Não conheço o SENHOR, nem tampouco deixarei ir a Israel. 3 Eles prosseguiram: O Deus dos hebreus nos encontrou; deixa-nos ir, pois, caminho de três dias ao deserto, para que ofereçamos sacrifícios ao SENHOR, nosso Deus, e não venha ele sobre nós com pestilência ou com espada. 4 Então, lhes disse o rei do Egito: Por que, Moisés e Arão, por que interrompeis o povo no seu trabalho? Ide às vossas tarefas. 5 Disse também Faraó: O povo da terra já é muito, e vós o distraís das suas tarefas. 6 Naquele mesmo dia, pois, deu ordem Faraó aos superintendentes do povo e aos seus capatazes, dizendo: 7 Daqui em diante não torneis a dar palha ao povo, para fazer tijolos, como antes; eles mesmos que vão e ajuntem para si a palha. 8 E exigireis deles a mesma conta de tijolos que antes faziam; nada diminuireis dela; estão ociosos e, por isso, clamam: Vamos e sacrifiquemos ao nosso Deus. 9 Agrave-se o serviço sobre esses homens, para que nele se apliquem e não dêem ouvidos a palavras mentirosas. 10 Então, saíram os superintendentes do povo e seus capatazes e falaram ao povo: Assim diz Faraó: Não vos darei palha. 11 Ide vós mesmos e ajuntai palha onde a puderdes achar; porque nada se diminuirá do vosso trabalho. 12 Então, o povo se espalhou por toda a terra do Egito a ajuntar restolho em lugar de palha. 13 Os superintendentes os apertavam, dizendo: Acabai vossa obra, a tarefa do dia, como quando havia palha. 14 E foram açoitados os capatazes dos filhos de Israel, que os superintendentes de Faraó tinham posto sobre eles; e os superintendentes lhes diziam: Por que não acabastes nem ontem, nem hoje a vossa tarefa, fazendo tijolos como antes? 15 Então, foram os capatazes dos filhos de Israel e clamaram a Faraó, dizendo: Por que tratas assim a teus servos? 16 Palha não se dá a teus servos, e nos dizem: Fazei tijolos. Eis que teus servos são açoitados; porém o teu próprio povo é que tem a culpa. 17 Mas ele respondeu: Estais ociosos, estais ociosos; por isso, dizeis: Vamos, sacrifiquemos ao SENHOR. 18 Ide, pois, agora, e trabalhai; palha, porém, não se vos dará; contudo, dareis a mesma quantidade de tijolos. 19 Então, os capatazes dos filhos de Israel se viram em aperto, porquanto se lhes dizia: Nada diminuireis dos vossos tijolos, da vossa tarefa diária. 20 Quando saíram da presença de Faraó, encontraram Moisés e Arão, que estavam à espera deles; 21 e lhes disseram: Olhe o SENHOR para vós outros e vos julgue, porquanto nos fizestes odiosos aos olhos de Faraó e diante dos seus servos, dando-lhes a espada na mão para nos matar. 22 Então, Moisés, tornando-se ao SENHOR, disse: Ó Senhor, por que afligiste este povo? Por que me enviaste? 23 Pois, desde que me apresentei a Faraó, para falar-lhe em teu nome, ele tem maltratado este povo; e tu, de nenhuma sorte, livraste o teu povo. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  5 And afterward Moses and Aaron went in, and told Pharaoh, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a feast unto me in the wilderness. 2 And Pharaoh said, Who is the Lord, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the Lord, neither will I let Israel go. 3 And they said, The God of the Hebrews hath met with us: let us go, we pray thee, three days' journey into the desert, and sacrifice unto the Lord our God; lest he fall upon us with pestilence, or with the sword. 4 And the king of Egypt said unto them, Wherefore do ye, Moses and Aaron, let the people from their works? get you unto your burdens. 5 And Pharaoh said, Behold, the people of the land now are many, and ye make them rest from their burdens. 6 And Pharaoh commanded the same day the taskmasters of the people, and their officers, saying, 7 Ye shall no more give the people straw to make brick, as heretofore: let them go and gather straw for themselves. 8 And the tale of the bricks, which they did make heretofore, ye shall lay upon them; ye shall not diminish ought thereof: for they be idle; therefore they cry, saying, Let us go and sacrifice to our God. 9 Let there more work be laid upon the men, that they may labour therein; and let them not regard vain words. 10 And the taskmasters of the people went out, and their officers, and they spake to the people, saying, Thus saith Pharaoh, I will not give you straw. 11 Go ye, get you straw where ye can find it: yet not ought of your work shall be diminished. 12 So the people were scattered abroad throughout all the land of Egypt to gather stubble instead of straw. 13 And the taskmasters hasted them, saying, Fulfil your works, your daily tasks, as when there was straw. 14 And the officers of the children of Israel, which Pharaoh's taskmasters had set over them, were beaten, and demanded, Wherefore have ye not fulfilled your task in making brick both yesterday and to day, as heretofore? 15 Then the officers of the children of Israel came and cried unto Pharaoh, saying, Wherefore dealest thou thus with thy servants? 16 There is no straw given unto thy servants, and they say to us, Make brick: and, behold, thy servants are beaten; but the fault is in thine own people. 17 But he said, Ye are idle, ye are idle: therefore ye say, Let us go and do sacrifice to the Lord. 18 Go therefore now, and work; for there shall no straw be given you, yet shall ye deliver the tale of bricks. 19 And the officers of the children of Israel did see that they were in evil case, after it was said, Ye shall not minish ought from your bricks of your daily task. 20 And they met Moses and Aaron, who stood in the way, as they came forth from Pharaoh: 21 And they said unto them, The Lord look upon you, and judge; because ye have made our savour to be abhorred in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to slay us. 22 And Moses returned unto the Lord, and said, Lord, wherefore hast thou so evil entreated this people? why is it that thou hast sent me? 23 For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in thy name, he hath done evil to this people; neither hast thou delivered thy people at all. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Lucas 10 1 Depois disto, o Senhor designou outros setenta; e os enviou de dois em dois, para que o precedessem em cada cidade e lugar aonde ele estava para ir. 2 E lhes fez a seguinte advertência: A seara é grande, mas os trabalhadores são poucos. Rogai, pois, ao Senhor da seara que mande trabalhadores para a sua seara. 3 Ide! Eis que eu vos envio como cordeiros para o meio de lobos. 4 Não leveis bolsa, nem alforje, nem sandálias; e a ninguém saudeis pelo caminho. 5 Ao entrardes numa casa, dizei antes de tudo: Paz seja nesta casa! 6 Se houver ali um filho da paz, repousará sobre ele a vossa paz; se não houver, ela voltará sobre vós. 7 Permanecei na mesma casa, comendo e bebendo do que eles tiverem; porque digno é o trabalhador do seu salário. Não andeis a mudar de casa em casa. 8 Quando entrardes numa cidade e ali vos receberem, comei do que vos for oferecido. 9 Curai os enfermos que nela houver e anunciai-lhes: A vós outros está próximo o reino de Deus. 10 Quando, porém, entrardes numa cidade e não vos receberem, saí pelas ruas e clamai: 11 Até o pó da vossa cidade, que se nos pegou aos pés, sacudimos contra vós outros. Não obstante, sabei que está próximo o reino de Deus. 12 Digo-vos que, naquele dia, haverá menos rigor para Sodoma do que para aquela cidade. 13 Ai de ti, Corazim! Ai de ti, Betsaida! Porque, se em Tiro e em Sidom, se tivessem operado os milagres que em vós se fizeram, há muito que elas se teriam arrependido, assentadas em pano de saco e cinza. 14 Contudo, no Juízo, haverá menos rigor para Tiro e Sidom do que para vós outras. 15 Tu, Cafarnaum, elevar-te-ás, porventura, até ao céu? Descerás até ao inferno. 16 Quem vos der ouvidos ouve-me a mim; e quem vos rejeitar a mim me rejeita; quem, porém, me rejeitar rejeita aquele que me enviou. 17 Então, regressaram os setenta, possuídos de alegria, dizendo: Senhor, os próprios demônios se nos submetem pelo teu nome! 18 Mas ele lhes disse: Eu via Satanás caindo do céu como um relâmpago. 19 Eis aí vos dei autoridade para pisardes serpentes e escorpiões e sobre todo o poder do inimigo, e nada, absolutamente, vos causará dano. 20 Não obstante, alegrai-vos, não porque os espíritos se vos submetem, e sim porque o vosso nome está arrolado nos céus. 21 Naquela hora, exultou Jesus no Espírito Santo e exclamou: Graças te dou, ó Pai, Senhor do céu e da terra, porque ocultaste estas coisas aos sábios e instruídos e as revelaste aos pequeninos. Sim, ó Pai, porque assim foi do teu agrado. 22 Tudo me foi entregue por meu Pai. Ninguém sabe quem é o Filho, senão o Pai; e também ninguém sabe quem é o Pai, senão o Filho, e aquele a quem o Filho o quiser revelar. 23 E, voltando-se para os seus discípulos, disse-lhes particularmente: Bem-aventurados os olhos que vêem as coisas que vós vedes. 24 Pois eu vos afirmo que muitos profetas e reis quiseram ver o que vedes e não viram; e ouvir o que ouvis e não o ouviram. 25 E eis que certo homem, intérprete da Lei, se levantou com o intuito de pôr Jesus à prova e disse-lhe: Mestre, que farei para herdar a vida eterna? 26 Então, Jesus lhe perguntou: Que está escrito na Lei? Como interpretas? 27 A isto ele respondeu: Amarás o Senhor, teu Deus, de todo o teu coração, de toda a tua alma, de todas as tuas forças e de todo o teu entendimento; e: Amarás o teu próximo como a ti mesmo. 28 Então, Jesus lhe disse: Respondeste corretamente; faze isto e viverás. 29 Ele, porém, querendo justificar-se, perguntou a Jesus: Quem é o meu próximo? 30 Jesus prosseguiu, dizendo: Certo homem descia de Jerusalém para Jericó e veio a cair em mãos de salteadores, os quais, depois de tudo lhe roubarem e lhe causarem muitos ferimentos, retiraram-se, deixando-o semimorto. 31 Casualmente, descia um sacerdote por aquele mesmo caminho e, vendo-o, passou de largo. 32 Semelhantemente, um levita descia por aquele lugar e, vendo-o, também passou de largo. 33 Certo samaritano, que seguia o seu caminho, passou-lhe perto e, vendo-o, compadeceu-se dele. 34 E, chegando-se, pensou-lhe os ferimentos, aplicando-lhes óleo e vinho; e, colocando-o sobre o seu próprio animal, levou-o para uma hospedaria e tratou dele. 35 No dia seguinte, tirou dois denários e os entregou ao hospedeiro, dizendo: Cuida deste homem, e, se alguma coisa gastares a mais, eu to indenizarei quando voltar. 36 Qual destes três te parece ter sido o próximo do homem que caiu nas mãos dos salteadores? 37 Respondeu-lhe o intérprete da Lei: O que usou de misericórdia para com ele. Então, lhe disse: Vai e procede tu de igual modo. 38 Indo eles de caminho, entrou Jesus num povoado. E certa mulher, chamada Marta, hospedou-o na sua casa. 39 Tinha ela uma irmã, chamada Maria, e esta quedava-se assentada aos pés do Senhor a ouvir-lhe os ensinamentos. 40 Marta agitava-se de um lado para outro, ocupada em muitos serviços. Então, se aproximou de Jesus e disse: Senhor, não te importas de que minha irmã tenha deixado que eu fique a servir sozinha? Ordena-lhe, pois, que venha ajudar-me. 41 Respondeu-lhe o Senhor: Marta! Marta! Andas inquieta e te preocupas com muitas coisas. 42 Entretanto, pouco é necessário ou mesmo uma só coisa; Maria, pois, escolheu a boa parte, e esta não lhe será tirada. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  10 After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come. 2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest. 3 Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves. 4 Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way. 5 And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house. 6 And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again. 7 And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house. 8 And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you: 9 And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you. 10 But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say, 11 Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you. 12 But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city. 13 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. 14 But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you. 15 And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell. 16 He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me. 17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. 18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. 19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. 21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight. 22 All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him. 23 And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see: 24 For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them. 25 And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? 26 He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? 27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. 28 And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live. 29 But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour? 30 And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. 31 And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. 32 And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side. 33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, 34 And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. 35 And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee. 36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves? 37 And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise. 38 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. 39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word. 40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. 41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: 42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Jó 23 1 Respondeu, porém, Jó: 2 Ainda hoje a minha queixa é de um revoltado, apesar de a minha mão reprimir o meu gemido. 3 Ah! Se eu soubesse onde o poderia achar! Então, me chegaria ao seu tribunal. 4 Exporia ante ele a minha causa, encheria a minha boca de argumentos. 5 Saberia as palavras que ele me respondesse e entenderia o que me dissesse. 6 Acaso, segundo a grandeza de seu poder, contenderia comigo? Não; antes, me atenderia. 7 Ali, o homem reto pleitearia com ele, e eu me livraria para sempre do meu juiz. 8 Eis que, se me adianto, ali não está; se torno para trás, não o percebo. 9 Se opera à esquerda, não o vejo; esconde-se à direita, e não o diviso. 10 Mas ele sabe o meu caminho; se ele me provasse, sairia eu como o ouro. 11 Os meus pés seguiram as suas pisadas; guardei o seu caminho e não me desviei dele. 12 Do mandamento de seus lábios nunca me apartei, escondi no meu íntimo as palavras da sua boca. 13 Mas, se ele resolveu alguma coisa, quem o pode dissuadir? O que ele deseja, isso fará. 14 Pois ele cumprirá o que está ordenado a meu respeito e muitas coisas como estas ainda tem consigo. 15 Por isso, me perturbo perante ele; e, quando o considero, temo-o. 16 Deus é quem me fez desmaiar o coração, e o Todo-Poderoso, quem me perturbou, 17 porque não estou desfalecido por causa das trevas, nem porque a escuridão cobre o meu rosto. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  23 Then Job answered and said, 2 Even to day is my complaint bitter: my stroke is heavier than my groaning. 3 Oh that I knew where I might find him! that I might come even to his seat! 4 I would order my cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments. 5 I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would say unto me. 6 Will he plead against me with his great power? No; but he would put strength in me. 7 There the righteous might dispute with him; so should I be delivered for ever from my judge. 8 Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him: 9 On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold him: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him: 10 But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold. 11 My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined. 12 Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food. 13 But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desireth, even that he doeth. 14 For he performeth the thing that is appointed for me: and many such things are with him. 15 Therefore am I troubled at his presence: when I consider, I am afraid of him. 16 For God maketh my heart soft, and the Almighty troubleth me: 17 Because I was not cut off before the darkness, neither hath he covered the darkness from my face. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦
