Parecia-lhe achar-se ele de pé junto ao Nilo. 2 Do rio subiam sete vacas formosas à vista e gordas e pastavam no carriçal. 3 Após elas subiam do rio outras sete vacas, feias à vista e magras; e pararam junto às primeiras, na margem do rio. 4 As vacas feias à vista e magras comiam as sete formosas à vista e gordas. Então, acordou Faraó. 5 Tornando a dormir, sonhou outra vez. De uma só haste saíam sete espigas cheias e boas. 6 E após elas nasciam sete espigas mirradas, crestadas do vento oriental. 7 As espigas mirradas devoravam as sete espigas grandes e cheias. Então, acordou Faraó. Fora isto um sonho. 8 De manhã, achando-se ele de espírito perturbado, mandou chamar todos os magos do Egito e todos os seus sábios e lhes contou os sonhos; mas ninguém havia que lhos interpretasse. 9 Então, disse a Faraó o copeiro-chefe: Lembro-me hoje das minhas ofensas. 10 Estando Faraó mui indignado contra os seus servos e pondo-me sob prisão na casa do comandante da guarda, a mim e ao padeiro-chefe, 11 tivemos um sonho na mesma noite, eu e ele; sonhamos, e cada sonho com a sua própria significação. 12 Achava-se conosco um jovem hebreu, servo do comandante da guarda; contamos-lhe os nossos sonhos, e ele no-los interpretou, a cada um segundo o seu sonho. 13 E como nos interpretou, assim mesmo se deu: eu fui restituído ao meu cargo, o outro foi enforcado. 14 Então, Faraó mandou chamar a José, e o fizeram sair à pressa da masmorra; ele se barbeou, mudou de roupa e foi apresentar-se a Faraó. 15 Este lhe disse: Tive um sonho, e não há quem o interprete. Ouvi dizer, porém, a teu respeito que, quando ouves um sonho, podes interpretá-lo. 16 Respondeu-lhe José: Não está isso em mim; mas Deus dará resposta favorável a Faraó. 17 Então, contou Faraó a José: No meu sonho, estava eu de pé na margem do Nilo, 18 e eis que subiam dele sete vacas gordas e formosas à vista e pastavam no carriçal. 19 Após estas subiam outras vacas, fracas, mui feias à vista e magras; nunca vi outras assim disformes, em toda a terra do Egito. 20 E as vacas magras e ruins comiam as primeiras sete gordas; 21 e, depois de as terem engolido, não davam aparência de as terem devorado, pois o seu aspecto continuava ruim como no princípio. Então, acordei. 22 Depois, vi, em meu sonho, que sete espigas saíam da mesma haste, cheias e boas; 23 após elas nasceram sete espigas secas, mirradas e crestadas do vento oriental. 24 As sete espigas mirradas devoravam as sete espigas boas. Contei-o aos magos, mas ninguém houve que mo interpretasse. 25 Então, lhe respondeu José: O sonho de Faraó é apenas um; Deus manifestou a Faraó o que há de fazer. 26 As sete vacas boas serão sete anos; as sete espigas boas, também sete anos; o sonho é um só. 27 As sete vacas magras e feias, que subiam após as primeiras, serão sete anos, bem como as sete espigas mirradas e crestadas do vento oriental serão sete anos de fome. 28 Esta é a palavra, como acabo de dizer a Faraó, que Deus manifestou a Faraó que ele há de fazer. 29 Eis aí vêm sete anos de grande abundância por toda a terra do Egito. 30 Seguir-se-ão sete anos de fome, e toda aquela abundância será esquecida na terra do Egito, e a fome consumirá a terra; 31 e não será lembrada a abundância na terra, em vista da fome que seguirá, porque será gravíssima. 32 O sonho de Faraó foi dúplice, porque a coisa é estabelecida por Deus, e Deus se apressa a fazê-la. 33 Agora, pois, escolha Faraó um homem ajuizado e sábio e o ponha sobre a terra do Egito. 34 Faça isso Faraó, e ponha administradores sobre a terra, e tome a quinta parte dos frutos da terra do Egito nos sete anos de fartura. 35 Ajuntem os administradores toda a colheita dos bons anos que virão, recolham cereal debaixo do poder de Faraó, para mantimento nas cidades, e o guardem. 36 Assim, o mantimento será para abastecer a terra nos sete anos da fome que haverá no Egito; para que a terra não pereça de fome. 37 O conselho foi agradável a Faraó e a todos os seus oficiais. 38 Disse Faraó aos seus oficiais: Acharíamos, porventura, homem como este, em quem há o Espírito de Deus? 39 Depois, disse Faraó a José: Visto que Deus te fez saber tudo isto, ninguém há tão ajuizado e sábio como tu. 40 Administrarás a minha casa, e à tua palavra obedecerá todo o meu povo; somente no trono eu serei maior do que tu. 41 Disse mais Faraó a José: Vês que te faço autoridade sobre toda a terra do Egito. 42 Então, tirou Faraó o seu anel de sinete da mão e o pôs na mão de José, fê-lo vestir roupas de linho fino e lhe pôs ao pescoço um colar de ouro. 43 E fê-lo subir ao seu segundo carro, e clamavam diante dele: Inclinai-vos! Desse modo, o constituiu sobre toda a terra do Egito. 44 Disse ainda Faraó a José: Eu sou Faraó, contudo sem a tua ordem ninguém levantará mão ou pé em toda a terra do Egito. 45 E a José chamou Faraó de Zafenate-Panéia e lhe deu por mulher a Asenate, filha de Potífera, sacerdote de Om; e percorreu José toda a terra do Egito. 46 Era José da idade de trinta anos quando se apresentou a Faraó, rei do Egito, e andou por toda a terra do Egito. 47 Nos sete anos de fartura a terra produziu abundantemente. 48 E ajuntou José todo o mantimento que houve na terra do Egito durante os sete anos e o guardou nas cidades; o mantimento do campo ao redor de cada cidade foi guardado na mesma cidade. 49 Assim, ajuntou José muitíssimo cereal, como a areia do mar, até perder a conta, porque ia além das medidas. 50 Antes de chegar a fome, nasceram dois filhos a José, os quais lhe deu Asenate, filha de Potífera, sacerdote de Om. 51 José ao primogênito chamou de Manassés, pois disse: Deus me fez esquecer de todos os meus trabalhos e de toda a casa de meu pai. 52 Ao segundo, chamou-lhe Efraim, pois disse: Deus me fez próspero na terra da minha aflição. 53 Passados os sete anos de abundância, que houve na terra do Egito, 54 começaram a vir os sete anos de fome, como José havia predito; e havia fome em todas as terras, mas em toda a terra do Egito havia pão. 55 Sentindo toda a terra do Egito a fome, clamou o povo a Faraó por pão; e Faraó dizia a todos os egípcios: Ide a José; o que ele vos disser fazei. 56 Havendo, pois, fome sobre toda a terra, abriu José todos os celeiros e vendia aos egípcios; porque a fome prevaleceu na terra do Egito. 57 E todas as terras vinham ao Egito, para comprar de José, porque a fome prevaleceu em todo o mundo. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  41 And it came to pass at the end of two full years, that Pharaoh dreamed: and, behold, he stood by the river. 2 And, behold, there came up out of the river seven well favoured kine and fatfleshed; and they fed in a meadow. 3 And, behold, seven other kine came up after them out of the river, ill favoured and leanfleshed; and stood by the other kine upon the brink of the river. 4 And the ill favoured and leanfleshed kine did eat up the seven well favoured and fat kine. So Pharaoh awoke. 5 And he slept and dreamed the second time: and, behold, seven ears of corn came up upon one stalk, rank and good. 6 And, behold, seven thin ears and blasted with the east wind sprung up after them. 7 And the seven thin ears devoured the seven rank and full ears. And Pharaoh awoke, and, behold, it was a dream. 8 And it came to pass in the morning that his spirit was troubled; and he sent and called for all the magicians of Egypt, and all the wise men thereof: and Pharaoh told them his dream; but there was none that could interpret them unto Pharaoh. 9 Then spake the chief butler unto Pharaoh, saying, I do remember my faults this day: 10 Pharaoh was wroth with his servants, and put me in ward in the captain of the guard's house, both me and the chief baker: 11 And we dreamed a dream in one night, I and he; we dreamed each man according to the interpretation of his dream. 12 And there was there with us a young man, an Hebrew, servant to the captain of the guard; and we told him, and he interpreted to us our dreams; to each man according to his dream he did interpret. 13 And it came to pass, as he interpreted to us, so it was; me he restored unto mine office, and him he hanged. 14 Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon: and he shaved himself, and changed his raiment, and came in unto Pharaoh. 15 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I have dreamed a dream, and there is none that can interpret it: and I have heard say of thee, that thou canst understand a dream to interpret it. 16 And Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, It is not in me: God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace. 17 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, In my dream, behold, I stood upon the bank of the river: 18 And, behold, there came up out of the river seven kine, fatfleshed and well favoured; and they fed in a meadow: 19 And, behold, seven other kine came up after them, poor and very ill favoured and leanfleshed, such as I never saw in all the land of Egypt for badness: 20 And the lean and the ill favoured kine did eat up the first seven fat kine: 21 And when they had eaten them up, it could not be known that they had eaten them; but they were still ill favoured, as at the beginning. So I awoke. 22 And I saw in my dream, and, behold, seven ears came up in one stalk, full and good: 23 And, behold, seven ears, withered, thin, and blasted with the east wind, sprung up after them: 24 And the thin ears devoured the seven good ears: and I told this unto the magicians; but there was none that could declare it to me. 25 And Joseph said unto Pharaoh, The dream of Pharaoh is one: God hath shewed Pharaoh what he is about to do. 26 The seven good kine are seven years; and the seven good ears are seven years: the dream is one. 27 And the seven thin and ill favoured kine that came up after them are seven years; and the seven empty ears blasted with the east wind shall be seven years of famine. 28 This is the thing which I have spoken unto Pharaoh: What God is about to do he sheweth unto Pharaoh. 29 Behold, there come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt: 30 And there shall arise after them seven years of famine; and all the plenty shall be forgotten in the land of Egypt; and the famine shall consume the land; 31 And the plenty shall not be known in the land by reason of that famine following; for it shall be very grievous. 32 And for that the dream was doubled unto Pharaoh twice; it is because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass. 33 Now therefore let Pharaoh look out a man discreet and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt. 34 Let Pharaoh do this, and let him appoint officers over the land, and take up the fifth part of the land of Egypt in the seven plenteous years. 35 And let them gather all the food of those good years that come, and lay up corn under the hand of Pharaoh, and let them keep food in the cities. 36 And that food shall be for store to the land against the seven years of famine, which shall be in the land of Egypt; that the land perish not through the famine. 37 And the thing was good in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of all his servants. 38 And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is? 39 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art: 40 Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou. 41 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt. 42 And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph's hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck; 43 And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt. 44 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I am Pharaoh, and without thee shall no man lift up his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt. 45 And Pharaoh called Joseph's name Zaphnathpaaneah; and he gave him to wife Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On. And Joseph went out over all the land of Egypt. 46 And Joseph was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh, and went throughout all the land of Egypt. 47 And in the seven plenteous years the earth brought forth by handfuls. 48 And he gathered up all the food of the seven years, which were in the land of Egypt, and laid up the food in the cities: the food of the field, which was round about every city, laid he up in the same. 49 And Joseph gathered corn as the sand of the sea, very much, until he left numbering; for it was without number. 50 And unto Joseph were born two sons before the years of famine came, which Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On bare unto him. 51 And Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh: For God, said he, hath made me forget all my toil, and all my father's house. 52 And the name of the second called he Ephraim: For God hath caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction. 53 And the seven years of plenteousness, that was in the land of Egypt, were ended. 54 And the seven years of dearth began to come, according as Joseph had said: and the dearth was in all lands; but in all the land of Egypt there was bread. 55 And when all the land of Egypt was famished, the people cried to Pharaoh for bread: and Pharaoh said unto all the Egyptians, Go unto Joseph; what he saith to you, do. 56 And the famine was over all the face of the earth: and Joseph opened all the storehouses, and sold unto the Egyptians; and the famine waxed sore in the land of Egypt. 57 And all countries came into Egypt to Joseph for to buy corn; because that the famine was so sore in all lands. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Marcos 12 1 Depois, entrou Jesus a falar-lhes por parábola: Um homem plantou uma vinha, cercou-a de uma sebe, construiu um lagar, edificou uma torre, arrendou-a a uns lavradores e ausentou-se do país. 2 No tempo da colheita, enviou um servo aos lavradores para que recebesse deles dos frutos da vinha; 3 eles, porém, o agarraram, espancaram e o despacharam vazio. 4 De novo, lhes enviou outro servo, e eles o esbordoaram na cabeça e o insultaram. 5 Ainda outro lhes mandou, e a este mataram. Muitos outros lhes enviou, dos quais espancaram uns e mataram outros. 6 Restava-lhe ainda um, seu filho amado; a este lhes enviou, por fim, dizendo: Respeitarão a meu filho. 7 Mas os tais lavradores disseram entre si: Este é o herdeiro; ora, vamos, matemo-lo, e a herança será nossa. 8 E, agarrando-o, mataram-no e o atiraram para fora da vinha. 9 Que fará, pois, o dono da vinha? Virá, exterminará aqueles lavradores e passará a vinha a outros. 10 Ainda não lestes esta Escritura: A pedra que os construtores rejeitaram, essa veio a ser a principal pedra, angular; 11 isto procede do Senhor, e é maravilhoso aos nossos olhos? 12 E procuravam prendê-lo, mas temiam o povo; porque compreenderam que contra eles proferira esta parábola. Então, desistindo, retiraram-se. 13 E enviaram-lhe alguns dos fariseus e dos herodianos, para que o apanhassem em alguma palavra. 14 Chegando, disseram-lhe: Mestre, sabemos que és verdadeiro e não te importas com quem quer que seja, porque não olhas a aparência dos homens; antes, segundo a verdade, ensinas o caminho de Deus; é lícito pagar tributo a César ou não? Devemos ou não devemos pagar? 15 Mas Jesus, percebendo-lhes a hipocrisia, respondeu: Por que me experimentais? Trazei-me um denário para que eu o veja. 16 E eles lho trouxeram. Perguntou-lhes: De quem é esta efígie e inscrição? Responderam: De César. 17 Disse-lhes, então, Jesus: Dai a César o que é de César e a Deus o que é de Deus. E muito se admiraram dele. 18 Então, os saduceus, que dizem não haver ressurreição, aproximaram-se dele e lhe perguntaram, dizendo: 19 Mestre, Moisés nos deixou escrito que, se morrer o irmão de alguém e deixar mulher sem filhos, seu irmão a tome como esposa e suscite descendência a seu irmão. 20 Ora, havia sete irmãos; o primeiro casou e morreu sem deixar descendência; 21 o segundo desposou a viúva e morreu, também sem deixar descendência; e o terceiro, da mesma forma. 22 E, assim, os sete não deixaram descendência. Por fim, depois de todos, morreu também a mulher. 23 Na ressurreição, quando eles ressuscitarem, de qual deles será ela a esposa? Porque os sete a desposaram. 24 Respondeu-lhes Jesus: Não provém o vosso erro de não conhecerdes as Escrituras, nem o poder de Deus? 25 Pois, quando ressuscitarem de entre os mortos, nem casarão, nem se darão em casamento; porém, são como os anjos nos céus. 26 Quanto à ressurreição dos mortos, não tendes lido no Livro de Moisés, no trecho referente à sarça, como Deus lhe falou: Eu sou o Deus de Abraão, o Deus de Isaque e o Deus de Jacó? 27 Ora, ele não é Deus de mortos, e sim de vivos. Laborais em grande erro. 28 Chegando um dos escribas, tendo ouvido a discussão entre eles, vendo como Jesus lhes houvera respondido bem, perguntou-lhe: Qual é o principal de todos os mandamentos? 29 Respondeu Jesus: O principal é: Ouve, ó Israel, o Senhor, nosso Deus, é o único Senhor! 30 Amarás, pois, o Senhor, teu Deus, de todo o teu coração, de toda a tua alma, de todo o teu entendimento e de toda a tua força. 31 O segundo é: Amarás o teu próximo como a ti mesmo. Não há outro mandamento maior do que estes. 32 Disse-lhe o escriba: Muito bem, Mestre, e com verdade disseste que ele é o único, e não há outro senão ele, 33 e que amar a Deus de todo o coração e de todo o entendimento e de toda a força, e amar ao próximo como a si mesmo excede a todos os holocaustos e sacrifícios. 34 Vendo Jesus que ele havia respondido sabiamente, declarou-lhe: Não estás longe do reino de Deus. E já ninguém mais ousava interrogá-lo. 35 Jesus, ensinando no templo, perguntou: Como dizem os escribas que o Cristo é filho de Davi? 36 O próprio Davi falou, pelo Espírito Santo: Disse o Senhor ao meu Senhor: Assenta-te à minha direita, até que eu ponha os teus inimigos debaixo dos teus pés. 37 O mesmo Davi chama-lhe Senhor; como, pois, é ele seu filho? E a grande multidão o ouvia com prazer. 38 E, ao ensinar, dizia ele: Guardai-vos dos escribas, que gostam de andar com vestes talares e das saudações nas praças; 39 e das primeiras cadeiras nas sinagogas e dos primeiros lugares nos banquetes; 40 os quais devoram as casas das viúvas e, para o justificar, fazem longas orações; estes sofrerão juízo muito mais severo. 41 Assentado diante do gazofilácio, observava Jesus como o povo lançava ali o dinheiro. Ora, muitos ricos depositavam grandes quantias. 42 Vindo, porém, uma viúva pobre, depositou duas pequenas moedas correspondentes a um quadrante. 43 E, chamando os seus discípulos, disse-lhes: Em verdade vos digo que esta viúva pobre depositou no gazofilácio mais do que o fizeram todos os ofertantes. 44 Porque todos eles ofertaram do que lhes sobrava; ela, porém, da sua pobreza deu tudo quanto possuía, todo o seu sustento. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  12 And he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge about it, and digged a place for the winefat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country. 2 And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard. 3 And they caught him, and beat him, and sent him away empty. 4 And again he sent unto them another servant; and at him they cast stones, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully handled. 5 And again he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some. 6 Having yet therefore one son, his wellbeloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son. 7 But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours.' 8 And they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard. 9 What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others. 10 And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner: 11 This was the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes? 12 And they sought to lay hold on him, but feared the people: for they knew that he had spoken the parable against them: and they left him, and went their way. 13 And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, to catch him in his words. 14 And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not? 15 Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see it. 16 And they brought it. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Caesar's. 17 And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at him. 18 Then come unto him the Sadducees, which say there is no resurrection; and they asked him, saying, 19 Master, Moses wrote unto us, If a man's brother die, and leave his wife behind him, and leave no children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother. 20 Now there were seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and dying left no seed. 21 And the second took her, and died, neither left he any seed: and the third likewise. 22 And the seven had her, and left no seed: last of all the woman died also. 23 In the resurrection therefore, when they shall rise, whose wife shall she be of them? for the seven had her to wife. 24 And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God? 25 For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven. 26 And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? 27 He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err. 28 And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all? 29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: 30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. 31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. 32 And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he: 33 And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices. 34 And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question. 35 And Jesus answered and said, while he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that Christ is the son of David? 36 For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool. 37 David therefore himself calleth him Lord; and whence is he then his son? E até quando as palavras da tua boca serão qual vento impetuoso? 3 Perverteria Deus o direito ou perverteria o Todo-Poderoso a justiça? 4 Se teus filhos pecaram contra ele, também ele os lançou no poder da sua transgressão. 5 Mas, se tu buscares a Deus e ao Todo-Poderoso pedires misericórdia, 6 se fores puro e reto, ele, sem demora, despertará em teu favor e restaurará a justiça da tua morada. 7 O teu primeiro estado, na verdade, terá sido pequeno, mas o teu último crescerá sobremaneira. 8 Pois, eu te peço, pergunta agora a gerações passadas e atenta para a experiência de seus pais; 9 porque nós somos de ontem e nada sabemos; porquanto nossos dias sobre a terra são como a sombra. 10 Porventura, não te ensinarão os pais, não haverão de falar-te e do próprio entendimento não proferirão estas palavras: 11 Pode o papiro crescer sem lodo? Ou viça o junco sem água? 12 Estando ainda na sua verdura e ainda não colhidos, todavia, antes de qualquer outra erva se secam. 13 São assim as veredas de todos quantos se esquecem de Deus; e a esperança do ímpio perecerá. 14 A sua firmeza será frustrada, e a sua confiança é teia de aranha. 15 Encostar-se-á à sua casa, e ela não se manterá, agarrar-se-á a ela, e ela não ficará em pé. 16 Ele é viçoso perante o sol, e os seus renovos irrompem no seu jardim; 17 as suas raízes se entrelaçam num montão de pedras e penetram até às muralhas. 18 Mas, se Deus o arranca do seu lugar, então, este o negará, dizendo: Nunca te vi. 19 Eis em que deu a sua vida! E do pó brotarão outros. 20 Eis que Deus não rejeita ao íntegro, nem toma pela mão os malfeitores. 21 Ele te encherá a boca de riso e os teus lábios, de júbilo. 22 Teus aborrecedores se vestirão de ignomínia, e a tenda dos perversos não subsistirá. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  8 Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said, 2 How long wilt thou speak these things? and how long shall the words of thy mouth be like a strong wind? 3 Doth God pervert judgment? or doth the Almighty pervert justice? 4 If thy children have sinned against him, and he have cast them away for their transgression; 5 If thou wouldest seek unto God betimes, and make thy supplication to the Almighty; 6 If thou wert pure and upright; surely now he would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous. 7 Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase. 8 For enquire, I pray thee, of the former age, and prepare thyself to the search of their fathers: 9 (For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth are a shadow:) 10 Shall not they teach thee, and tell thee, and utter words out of their heart? 11 Can the rush grow up without mire? can the flag grow without water? 12 Whilst it is yet in his greenness, and not cut down, it withereth before any other herb. 13 So are the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite's hope shall perish: 14 Whose hope shall be cut off, and whose trust shall be a spider's web. 15 He shall lean upon his house, but it shall not stand: he shall hold it fast, but it shall not endure. 16 He is green before the sun, and his branch shooteth forth in his garden. 17 His roots are wrapped about the heap, and seeth the place of stones. 18 If he destroy him from his place, then it shall deny him, saying, I have not seen thee. 19 Behold, this is the joy of his way, and out of the earth shall others grow. 20 Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man, neither will he help the evil doers: 21 Till he fill thy mouth with laughing, and thy lips with rejoicing. 22 They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame; and the dwelling place of the wicked shall come to nought. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦
