He hath put forth his hands against such as be at peace with him: he hath broken his covenant. 21 The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart: his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords. 22 Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. 23 But thou, O God, shalt bring them down into the pit of destruction: bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; but I will trust in thee.  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Isaías 7 1 Sucedeu nos dias de Acaz, filho de Jotão, filho de Uzias, rei de Judá, que Rezim, rei da Síria, e Peca, filho de Remalias, rei de Israel, subiram a Jerusalém, para pelejarem contra ela, porém não prevaleceram contra ela. 2 Deu-se aviso à casa de Davi: A Síria está aliada com Efraim. Então, ficou agitado o coração de Acaz e o coração do seu povo, como se agitam as árvores do bosque com o vento. 3 Disse o SENHOR a Isaías: Agora, sai tu com teu filho, que se chama Um-Resto-Volverá, ao encontro de Acaz, que está na outra extremidade do aqueduto do açude superior, junto ao caminho do campo do lavadeiro, 4 e dize-lhe: Acautela-te e aquieta-te; não temas, nem se desanime o teu coração por causa destes dois tocos de tições fumegantes; por causa do ardor da ira de Rezim, e da Síria, e do filho de Remalias. 5 Porquanto a Síria resolveu fazer-te mal, bem como Efraim e o filho de Remalias, dizendo: 6 Subamos contra Judá, e amedrontemo-lo, e o conquistemos para nós, e façamos reinar no meio dele o filho de Tabeal. 7 Assim diz o SENHOR Deus: Isto não subsistirá, nem tampouco acontecerá. 8 Mas a capital da Síria será Damasco, e o cabeça de Damasco, Rezim, e dentro de sessenta e cinco anos Efraim será destruído e deixará de ser povo. 9 Entretanto, a capital de Efraim será Samaria, e o cabeça de Samaria, o filho de Remalias; se o não crerdes, certamente, não permanecereis. 10 E continuou o SENHOR a falar com Acaz, dizendo: 11 Pede ao SENHOR, teu Deus, um sinal, quer seja embaixo, nas profundezas, ou em cima, nas alturas. 12 Acaz, porém, disse: Não o pedirei, nem tentarei ao SENHOR. 13 Então, disse o profeta: Ouvi, agora, ó casa de Davi: acaso, não vos basta fatigardes os homens, mas ainda fatigais também ao meu Deus? 14 Portanto, o Senhor mesmo vos dará um sinal: eis que a virgem conceberá e dará à luz um filho e lhe chamará Emanuel. 15 Ele comerá manteiga e mel quando souber desprezar o mal e escolher o bem. 16 Na verdade, antes que este menino saiba desprezar o mal e escolher o bem, será desamparada a terra ante cujos dois reis tu tremes de medo. 17 Mas o SENHOR fará vir sobre ti, sobre o teu povo e sobre a casa de teu pai, por intermédio do rei da Assíria, dias tais, quais nunca vieram, desde o dia em que Efraim se separou de Judá. 18 Porque há de acontecer que, naquele dia, assobiará o SENHOR às moscas que há no extremo dos rios do Egito e às abelhas que andam na terra da Assíria; 19 elas virão e pousarão todas nos vales profundos, nas fendas das rochas, em todos os espinhos e em todos os pastios. 20 Naquele dia, rapar-te-á o Senhor com uma navalha alugada doutro lado do rio, a saber, por meio do rei da Assíria, a cabeça e os cabelos das vergonhas e tirará também a barba. 21 Naquele dia, sucederá que um homem manterá apenas uma vaca nova e duas ovelhas, 22 e será tal a abundância de leite que elas lhe darão, que comerá manteiga; manteiga e mel comerá todo o restante no meio da terra. 23 Também, naquele dia, todo lugar em que houver mil vides, do valor de mil siclos de prata, será para espinheiros e abrolhos. 24 Com flechas e arco se entrará aí, porque os espinheiros e abrolhos cobrirão toda a terra. 25 Quanto a todos os montes, que os homens costumam sachar, para ali não irás por temeres os espinhos e abrolhos; serão para pasto de bois e para serem pisados de ovelhas. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  7 And it came to pass in the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, that Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up toward Jerusalem to war against it, but could not prevail against it. 2 And it was told the house of David, saying, Syria is confederate with Ephraim. And his heart was moved, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the wood are moved with the wind. 3 Then said the Lord unto Isaiah, Go forth now to meet Ahaz, thou, and Shearjashub thy son, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool in the highway of the fuller's field; 4 And say unto him, Take heed, and be quiet; fear not, neither be fainthearted for the two tails of these smoking firebrands, for the fierce anger of Rezin with Syria, and of the son of Remaliah. 5 Because Syria, Ephraim, and the son of Remaliah, have taken evil counsel against thee, saying, 6 Let us go up against Judah, and vex it, and let us make a breach therein for us, and set a king in the midst of it, even the son of Tabeal: 7 Thus saith the Lord God, It shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass. 8 For the head of Syria is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin; and within threescore and five years shall Ephraim be broken, that it be not a people. 9 And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah's son. If ye will not believe, surely ye shall not be established. 10 Moreover the Lord spake again unto Ahaz, saying, 11 Ask thee a sign of the Lord thy God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above. 12 But Ahaz said, I will not ask, neither will I tempt the Lord. 13 And he said, Hear ye now, O house of David; Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will ye weary my God also? 14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. 15 Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good. 16 For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of both her kings. 17 The Lord shall bring upon thee, and upon thy people, and upon thy father's house, days that have not come, from the day that Ephraim departed from Judah; even the king of Assyria. 18 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall hiss for the fly that is in the uttermost part of the rivers of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria. 19 And they shall come, and shall rest all of them in the desolate valleys, and in the holes of the rocks, and upon all thorns, and upon all bushes. 20 In the same day shall the Lord shave with a razor that is hired, namely, by them beyond the river, by the king of Assyria, the head, and the hair of the feet: and it shall also consume the beard. 21 And it shall come to pass in that day, that a man shall nourish a young cow, and two sheep; 22 And it shall come to pass, for the abundance of milk that they shall give he shall eat butter: for butter and honey shall every one eat that is left in the land. 23 And it shall come to pass in that day, that every place shall be, where there were a thousand vines at a thousand silverlings, it shall even be for briers and thorns. 24 With arrows and with bows shall men come thither; because all the land shall become briers and thorns. 25 And on all hills that shall be digged with the mattock, there shall not come thither the fear of briers and thorns: but it shall be for the sending forth of oxen, and for the treading of lesser cattle. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦
